Re: who here thinks 360 would be better without rrod?
Well, at first the RRoD was caused due ti time limits so they didn't have time to install proper fans in the 360
they have fixed it a bit making it less frequent to happen, but from what I heard , people still are getting itI have had mine since christmas 07 so its almost 2 years old and its never got close to overheating (only froze twice on SR and SR2)
but either way, microsoft needs to fix the RRoD properly and stop relying on us to buy our own fans
yes thats what i think for example if our 3 year thing expires we have to pay 4 the 360 repairs every time we get rrod but M$ needs to make newer models that dont have as high as a failure rate then maybe MAYBE i'll buy a 360 and yes i do like fish sticks xD

Re: who here thinks 360 would be better without rrod?
The Wii is an okay console. The problem was not Nintendo's fault. They lessened the requirements to have your games published on their console because they wanted to allow in a huge wave of unique games and fresh ideas from new developers. In their minds they were hoping that some developers would aspire to making new breeds of puzzle games and adventure games using their Wiimote as creatively as possible. Games like Boom Blocks and a couple of others represent this successful attaining of Nintendo's wishes. However most developers took this as an incentive to stagnate the market with a bunch of terrible games and buckets upon buckets of "40 in 1" party game titles rather than try and be creative, and that's pretty sad.
There are a few solid titles for the Wii that will keep you coming back for more, but they extremely few and far inbetween.
yep. the only thing keeping me playing wii is ssbb and the rumors of rayman 4

Re: who here thinks 360 would be better without rrod?
You need a server to host. How players "host" is by creating a section in the companies Server that you "host" the reason if some one has a bad connection and the room closes is because the person "creating the room" loses connection and the room collapses. which means they arent hosting and there is no room any more...
Umm... No... I've been working with game networking code for a few years, and if that happened? It would be impossible to play online. Here, let me show you how servers and clients work:
Server - A computer that uses software to communicate with a client.
Client - A computer that uses software to send and receive data from a server.
Basically, a server can be any computer, even the computer you are using now (as long as it has the right software on it). In most online games, there are a few things that make up the network of playable games.
Master Server - A powerful computer that gets hosting data from each game, and then puts it in a list. This way, each client only needs to connect to that one single server to get a list of available games. Otherwise, they would need to know the direct IP of every game being played.
Hosts - When someone starts a game, they don't create a section in the companies server, they use their own computer for the server and send the basic data to the Master Server (such as the name of the server, a password if needed, and other small things.). Whatever you see in "The List", is data sent to the Master Server by all the hosts of the game.
Players - When a player goes online to look at the list of games, they ping the Master Server, which sends them the links to all the other online games being played. Then a player connects to the Host, which is where the actual game is being played.
