Classic Rock

Talk about classic rock here. I like Steve Miller, Heart, Posion, Scorpion, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, G&R, and the Allman Brothers!

Re: Classic Rock

Pink Floyd is my main favorite classic rock.

Also, as an interesting bit of information, Creed is very close to entering the
world of classic rock. So you'll be seeing Creed as classic rock soon.

Okay, scratch that. After looking around Google for a bit, I see classic rock
websites already talking about Creed. It seems as if they're already being
tagged as a classic rock band. But I am not entirely sure at this moment.

I wouldn't be so sure about that my friend. Usually classic rock bands are bands from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's, though I could be wrong.

Anyways, here are my personal favorite classic rock groups:

AC/DC
Aerosmith
Alice Cooper
Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Black Sabbath
Boston
Cheap Trick
Def Leppard
Elvis Presley
Faster Pussycat
Genesis
Great White
Guns N' Roses
Heart
INXS
Iron Maiden
Jimi Hendrix
Judas Priest
KISS
L.A. Guns
Led Zeppelin
Meat Loaf
Mötley Crüe
Ozzy Osbourne
Pink Floyd
Poison
Quiet Riot
Rush
The Scream
Skid Row
Slaughter
Supertramp
Sweet F.A.
Tesla
Van Halen
W.A.S.P.
Warrant
Yes

Re: Classic Rock

I do agree that classic rock is much better than any modern rock song you'll hear. So as a big Ozzy Osbourne fan, I was disappointed to see so many modern screamo bands play at Ozzfest. I was never a big AC/DC fan. I was more into bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Van Halen.

I agree with that statement. Modern music isn't as great as older music.
Plus, the bands today don't have as much talent [regarding dependant
bands]. The recording and editing technology is insane these days. And
now, you don't even need an instrument to create 'music.'

I hate it when people are so biased about music
especially just because of what they hear on the radio there's so much more than that and people that are all classic rock crazy  never really realize this

I don't see why people are so scared of liking more than one type of music I listen to a lot of everything even a little rap like Mod Sun he's amazing

why are you so scared of liking and searching for GOOD bands from this time period in music?

He probably ran into too many sell outs

The sell outs are all you hear about. Everyone from Disney and all the WMG bands are the ones you hear about.

Find a modern band that doesn't fall into either of those groups, and you have an awesome band...

QFT

the whole point is people are too LAZY to find something that's really amazing

And the sad part is that it doesn't even require much effort to find something amazing...

Open iTunes and go into the music section. Click on your favorite music style (for me it's electronic), and click on the "New and Noteworthy" link. You can find dozens of songs that aren't made by people like Justin Beiber or Owl City if you click on one of those.

People today just sit on their chairs and listen to whatever you feed them. It's sad what's going on today...

I was a bit too narrow on that post. I meant to say that most modern music
isn't as great, but failed to clearify that in my post. Not all modern music.
There are still some great dependant bands [my favorite being Thrice], but
like what some people have already said, you have to look for them. To get
past the "today's top picks" and "Today's most popular" to find the good stuff.

I have a hard time looking for music. I'll search for hours just to find one
song I like, if it even happens. And despite the possibility of me finding a
song I like, there's a smaller chance I will buy it. [No, I don't get music
illegally unless I am out of Napster credits. I have a bunch of credits at this
moment, so no worries.] So in short, I have a lot of songs from Creed, Pink
Floyd, and Thrice. I have a lot of other bands with a few songs from them,
and in most cases, just one song. I would make a list, but it's unnecessary.

Re: Classic Rock

Swaffy I think that you mean /most/ the modern bands today are great, because most of the bands that aren't good that /you/ probably hear about all the time are only a small chunk of musicians as a whole. There are MILLIONS of bands out there but it's pretty much impossible to know them all.

according to my last fm stats I have 468 artists that I listen to (and only right now, because every few days I go music hunting). what does this tell you?

I am not biased. In fact, I'm open to most types of music except rap. And most modern songs I hear about happen to be rap songs. I just prefer songs with melodies. I apologize if this offends you.

LOL, again with the "no rap" what is with you closed minded people

and second of all I didn't call you biased don't put words in my mouth

It's so interesting how people are so afraid of trying new things even if it's just for the ears

I never did like rap, ever. I've heard enough rap in my life to hate it.
