A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)

A pillar of darkness appeared in front of them as Aurgal appeared in it. except he was floating and he faintly resembled a biped from the way he was floating. A dark aura could be seen surrounding him. His only eye was red with a black slit

Link remained silent, not responding to anything Lucy said. "Maybe ya don't, Lucy, but we Dragons see't as a law, knowing it isn't." Lexon answered, then quickly rolled sideways to avoid the burning sphere that was flying towards him. "What the...!" he and Link decided to follow Lucy, but their path was blocked by Aurgal's shadow aura. "Look, "Lexon", that one could be a good friend of yours!" Link said, noticing only one eye. "Shut it!" Lexon responded heavily. "Who're ya and why such an unusual appearance?" he asked Aurgal, regretting the usage of words which seemed somewhat difficult.

Lucy gasped and skidded to a halt when Aurgal appeared in front of her in demonic glory. She stared at him, carefully stepping backwards away from him. How is this possible? She thought, He wasn't exactly nice when I met him before, but he was never like this...

"STOP!" She screamed, "Aurgal, stop it! What are you doing?! This isn't you! STOP! Fight it! Do you really want to kill us? And your own sister?!" She babbled, hoping that her words would snap him out of it.

Aurgal simply smirked and shot a rather large red beam at them.

"If ya even try to hurt her..." Lexon said, without success. As Aurgal fired the beam at Lucy, he shoved her out of theway, making himself the target. As fast as lightning he drew two katana-like swords and tried to block the beam. He knew it would not be a very effective block, but at least it worked a bit. The beam burned and Lexon was pushed backwards with enormous force. The pain ached, but he tried to ignore it and jumped towards Aurgal, attempting to make a series of fast slashes.

At first, Link didn't care very much about Lexon and Lucy, but now Aurgal was assaulting them, he knew they had to work together. He grinned as he aimed and released a light arrow at Aurgal.

Aurgal promptly disappeared before any of the attacks could hit him and appeared a ways off, shooting massive balls of magma at them.

Lucy grunted as she hit the floor after Lexon pushed her. She had bashed her elbow, but nonetheless she appreciated the fact that Lexon was willing to risk his life for her. Wow... no one's ever done that for me before... Then again, no one's ever had to!

She got to her feet, rubbing her elbow while running towards Aurgal, not worried about him killing her - she knew that if she tried hard enough, she could help him to snap out of it. "Aurgal! Stop it! Stop it now! You know you don't want to hurt us!"

Before she could even reach him, he disappeared and re-appeared again at a distance. There was no point in chasing him. Lucy threw herself on the floor and avoided the magma ball that flew over her head, its heat tingling at her back. "Why are you doing this?!" She yelled at him before getting to her feet and rushing to Aura. What must she be thinking?! "Aura, come on! I know he's your brother, but I don't think we can stop him! Come on, we need to run or else he'll kill us all!" She urged, trying to push Aura forward.

While doing this she looked at Link and Lexon who were trying to fight him. "Don't, it's no use! He's too strong! We need to go, now!" She yelled over the racket. She felt bad that she couldn't help them to fight. What could she do?

"His neck?" Lucy looked at Aurgal's neck and tried to find anything about it that would perhaps stop his rampage. Although Lucy could not see much from a distance, there was nothing unusual about it. Then it dawned on her.

"Is that his weak spot?!" She blurted aloud. She ran to Lexon and Link. "Quick! One of you attack his neck! But not hard!" She added quickly. "Don't kill him, just make sure it'll have an impact!"

Aura nodded, happy that someone finally understood her without asking too many questions. Then she took off after her twin, who shot a force of darkness at her, which she avoided. however, he teleported into the middle of the others before she could reach him and started to cast fire in all directions.

Lucy screamed and dived on the floor once more to avoid the fireballs. "JUST DO IT! QUICK!" She yelled over the racket at Link and Lexon. Hopefully one of them could do it before Aurgal attacked again...

Lexon immediately repeated hit first attempt again, targeting Aurgal's neck now. He jumped and aimed to pierce right through it, hoping Aura was right.

Link aimed at Aurgal's neck and shot three light arrows after each other, to have more chance one would hit.

