Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
Simply put......if you're an idiot I won't feel sorry for you...if you choose to be an idiot that is. If you want to actually make something of your life then I'll have a little more respect for you.
Those who try to get ahead in this world are the ones who are more often the better people. I enjoy the character of the truck drivers at the plant I work at more then most high degree graduates who live in the Upper Valley nearby.
I really don't care either way...you want to waste your life away complaining or thinking that you are somewhat useful then be my guest if that's what makes you happy. Just stay the heck away from me that's all I ask.
I hate it when they whine and say how hard their life really isn't but to them it's almost unbearable. My life is probably 100 times worse than theirs and do you see me complaining? And even if it does get worse I'm not going to complain about it

I was smacked too, with a wooden spoon. It was only after I had got 3 warnings (or straight away if I was doing something ridiculously stupid or naughty) and it only lasted a few minutes; it always hurt, but there was never a bruise or a lasting mark.
In fact, I don't think I'm above getting smacked even now... If I'm bad enough.

I used to receive lashes for most everything, but eventually I became tolerant of them and my parents moved on to non-corporeal means of punishment. It's really not that bad in moderation.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
I hardly ever get lashes anymore. I'm not really punished much either.
But the the pornography thing may not have been that bad to you, Aceedwin. Ive had some guys that talked to me about pornography and how it's hurting them. Its difficult for most people.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
It's difficult? How? This is all far too vague. How is watching a movie hurting them? And besides, were they forced to watch it? Honestly, I think pornography is the exact opposite of difficult for most people.
I really can't imagine this situation of yours. Probably because of the massive amounts of vagueness you've been serving with most of what you've been saying. I remember arguing with someone else in a similiar position to you, but with more factual information. It ended up much more interesting and I conceded more points. Try that next time.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
It's fun in the job experience I've garnered in having to wipe hard drives for customers in which was discovered that the reason his computer is so messed up is because of downloading too much free p0rn.
Awesome since we also get to report him for it....but someone is given a choice to do something or not, and most don't give a crud and will do whatever feels good in the moment despite consequences. I don't feel sorry for any moron who is screwed up because they downloaded too much p0rn.
Just falls into the category of an emotionally sick individual who is unable to actual better themselves.

RedDragonX explained some of what I was about to reply. Thanks.
But what I mean is it is hard to turn away from the habit. Once you're in on it it's extremely hard to get yourself out. Takes alot of will power.
Pornography ruins relationships for a lot of couples and it goes against the whole purpose.
That's what I mean by difficult.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
Well, why the hell would those people be watching it in the first place? You can't baby a grown man who has to provide for his wife and/or children; if he decides to look up porn, there's no way in hell he wasn't fully aware of the consequences.
Lmfao if pornography is hurting people, they should go get some help instead of whining and not doing anything about it.

I honestly don't care if someone chooses to ruin their life watching that crap, all I'm pointing out is that it was there choice to do so and they get to live with the consequences.
I won't feel sorry for you or anything, that's just how it should be.

I have serious doubts that pornography is that addictive. Let's see some facts, or at least unbiased opinions.
If pornography can actually destroy a relationship then it wasn't a decent relationship in the first place. I know there are couples that enjoy pornography together. In my opinion, it's just a less accepted school of photography and film-making, and people have got to ask themselves why they think it's so bad.
"It goes against the whole purpose." The whole purpose of what exactly?
Lol at the odd spam interruption.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
Facts? Sure.
Here's a source I found while searching Google:
http://newsnet.byu.edu/story.cfm/13911
And another:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/thf_media/2010/ … ingTST.pdf
And another:
http://www.news-medical.net/news/201002 … study.aspx
And that's just on the first page. Don't like those? Do some searching of your own.
Pornography is addictive, and like RedDragonX and Spyro22 are saying, it really can ruin lives and relationships. It turns people into sex addicts and makes them waste their lives away looking for instant gratification. It gives people who watch it unrealistic expectations of sex and can escalate into more and more extreme forms when what used to be exciting no longer arouses them. I'll let you read some of these articles, but here's one specific quote from the first one that I found interesting:
Ridge said he was not just looking for negative effects from pornography -- but that is all he found.
"I never saw anything that made it look like maybe there is some good to it," Ridge said. "We never found anything that said we would recommend it."
No one is saying it makes people more likely to "take drugs or join a biker gang," but it is harmful in other ways.

OK, I cannot actually read those because my computer seems to be made of toffee when it comes to those paticular hyperlinks, so I'll just concede that one point.

But why haven't we discussed possible solutions to this? We've certainly been able to point out the bad stuff, but haven't said what should be done to stop it.
And, if we were to get rid of pornography in general, what would those sex addicts do in order to get back that 'thrill'? Should we treat these people as criminals for watching pornography or as people that need help? How many cases of pornography related rapes, murders, ect. have been reported?
Well, I'm just saying what pops into my mind. I don't really know a lot about the topic.

We should definitely not treat them as criminals (sex addicts). Some get started on it by accident, out of curiosity, or parents put it down on them ealier in life.
Now rapes and murderers, yes. Because it was there choice right then and there on their action, whereas pornogrophy is one of those self harming addictions where it's very hard to say no to. And the porn thing isn't like drugs. Drugs like cocaine are self harming phiscally as well.
You could in most every case say no to murdering or raping someone though.
And if we did somehow get rid of pornogrophy then we would have to help those who are looking for that kind of gratification, but it would take alot of work.
