Top 5 movies of 2009
So 2009 is done and it had some pretty kick *bleep* movies, so what are your top faovrite movies?
For me it goes like this
1. Watchmen
This is by far the best movie I have seen this whole year. I read the comic after I saw the movie and I still LOVED the movie, in fact I think the ending of the movie is done much much better that the one in the comic.
It's not much of a story driven film but a character driven. You get into the head of each character, you get to know them you get to see their view on the world their philosophy, and you can find a character to indentify with. This is the movie to which I will be coming back for more for year to come.
Also Rorschach is the most badass character in movie history!
2. Up
Pixar this is why I f***ing love you! This movie had everything. It was an adventure the likes of which I haven't seen in a loooooong time. Mummy 3? Indiana Jones 4? Pfffffffff, babie talk Up baby!
Also it was probably the most serious Pixar film I've seen. It made me cry at least 3 times, and let me tell you the last time I cryed while watching a cartoon was when Musafa died i nLinon King....*bleep*!
3. District 9
Neil Blomkamp fused a personal love of sci-fi, action movies and videogames with the turbulent history of his native South Africa and came up with a full-blown masterpiece. Avatar may ultimately get more attention, but as far as socially conscious, blockbuster sci-fi goes, this was 2009's undisputed king. Slimy aliens, nasty military hardcases, a giant robot and some of the coolest sci-fi super-weaponry ever unleashed onscreen ... and a story worth paying attention to. What more can you ask for?
4. Moon
This is by far the best "pure" science fiction film of the last few years! Sam Rockwell's preformacne was just brillinat. This is one of the movies that I will be remembering everytime I hear the word Science fiction movie. This is a must see!
5. Inglourious Basterds
This is a very weird movie at first, but once youy get into it it's pretty awesome. I didn't like it at first but hte more I thnik about it the better it gets! It's Quentin Tarantino at his finest. It was like watching an adaptation of cheezy comic book where every character is almost a caricature that represents the whole nation. Also it had proably the best villain of this year in a form of a badass SS Colonel Hans Landa a.k.a. The Jew hunter! Christoph Waltz did an amazing job playing him, and he acted in four, count that, FOUR languages! Awesome!
All in all this was a mixed bag with a lot of crap and a lot of good stuff but all in all it was fun ![]()
2010 don't dissapoint me!

Re: Top 5 movies of 2009
I haven't really watched a lot, but here's my top five anyway. The one at the top is my fave:
-Aliens in the Attic:- I expected this to be really bad, but in actual fact it was really funny.
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:- Not as action-packed as most of the others, this one is more of a set-up for the Deathly Hallows. Ron really was funny in this one; love-potions rock!
-Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen:- More visually spectacular than the first and some really funny robots in it too.
-The Twilight Saga: New Moon:- I am not ashamed to admit that I am a Twilight fan; I'm just not obssessed and don't pounce on people who hate it. New Moon was much better than the first one, it followed the book more and the special effects (aka. the wolves) were mint. There were pretty much no unnecessary scenes shoved in, like in the first one they had Edward kick an apple into his hands and hold it like on the book cover... Please, that was just sad...
-Monsters vs. Aliens:- This was the only other film that I watched in the cinema besides 'Planet 51' and both were major let-downs. I expected them to be really funny, but in actual fact they weren't as good as their trailers led you to believe. However, I preferred MvA, so I'll put that one up here...

Re: Top 5 movies of 2009
I've got a question about Inglourious Basterds (or however you spell it).
I heard it is a great movie, but is it a stupid movie? As in something similar to Tropic Thunder/Scary Movie/Meet the Spartans?
My sister told me it was a stupid movie, but I don't know what to think.

Or, instead of wasting 5 seconds of your life telling me an answer that I can pretty much say no one would have liked, you could have answered my question or even just ignored it!
That is one of the biggest annoyances of the internet.

LOL easy there now... ![]()
Anyways, I was given the impression it was more serious than the movies you suggested, though I'm not really sure. The obvious answeer would be to Wikipedia it, but to avoid getting a similar response to the person before me, I'l do it for you... ![]()
Okay, so yeah, it's not a comedy, I didn't think it was, since World War II isn't a exactly the best source of humour, but yeah, it's a war film. so it'd be more like "Saving Private Ryan" than it'd be like "Tropic Thunder"... Hope that helps! ![]()
