Face it...

The film was either a hoax to begin with or the producers saw how much of a disappointment the current games are and figured a movie based on LOS would bomb just as hard and trashed the idea. I'm pretty sure the movie ISN'T going to happen (anytime soon, at least).

I, for one, am somewhat relieved about that. I know alot of you are too young to remember or just never actually played the old games until AFTER you played LOS, but the Spyro I was raised on completely died after Insomniac stopped making them

Yeah, I'm sounding like a old nostalgia dork and you guys can delete this post if you want, but a MOVIE based on LOS would mark the end of the line for me and make me ignore and despise anything Spyro related after that. It's exactly the same thing that happened to Sonic the Hedgehog, but that's a rant for another day.

Re: Face it...

hahaha
yeah my interest got a little killed after Insomniac stopped making them, I've been playing this thing since I was three years old
The newer games are OK but they can't match up the first ones.

Re: Face it...

Maybe that's why it's OK to me; I've never played any of them a second time. XD.
Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail were better than TLOS.

The only reason I really like the NEWEST games are because I like editing with the cutscenes.

Re: Face it...

Admittedly, yes. There are some pretty epic and memorable moments in LOS, but I'd really much rather see a movie about the cute li'l purple guy and all his wacky friends runnin' around the psychadelic castles and stuff. Not another dime-a-dozen CGI flick composed almost entirely of cutscenes.

Re: Face it...

The only upside I can see to a movie based on LOS is merchendise because I NEED more dragons and plushies littered throughout my room.

Re: Face it...

That would've been cool, to have a Spyro TV series. They did it with Earthworm Jim and he was awesome.

Re: Face it...

O:)  O:)  O:)

I'm just being a saint as usual, Rurik :3

so, to avoid the risk of off-topicness, what do you think of the idea of a spyro movie?

I personally don't think it's gonna happen what with the release date being pushed back... what was it... three times now? You'd think we'd have gotten at least a LITTLE new news since the poster and story on IMBD and Velvet Octopus, but there's been none. Unless they're keeping it really secret, but what would they gain from doing that?

Re: Face it...

a movie like this I don't expect to hear much anyway. especially since I heard a long while back that it's not even going to be in theaters. and I only heard of it being pushed back once and that was into april.

Re: Face it...

Well, the best I can hope for is the DVD being reasonably priced and maybe some good merchandise.

Re: Face it...

So many 'famous' game characters changed..
Crash, Sonic, Spyro, Rayman, etc. Is Mario the only one who didn't change (So much)??
anyways, it's December guys..And the only media we still have is the cast, creators, etc, and a poster. I wonder. hmm

Re: Face it...

Thats the thing. A poster and a bit of information on IMB can fool people into thinking it's legit, but after a whole year since the information was released you'd think we'd have a bit more news. Anyone know who first found the poster, anyway?