The arrows struck first, and Aurgal roared in pain before coughing up blood. However, just before Lexon's attack could hit, he teleported once more and unleashed twice and many fireballs towards them...followed by a large one

Lucy looked at Aura. "Did we do it right? Is it working?" Before the dragoness even had chance to reply, Lucy once again threw herself on the floor to avoid the fireballs. Her back was starting to tingle, and it felt like her dress was sticking to her. Her back was also very stiff.

She struggled to her feet and faced Link. "OK, do it again. Remember don't kill him!" She said. She felt pretty useless, all she was doing was yelling orders and trying not to be incinerated. She wished she could do something to help that was actually worthwhile. But what?

While Lexon tried to hit the fireballs and knock them back towards Aurgal, Link retried to hit Aurgal with another series of light arrows, from different directions now. "Why shouldn't we kill him, by the way?" Lexon then asked Lucy, while protecting himself and watching if the arrows would hit Aurgal.

Aura, who had overheard his statement, shot a fireball in anger at him. She missed diliberatly, but it was enough to show that she would murder him if he did strike her twin down.

Aurgal was hit in the chest by the arrow, but pulled it out as if nothing happened. He teleported once more...but to where, no one knew.

"Hmph. Hooray for immortality." Lexon grunted when Aurgal disappeared somewhere again. "I hate teleporting abilities of opponents. You see 'em, the next moment ya don't. Where'd that guy go..." He turned to Aura. "Ya seem to know him. Any idea where he could be?"

Link stopped and said nothing. He lowered his bow and put another thought in the case of Lexon. Could he really be trusted?

Aura tried to tell him that he was likely recovering from his attack, but couldn't show it. Instead, she picked up a rock and started to scribble on the ground

"Phew! Where'd he go?" Lucy got to her feet and clenched her teeth together and tried not to scream. Her back felt like someone was pouring scalding water down it, and it was very, very stiff. It made her feel sick. She couldn't even stand upright, so she had no choice but to stand in a hunched position. It felt like sunburn. VERY bad sunburn.

"Is everyone OK?" She asked, trying to hide her agony. She tried to get down on her haunches so she could see what Aura was doing, and groaned as her legs gave away and she collapsed on her hands and knees. She gazed intently at Aura's picture, trying to figure out what it was.

Aura drew a picture of a cloaked figure casting something of Aurgal. Then she drew another picture of him fighting something and the other one teleporting away. After that, she drew him launching a large fireball.

It hurt to lean forward, but Lucy did so to get a better view of the picture. She twisted her head and examined it careful. Eventually, she got an idea of what it might be.

"So... Aurgal has been corrupted by someone?" She asked, although she wasn't certain. She looked around briefly. "Where did he go?" She asked Aura. "Should we go and find him or..."

As she glanced around, she was certain she saw a lump of black scales further down the street. Seeing as it was dark and it was far away, she had no idea what it was. Still, she'd keep an eye on it...

"Then... I suppose that means we should get out of here." Lucy said, before taking a while to straighten herself out. While it was difficult communicating with a dragon who couldn't speak, she could pretty much tell what Aura was trying to tell them. Unless, of course, she was mistaken.

Lucy straightened her posture and looked around the now quiet, dark high street. She still hadn't taken her eyes off the black thing down the road and she was becoming more and more curious of it. She stepped forward at little and squinted in the darkness. The thing itself was so dark that it would probably not even be visible if it weren't for the lanterns that lined the streets.

Lucy suddenly gasped as she had a realisation. "Oh my god, look!" She said as she staggered forward, in a hunched position because of her back, which she guessed was burnt. The black thing got closer and clearer as Lucy neared it.

Once she got there (at last), Lucy gasped again. It was a huge, black dragon with a bloody gash on his side.

((Yep, it's Ulkna. I'll leave it up to you as to whether your character follows. It'd be interesting if Link did. Just saying.))

Both Link and Lexon decided to follow Lucy, both curious for what was down there. Link recognized the Dragon who laid on the ground. "Oh my. Look what you've become." He said in a sarcastic way. "Who would ever have thought..."
"Wait, ya actually KNOW it?" Lexon asked.
"Eh, fought it, yes."
"So...?"
"Well, seems like it's the owner of the Spire Palace..."
"More clear'ty. Ally? Enemy?"
"Enemy for sure. Aggressive as a Dragon can be. Responded to a landing on the roof."
"I'd do that as well. It's yer own property, better be aware of what ya do."
"Nah, I don't think so."
"Still a vage figure to meh."

