i believe they are very real think about it the universe is like HUGE (About 13.7 Billion light years [and its age they say] from one end to the other), and every star mostly contains a planet and makes the chances of other life very possible so yeah i believe them. Maybe God's testing other life o.O? just in my belief (i believe in God) wink .

They're not real. Some crazy person decided to create them one day. Later
on, someone else decided to argue thet they are real, such as the Bermuda
triangle crap, and haunted houses. Sure, spirits are around us, but they
cannot physically do anything [including the act of moving an object].

I think there real i just wouldnt really call them aliens. Think about it, what i said in my eariler post the universe is huge, theres a good chance theres life they could be just weird lookin critters not grey little people but if you don't belive thats fine. I don't question people's belief's.

I'm assuming you have proof to back up that fact? Alien life isn't limited to little green men; they can be also in the form of simple animals or bacterias and stuff.

Spyro22, you do know this topic isn't limited to the abduction kind of aliens, right? They can be any kind of living organism on any other planet.

My thoughts exactly there could be just grey little slugs on a planet,, or weird type of plants, or maybe even giant dinosaur like creatures don't think of them like little green/grey aliens. Just look at the weird *bleep* creature were finding on our own planet.

Let's look at the facts:

The chance of a planet with habitable conditions... About 1 in... 500? At minimum?

The chance of that planet developing life... About 1 in... Infinite? No? Let's say it's 100%.

The chance of that life becoming multi-cellular? Probably around 100%, since it happened on our planet 3 times...

The chances of that life gaining mobility? Let's say 1 in whatever.

Chances of that life becoming intelligent? 1 out of 0?

Chances of those species living to become space-faring? 1 out of ∏? Who the heck knows?

Judging by all of that, my calculations? We will be ****ing lucky to find existence of any alien life. You guys have to stop arguing about your... "Diety". Religion does not help anyone, it just causes war and arguments like the one that is occuring now...

I'm assuming your post was influenced by some sort of religious views? I would explain how I think aliens tie in with my religious views, but it's against the rules, right?

... Well, where did you get those calculations from? Some elementary science report?

If 1 in every 500 planet were to have life on it, there'd be millions of planets out there with life. The universe has millions of galaxies, and each one has millions of solar systems in them.

So if the chances of life becoming intelligent is 1 out of 0, how did we become intelligent?

And plus, if you want to start a religious 'war' on the internet, try not to make it so obvious. Maybe that will work with a Christianity forum, but chances are that nobody will care on a Spyro forum.

Yep and think to there could be infinite universes if you wanna know search Multiverse its a THEORY of universe's coexistencing with our own. Like bubbles in a ocean of bubble's then that would increase life even in other universe's yikes .

Personally I believe in them, as off and weird as it may seem as well as impossible.

First of all there's the fact that the heat source for the Milky-way is the sun. Now the sun is considered a small star when compared to other stars according to some scientist. This star provides heat, one of the requirements for life, right? Now look up, just how many stars do you see? A rather large number, millions, trillions, billions, and so on. Our galaxy has nine planets discovered so far, so all those stars must be outside our galaxy. So off of that, we have no clue as to how many galaxies there are. Just so long as the stars are there, there's always a possibility of another galaxy, which means there's always a possibility for other planets with certain values like Earths, and then there's the possibility of other planets with life out there.

I prefer to think about aliens adding onto the fact that we've only put a small step into the galaxy, and we will probably make some huge discoveries sooner or later. Then once we do we'll be repeating history. Remember when someone said the world was round, not flat? Everyone thought that was crazy, didn't they? No one believed him at first. Well, now it doesn't seem so crazy now does it? So what if that happens to aliens? It will be history repeating its self.

Actually our solar system has 13 planets http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c … ts2008.jpg and the main sources for life to happen/evolve/exist are water, sun/star, a moon, to control the waters, an atmosphere for protection of the sun/star and oxygen, mars used to be a life filled planet [maybe] (just bacteria/organisms) an asteroid hit mars and made it a dust planet, but that asteroid hit and maybe cause bacteria to spring/bounced off mars and landed on earth thus in a way seeding it. But i believe aliens exist.

Yes it might be a possibilty of having something alive out there like a microsopic slug thing or something. I just dont think there would be anything out there with intelegence like ours (hope I speeled that right).

Blacks holes bend light itself so its just beams of light forming an x/cross. A black hole is so powerful not even light can escape, and yes our galaxy has a black hole center yikes (Oh noez). While the chances of any given planet sustaining life are miniscule, there are trillions upon trillions of planets. Consider it like this. The chances of someone flipping a coin and it landing one its side are ridiculously small. But if everyone on Earth flipped a coin a few times, it is in fact probable that one or two people would get a coin on its side. Thus is probability.

But regardless, it might be impossible for us to travel to other worlds like that. It would take millions of years to get to places only a few galaxies away. And if we discovered a cheap little loophole in the fabric of reality, then information between Earth and our new colony would also take millenia to be passed to and fro.
