Re: Christmas!

Ayup, I'll be over the moon when we do. I'm learning to drive at the moment and my instructor has told me that when it snows we won't bother with a traditional lesson, rather we'll go to a car-park and practice emergency stops... He also said it doesn't hurt if you know how to do donuts on ice. XD

Which county do you live in anyway, Saphira?

Re: Christmas!

School's rarely ever closed for snow here in New York City. Although it is fun to have snowball fights after school...

I'm in Staffordshire. It's not uncommon that everywhere in the country gets snow except us...

Re: Christmas!

North Yorkshire for me, and because I live on the coast the same 'rare snow' policy applies for me.

I remember one year when it snowed and we all got the teacher that was on duty at break-time. Everyone who had a snowball in hand (even if they weren't directed at the teacher) got a detention... I didn't get caught... Hehehe...

^ I know, I heard that the south has had some. I think we're due for some tomorrow, but we'll be lucky if there's a lot.

Re: Christmas!

Maybe, according to our bad weather reporter Piet Paulusma, we will get a white christmas! How's that?

Nice. Cooler than the summer of course, but still warm. Why are you thinking of going?

Re: Christmas!

I've gotten into a habit of watching the fireworks in London at midnight on New Year's Eve/Day, I would love to watch them in real life but I have to settle for the telly...

And lucky you lot for any snow you got, it's been torrential rain all day today...

EDIT: Just looked at the weather forcast for my town... Heavy snow tomorrow, sunny intervals and snow friday, light snow saturday, sunny intervals and snow sunday and light snow monday. WOOOO!

Yeah I watch the fireworks too, if I can stay awake long enough. They're amazing.

Last year's ones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHMVdhEp … feature=iv

I'm the only person who bothers to stay up for them...

And yes, we've been forecast some snow tomorrow too. I hope so! I'm going out for lunch with my friend and it'd be great for it to snow then! big_smile

Re: Christmas!

We're all hoping it snows. My bro and I discovered a healthy alternative to snow ball fights. Whenever your car is covered in frost just scrape it off with your hands and throw it at the next person.

Re: Christmas!

We always do that to gather some snow quickly for a snowball fight when you've run out of snowballs.

Re: Christmas!

Or you just dump all of the said snow onto the ground and then roll your younger siblings in it... Either way works for me. XD

Re: Christmas!

I remember one time some friend of mine, some friends of theirs, some friends of theirs, and I made 2 teams and built snow forts. That was probably the most epic snowball fight I've ever had, especially because of our exaggerated drama ("Medic! I'm hit! I can't feel my hands!" which would probably happen after a while of digging in the snow...) I was in charge of repairing the fort and driving away invaders.

Sounds like fun. I must invest in a snowball fight, once I find my way around Reading

Re: Christmas!

Lucky, we've barely had an inch on the Yorkshire Coast and mostly it's all been hail. It's about as cold as that here though, the snow just won't settle....  <_<