Link walked over to Ulkna and asked, though he didn't even know if dead; "You there? Are you still alive?"

Lucy POV

Lucy snapped a glare at Link. "Who do you think you are? Look at the state of this poor dragon!" She looked at the fallen beast, whose breath was coming in steady gusts, making clouds of dust on the floor. "No, he's not dead. Why did you feel the need to attack him in this way?! You could've killed him!" The dragon also seemed non-responsive when Link spoke to him. He was clearly out cold. Underneath him was a massive pool of blood, and it was drizzling out of the huge wound on his side.

She started to think about what Link had said about him being the owner of the Spire Palace. Owner? What did he mean by that? Was this dragon perhaps the architect, hence the term 'owner'? No. She thought, How can he be? The palace is centuries old... He couldn't possibly be King Ulkna. After all, based on the horror stories that she had overheard, Ulkna was near indestructible. Surely he wouldn't end up as injured as this. What on earth could've happened?

Still, she wasn't to know for sure unless Link told her who he was. She gently placed her hand on the dragon's snout and stroked it. "Hello, sir? Can you hear me?" Nothing. He remained in his unconscious slumber. Lucy then turned her attention to the gash and whistled. It was huge, going vertically from his back down to his belly. It was seeping blood, and it seemed to be slightly inflamed on the outsides. Lucy knew what would happen if she left the wound for too long. Infection... blood poisoning... "It's OK, you'll be all right." She said gently. "My name is Lucy and I'm going to help you."

Lucy sighed as she realised she didn't have anything on her; no ointments, no bandages, no nothing. So she did the only thing she could think off, she placed both of her hands on either side of the gash and tried to press them together. She tensed as the dragon growled quietly before falling silent again.

There was only one thing left to do now. Well, at least it was all she could think of. "HELLO?" She called. "Can anyone come and help us?"

Idris POV

((OK, A Guy and Brom, I'm sorry for the wait here. I needed to get the timing just right.))

Brom the wise wrote:

Colum stood with his arms still raised still looking at the dragon before him, plainly expecting him to continue. Dispite his expectance, Zeel stood sylent after his retoric. The boy's arms were growing very weary and the boy himself very, very annoyed.
"Well... lead us to him, *bleep*!", spouted Colum in a fit of overwhelming irratation. "Don't take up space there, move your scaly hide! These beasts would love to have an excuse to scewer me!"
Moments after speaking, Colum instantly felt a tinge of regret for speaking, as he was quite shure that calling the centars "beasts" was a fine excuse to end him like a republican ends a healthcare bill.

"BEASTS?!" Marko and Tomas groaned as Idris, using one arm, grabbed Colum by his clothes and picked him up off the ground, so that their faces were level. His face was red with rage. "YOU F***ING LITTLE S***!" He bellowed in Colum's face. "YOU JUST PUSHED IT A LITTLE TOO FAR! HOW DARE YOU!"

Tomas smirked and folded his arms. "I told you to kill him. Go on, do it. Never mind the dragon. We'll find Ulkna ourselves."

Idris drew his sword using his other hand and pointed it at Colum's stomach. "You d@mn humans." He spat. "You and your little dragon friends are as bad as each other!"

"Wait!" Marko suddenly stepped forward, twiddling his fingers nervously. "Did you hear that?"

"WHAT?!" Tomas and Idris yelled together.

Tomas stepped back, and stuttered, "I-I heard someone shouting. Well, I-I think I did..."

"SO WHAT?!" Idris raged, shaking Colum. Then he stopped. He had heard something. A little voice on the breeze. A female voice. He stopped and listened carefully.

"Hello? Anyone?"

"I heard it." Idris said, not letting go of Colum. All three centaurs remained silent.

"Please, someone help us! There's a dragon here and he's hurt! Can someone help us?"

"We should check it out..." Marko whispered.

"WHY THE HELL SHOULD WE--"

"She said a dragon was hurt. Could it be Ulkna?"

Tomas nodded slowly and frowned. "He has a point. We should check it out, just to be sure, y'know?"

Idris growled and glared at Colum. "I'll let you go, brat. But if I EVER see your face again, I swear I'll gut you alive." He then threw Colum down onto the ground. "Come on then."

At that, the three centaurs trotted off down one of the side streets, leaving both Colum and Zeel behind.
