One Year Later

One year after the most shocking moment in media history.
The death of both Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson

For me, I got over it (still a little down).

Re: One Year Later

I don't really care about either of them, BUT I MISS BILLY MAYS' CAPS-LOCKING ON HIS COMMERCIALS, AS WELL AS THE SHOW "PITCHMEN"!  I THINK HE WAS MORE IMPORTANT IN 00's CULTURE!

Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: One Year Later

Michael Jackson's death was quite the shocker to all who had respect for him in the midst of the drama the man faced throughout his last years. I've gotten over it, though I still wonder how life would have been different had he not died...

Re: One Year Later

i was never really "bothered" about it. i mean, i was kind of sad that the guy died, and especially so much younger than a lot of people. that does suck and i feel bad about that, and that's expected.

but i didn't even know him; i don't know why other people are sad as though they did. i can see if his family is still sad about it, but to be so close to somebody you don't know is unhealthy.

Re: One Year Later

I can't vote in this poll, because I never cared about M.J. from the
beginning. His music was crap [opinion], and he didn't even respect his own
natural look. I don't like people who change their look because they aren't
thankful for what God created them to look like. I hope his music loses
popularity soon, because I always want to rip my ears off when I hear it.

Like I said in the other thread, I don't like him either but what you said before is just vicious.

Re: One Year Later

at Swaffy. i hate the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and more for ruining the music industry with their trash and making a bunch of money they didn't earn [i know 100,000 bands that deserve the money these 3 "groups" have].

but it's not like i don't care about them; if Justin died, or if one of the Jonas Brothers died, i'd feel the exact same way i did about Michael, whose music i preferred over theirs [but still didn't really like].

he was an odd human with a messed up life and an even more messed up mind, but he was still a human. and he didn't even deserve it. now if a mass murderer died for example, it'd be different, but Michael wasn't a mass murderer, he was a musician with a different taste in music than us.

They didn't ruin the music industry, they made it thrive.

If they died it would be tragic but I would get over it.

Among other things

Yeah, and they only made the music industry thrive because of their image to sell sex to teenage girls...

The music industry makes good artists sell out

Re: One Year Later

I guess that's why many [or even most] of the great bands stay
independent. If they were dependent, they might lose their funding and
have to stop making music.

Enya is a great singer, yes. Don't know much about about Alcest or Devin Townsend, but if you want to listen to a guy that's sold even more records than The Beatles, then let me introduce you to Garth Brooks:

True, he is good. But it's not all about record sales, it's about the soul of the music. That's what makes music beautiful.

True to that Bro! Too many so called "artists" today that become famous have neither talent nor beauty in their songs...:/

Some people just think that if the song is catchy, it's beautiful.

Yes, and very unfortunate too. Not that there's anything wrong with being an artist who sells out or anything but it seems that the only artists these days who sell out are the *PB's.

(*PB's: a short term to use for punching bags. Often referring to the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber who can easily be renamed to BJ for b*****b)

Selling out is bad regardless. It means you've sacrificed all creativity and soul for money

I never liked Michael Jackson, and just because he died, doesn't mean I will suddenly like him.
Don't rant me, but it's just how I feel.

I agree with you BUT i don't think people should have ago at him. Its not very nice at all. I mean its fine to say you don't like his music, i did'nt like it, and i mean just because he died it should'nt change.

Also i remember the morning i woke up and my mom said "Michael Jackson is dead." I just got up like "No...your lieing im not stupid." then as i turned on the radio it was on the news and i was like "ohh..." came as a shock TBH you don't realy exspect him to just DIE.
