E3 2010 The RunDown!

Well E3 2010 is almost over all press confrences are done. The announcements were big shockers to everyone I'm sure. What did you like and hate about this year's E3 though? Every Nintendo announcement, plus Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood were awesome news for me?

I thought the Kinect announcement and demos were pretty cool. I'm not too fond of the name though.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

I just hope Activision says whether a new Spyro game is in production. I think that it would put a lot of us at ease...:)

Pritty sad..nothing on Tales of vesperia PS3 comming out of Japan only a few WKC pictures and nothing on Ar tonelico and the Neptune stuff was non E3 related. so im sad TBH :[

The Kinect looks pretty cool, the controllerless Wii for the Xbox 360. Kind of like Eyetoy.

I don't think the Kinect will go very far against Sony's controllers and the PlayStation Eye.

Although I could be wrong, I mean sure, Sony's new Move + PlayStation Eye could give a LOT more of an experience (many people still like to hold something), but of course Sony isn't the brightest when it comes to marketing...

Before you make any judgments, a lot of people are predicting that the 3DS is the next big thing in handheld console. Strategically, Nintendo likely created the DSi as a way of easing the public into the newer technologies - basically, the DSi just served as a "taste" of things to come. This is likely the case, seeing how the 3DS also has a camera iirc as well as captures "3D videos".

So the DSi might be an easy-to-ignore gimmick of a handheld console, but that's because it likely is going to give way to something a great deal better. It's surely more innovative than what Sony and Microsoft is doing with their Move and Kinect respectively.

No, I personally don't think Move and Kinect will remotely make the Wii obsolete. You gotta first consider the types and genres of games that frequent each console. Also, look carefully at the specs...I don't believe they're nearly the same. Finally, I'd hold judgment about saying if "Sony and Microsoft master/refine innovations created by Nintendo".

But it's too bad they have no rockets or shells.

The Kinect won't be successful if it doesn't have any good games for it. People that own XBoxes don't want to settle for the party and casual games that the Wii has, and I highly doubt any hardcore games will use the Kinect functionality any time soon.

Also, I am a little worried about the price for the Kinect... I mean, $150? Are they serious?

Though I would love to see how the software works on the Kinect, especially if they have been developing it for so long...

You seem to be a bit blind towards the Xbox 360 and its games. There are
already game[s] that are ready for Kinect. And these are not
just "hardcore" games that you may be thinking of. There are a lot of
games for the Xbox 360 that you might think would be on the PSIII or Wii.
And there are even games that use the Xbox Live Vision camera! Don't
expect stupid games like Call of Duty to use Kinect. There are many games
out there in the Xbox 360 world that would go quite well with Kinect.

Yes, they are serious. Better technology and more advanced technology
comes higher prices until time passes, causing the price to drop.
