Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
Now I know that not every one of you live in a country where winter sports are particularly emphasized, but I'm sure you've heard the news going around recently. What's your thoughts on the current state of events?
Some recent newsflash includes the death of a Georgian luger at a practice run before the Games even began; the opening ceremony (with a few lol errors); the warm weather being problematic to the Games (I'm sure Aicebo can relate); passing of the torch (Arnold!); the first actual events which began today. Won't post any links; you can find any piece of news easily.
Just blurb out whatever. ![]()

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
I feel bad of what happen to Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili Friday.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the opening ceremony.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
Yeah me too, I wasn't even aware of it until I just caught the news Friday night. I didn't bother to watch the opening ceremony I was too busy with other things.
If you think that you can't do something, don't give up! Have confidence in yourself and things will become easier in the future.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
Did anyone see the Korean ice skaters collide? They just flew into the side...
One of them shattered their ankle.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
Yeah, I think I saw that. There were three Koreans on the top, and the latter two collided into each other right? They flew into the (padded) wall pretty fast.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
I watched the British bobsled team crash, luckily they weren't hurt other than nasty scrape on their backs from where they were dragged along the ice.
I mainly watch the Olympics for the 'zapping' that's on at the end of the day, at least it is on Eurosport. It's really funny, basically it's clips from the games and some people sit there and add music or sounds to it.
Here's an example of it from the Beijing Olympics for anyone's who is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1xSOfGb … re=related
And here's some from Torino in 2006: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCUcoskLEoc

Ice skating I am waiting for just so I can see Stephen Colbert.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
What about France ?
Not far from the last , this time it's not at home that we run , so our guys prefered to fall and to assure the show !
Yes , shame about us , but at least the Canadians did surprisely good at home , whenever the warm weather wasn't in their side , so , ummm...Congratulations !
