End of the school year, summer, etc.

Well, for most people, school is ending within the next few weeks, so how is everything going so far?

Personally, everything is going pretty slowly. But mostly because I have a high enough grade average, and I will not be needing to take most of my finals  :-P

My sister is going off to college next year too, and while it will be peaceful and quiet in the house without her, she will be missed. :'(

But anyways, do any of you plan on doing anything over the summer? I got an internship at BAE, so my weeks are pretty full  big_smile

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

I think it's about 2 weeks til I'm out of school. I'm so ready for it to be over. My biggest goal is to keep my Calc grade at a B+...we still have half the points to get with the final and another chapter test. D:

During the summer, I'll probably be working more hours at Culver's to take in as much money as I can before school starts again. I think our family is planning a trip to Louisiana to visit our relatives, but I' not quite sure yet. So I'll be doing all that, and probably start the dreaded search for college so I'll have at least some idea of what I want to do going into my senior year.

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

Two more days left of school, and no more work now, which is good since they know how to give to much work here.

As for what I plan to do over the summer vacation, not sure yet. Both of my little brothers are coming out to visit, so I'm looking forward to that.

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

Seniors at my High School are already out (me included), so I'm hoping to get my license and get a job before I hit College.  Still waiting for the acceptance letter (councelors at my school are slow).  No reason to be denied with my ACT and GPA, I've got the requirements.  Beyond even.

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

Only got at least three weeks and then exams I think me and my family might go see some summer movies here and there. There's a very special someone I would like to spend summer with. Besides that I will most likely be riding my bike around and spending time with family and friends chilling out and having good times!

Well, I failed my Bible class [I call it a worldviews class, as we learned
about Christianity, Islam, Marxism, Secular Humanism, Cosmic Humanism,
and Postmodernism], and it's a requred class to graduate. And so now I
have to do summer school for 6 weeks.

The education systems are so different... there is no Summer School in the UK, and you progress a year no matter what grades you get...

You're REQUIRED to take that class? Man, I feel sorry for you. Personally I hate all kinds of religion.

Tell me about it. Though here in the US, our systems go by which state you live in. I live in New Hampshire, so those of us who do exceptionally well in a class may get out of our final exams (with a teacher recommendation).

We may get summer vacation, but our year is a lot more dense than the UK. I may be wrong, but you guys get around 192 days a year, right? We get 180, but a 3 month vacation should not count for those 12 days. That is why I think we should abolish summer vacation all together and add more normal, weeklong vacations. Infact, we only have summer vacation due to the farming schedule of the past. Workers needed their children to help on farms during the summer time, but now we have child labor laws, so it doesn't really matter anyway. The problem is that because of each state having a different educational system, it would be very hard to rework all of them at once. Congress would need to pass a bill and take more control over the educational systems. Hopefully make a universal system that all the states must comply with.

There is a large gap between the smart students and the "I don't care" sort of students. There is no middle area sadly.

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

I left school a good five years ago and it has been thouch and go. Uni once and then onto the road. Not bad. I was not prepared for after Uni so everyone else be prepared!!!
Where I live it is Winter now so it aint summer. Still fine tho. I planning on attending a friends Veternarian graduation at Massey, I think? I'll have to ask. She ain't the only one, tho. My younger brother is graduating under the Vetnerian skills, too. So double the reason I should be there.
Nothing else, ussualy I give myself a break during Winter, don't know why tho. Geuss, network away and relax. Honestly, I'm giving any body who wants me to help them or investgate a Cryptid sighting will have to wait till Summer, or somethin unless they are a local, i would consderate then.

I geuss it is, sorta a break. When I was school we never breaked at this time. but now that I am alot older I choose where and when I want to break, I geuss.

I think I came out with an 85 average for that class. She is the hardest teacher in the school but I think she had mercy on me.
And ya it's been over for about  a week and a half now.
And I just remebered from your post that you studied other religions too, we also do that but we don't learn them as much as you have to though.

Re: End of the school year, summer, etc.

My school ends on 18th...

As far as my school goes I have almost all fives(that the highest mark here) aside for a few fours that I'll have...
I totally *bleep* up biology this year I dunno why I'm usualyy very good at it.
Russian isn'y my strong side, I still have to see if I can get a better mark from geography on tuesday so maybe I get have a 5 for the end, information technology is just raping my god *bleep* mind so I will be happy with whatever grade I get as long as it isn't a 1(lowest mark here and you fail the year if you have it)

As for pllaces I will visit this year when the dummer break starts, well I'm going to Slovenia, I plan to see the Postojna Cave among other things and from there I'm going to visit Venice!
I just love visiting Europ cities every summer big_smile Last year I went to Prague it was awesome! I hope this year will be as good as the lst one!

I wanted to visit Istanbul myself, I even founf this really awesome travvel agencie but it was way to expencive so i couldn't aford it...

Oh well, nect time baby!
