How to Train Your Dragon

Fans of the movie discuss it here. Toothless was by far my favorite character. I've fallen in love with night furies. smile

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

I saw it at IMAX awhile ago. I loved it, I also read the synopsis of the book, I didn't really like it as much. But I noticed something, the story for the movie and the book are practically identical.

Well, actually there are 9. In the credits it says "based on the series of novels by Cressida Cowell."

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

Probably not, it would take forever and then some to do them. However there is a sequel(allegedly) coming out in 2013

It doesn't matter if they make money off of the stated amount of stories, that's good, it's only if they make more movies from the same story arc.

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

They actually cannot make stories based on the books. Other than the names, and the concepts of vikings and dragons together, the books and the film are nothing alike.

Well yes, but if you look at the story for the book and then you look at the story from the movie you'll see quite a few similarities.

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

Like what exactly?

Differences:
- Toothless is a tiny useless dragon in the books.
- In the books, dragons are tamed by vikings domestically.
- In the books, there are no women in Hiccup's tribe.
- Astrid did not exist in the books.
- Snotlout is Hiccup's cousin, and hates him.
- Fishlegs doesn't exist in the movie (or is he that fat kid).
- So far, Hiccup has vanquished no big tyrant dragon.

And a bit more as well. Reply?

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

Okay, maybe there's one similarity.

Well, both the stories are basically, Hiccup's "Right of Passage". That's the similarity I was talking about, but I've yet to find more.

And yes Fishlegs was the fat kid in the movie

my only problem with dream works is they don't know when to stop...

Shreck 1-good film
shreck 2-an exspected sequill that ((IMO)) was better then the first
shreck 3-a dissaster...
shreck 4-MILK MILK MILK

Same with ice age the first was good.
second was crap
3'rd was trying to be funny i could have cry'd

I'd rather they did there job in the right way im making new films rather than milking all the franchises I mean i don't mide a sequill and a trilogy but for most of there films they just don't work...

Sequel.

"Among the projects announced are a theatrical film sequel scheduled for release for the second half of 2013, a television series, an online interactive simulation, and a live touring show."

This is the future for HTTYD. Looks quite promising, I guess we'll have to wait.

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

Still haven't seen it...

My mom and lil' brother saw it in theatres and liked it (bro' made our parents to buy him every single happy meal dragon toy) and I've heard that it's by far teh best Dreamworks  cartoon ever...which isn't such a hard task considering that 99% of dreamworks cartoons suck major *bleep*...

I'm waiting for the DVD....

Re: How to Train Your Dragon

lol, I liked the movie and I have no interest in reading the books. From my understanding the books are entirly different and aren't very good.

Hopefully this is successful, because it looks like Spyro's done for the time being.. sad

The game is very fun and addicting, too. I reccommend it.
