Why is the world have to be this way?
Really? A mojority of the world in stuck in poverty. 1000s die each day because of hunger. We stay in wars and in conflict with each other everywhere, and we must all live in fear because of it. Teen suicide is on the rise, and so many people dont even care that someone took their own lfe because no one was there for them. The innocent pay the price of the selfishness, carelessness, and greed of others. We are eaten away by pornography. There is Abuse of all kinds. The value of life is low. Homocides, Drugs, and waste of life. And we are too stuck in our own little worlds to do anything but sit and watch.

Everything dies.
The world is overpopulated too you forgot that
That's how it is, and while people keep saying that we "need to make a change", there's really not much to do about it.

hey, welcome back Spyro22.
in regards to your post... yeah. that's how the world's always been, and now it's just getting worse. a lot of people these days are too careless to even turn an eye to problems like this, much less try to help. i don't get people like that at all - stop hurting other people [emotionally/physically/in war/etc] and start trying to fix this planet.
but fortunately, there's still good people out there donating, protesting, going into these unstoppable wars so we don't have to, and just nice people who still give two *bleep*s about the world. and if people like that keep doing what they're doing, there's still some hope for us.

Thanks, its good to be back.
And yeah I truly admire those you try so hard and sacrifice almost everything they have to make some change.
And I think we can do something about. 20% of the world isnt poor. But only about .4% of that 20% actually do anything. We can fix the world, we're just not willing.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
To the OP:
Honestly, I reckon we're fifty or sixty years from the scientific boom. Probably twenty years at best from the point of fusion power being developed, and then we can delve into the sub-atomic realms of power. We are in an age where we actually have forcefields, albeit in their alpha stages. Once we develop nanorobotics, I will be able to create immortality (I have the plans around here somewhere).
I suppose poverty is still a bit nasty, but conflict is at a pretty great low, I'm more afraid of meteors than I am of nuclear weaponry, teen suicide may be on the rise, but so is world population. Your comments on innocent people are too vague to comment on. I don't see people's problem with pornography, and there isn't that much abuse really. The value of life has never been high, because life in itself isn't as worth protecting as that which it encompasses. You've passed right through pessimism into the fourth position, emoism.
The point is, if we kept thinking, 'Oh no, children in Africa and South America are dying', we'd be a bloody silly species, and nothing would get done. Instead of thinking about the big problems, focus on one or two little ones, and you can help the world get better. I myself, for instance, have taken the burden of stamping out amateur philosophy and winning the war on bad English. As a side note, majority takes an a, hence mah-jore-rit-ee. And it should be "Why does the world have to be this way?" as well.
To be fair, this post is littered with callous remarks and self-righteous remarks, but so was yours, and your alpha needed some omega-style lovin'.

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
Want to know why only 4% of that 20% donate to charities? Because if all of the World's wealth was shared out equally amongst the World's population we all wouldn't be able to afford the internet or anything like that and we would all have to grow our own vegetables; which is feasibly impossible because there isn't enough space in the World to feed everyone. So abolishing poverty would be like stepping to avoid a crack and falling off a bridge instead. That's another thing, share out the World's food and noone would know the meaning of the word 'full', because noone would be.
You cannot solve all of the World's problems...
Those are the sad facts of life. As Aceedwin said, you can only do what you can, such as donating to one or two charities. What people tend not to realise is that people who are in poverty don't want help, we just look at them, think 'aaawwww poor babies' and try and force money on them... Well they are going to do *bleep* all with money. What they want is to be shown how to help themselves. I remember one advert is worded "provide materials so villagers can build wells for clean, safe water".
"The phoenix hope, can wing her way through desert skies. And still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise."

It's how the world is but as people have said as long as nice people are around. There is still hope It can be rough Spyro22 but even though that is life there are people who care and can make a difference I'm sure I spelled that wrong and I do say sorry for that. God Bless and Amen!

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
I guess the OP just had one of "those days" where things didn't end up the way they were supposed to be, or events accumulated to frustration. Thing is, the small rant was overgeneralized* and IMO just highlights this state of mind. I'd like to talk about something more specific, but as far as I can see, the thread is just someone sighing with grief, asking himself, "Why? Why???" and it just ends there. I can't even say whether it's asking for (or even merits) some kind of compassion, so it's a shrug from me at the most. Nevertheless, you can't forget about the big picture, which includes the contributions that people have positively made.
*especially the comment about being "eaten away by pornography"

Trust me, the pornography thing is extremely destructive at the moment. And the abuse thing is also at a high, you cant always tell if a parent abuses their child. They can seem so loving towards the kid when you are at the house visiting but once you leave it's back to the beatings. And could you explain to me what you mentioned about the teen suicide thing please.
And sorry if I sounded self-righteous or anything. Didn't mean to.

of course war is inevitable. We cant stop it. We'll always have some lunatics living and trying to take over the world (Like the Nazis) or have the crazy idea about the terrorist thing.
What I'm saying is that after past wars (WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Balkan, Cold Wars) we haven't at least looked back and saw the outcomes. If only we could just get along... Like that's gonna happen anytime soon. We cant get along and we never will...Shame

Re: Why is the world have to be this way?
Ah-ah-ah! Godwin's law.
Anyway, I've watched pornography and frankly I don't see what the hoo-hah is about. Are you suggesting that having watching pornography I am statistically more likely to go on to take drugs or join a biker gang?
I was smacked as a child, I'm not now. But I don't think I've been abused. It was just a rather crude form of discipline. I've heard reports that say, "Oh, from estimates based on interviews with adults, one fifth of the children of Britain are being abused right now!" It's rubbish, because the question asked to the adults was "Where you ever abused?", there's more action being taken against abuse, and I can imagine me being smacked could be catalogued as abuse.
Teen suicide may be on the rise, but is the percentage of teens that commit suicide, that's what I'm asking. I would be shocked if it wasn't higher than fifty years ago because the world population has all but doubled in that time. I get the feeling that this is caused by a dramatic rise in amateur philosophy, leading teens to find life pointless etc.

Simply put......if you're an idiot I won't feel sorry for you...if you choose to be an idiot that is. If you want to actually make something of your life then I'll have a little more respect for you.
Those who try to get ahead in this world are the ones who are more often the better people. I enjoy the character of the truck drivers at the plant I work at more then most high degree graduates who live in the Upper Valley nearby.
I really don't care either way...you want to waste your life away complaining or thinking that you are somewhat useful then be my guest if that's what makes you happy. Just stay the heck away from me that's all I ask.
