Re: The book or film?
I actually dont like reading books to be honest. I like writing when givin a subject but reading just isn't for me unless it's something that really peaks my interest. so I prefer watching the movies instead. although I do understand that the books have much more depht than the movie ever will. But I prefer seeing the visuals of the action rather than reading about it. what ticks me off is people constantly gripe about the movie sucking compare to the book. for some reason nobody can figure out that you can only put so much in a single movie. you don't want to sit on your butt for 5 hours watching a movie. and usually when these people complain about the movie sucking it ruins it for everyone else.
I have a friend who took his buddies with him to see a movie that was originally a book (I dont remember what movie it was). they all never read the book but a girl with them did. after the movie they were really happy and talking about all the cool stuff that happened. every time they mentioned a part they liked the girl always had something bad to say about it. telling them how it really was in the book and how the movie was stupid. by doing that she ruin their good time.
thats why I hate people like that

Re: The book or film?
I understand that perfectly, I get mad about the stupid things like getting an actor that has the wrong color hair. Or changing the story when you don't have to. Thats what I get mad about; the little stupid things.
The shame is not in crying, but in holding back your tears.

Re: The book or film?
I personally liked Eragon. Less Star Wars than in the book.
Please, don't tell me you didn't notice the entire Copy-paste he did with Star Wars.
I didn't until someone expolained it to me in all honesty. I think that's largely due to the fact I'm not a Star Wars fan. But yeah, it's not full on copying though. At least Morzan's dead so they can never have a "ERAGON, I AM YOUR FATHER!" momment... XD
I think Paolini did break away from the Star wars formula more in the later books if that's any consolation to you... XD

Re: The book or film?
Probaly the book side of it to be honest, it gives you more detail and you can see the characters in you minds eye how you like them
, e.g the sharpe films they are very different in places to the actual books.

Re: The book or film?
Firefly, I didn't even like Star Wars too much and I picked up on it.
and yes, Brinsigar does have a bit more originality, but I still don't like any of the characters except for Saphira and she's changing as well. The book was waaaaaay too confusing as well.
