Email Fraud, Beware!

My mom got a suspicious email just now supposedly from the FBI, I was suspicious so I googled the email, it's one of the notorious Nigerian Scams/Frauds, DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY EMAIL CLAIMING TO BE FROM THE FBI WITH ADDRESSES SIMILAR TO (([email protected])), the FBI would not email a person for something, they would come in person or call them, think about it.

Re: Email Fraud, Beware!

Yeah old news mate. They've been trying to do this for years now. It's the same with banks. An email from the "banks" is sent out to people which claim that there has been a security breach and they need to enter in their password and username to ensure that they are protected. Of course this information is sent to a database where people steal money. This is called phishing

Re: Email Fraud, Beware!

I personally believe emails like this are a GOOD thing. They test the intelligence of the email holder.

Ha ha. I never check my emails. They pile up so much from all my Facebook app crap that I never bother to check 'em anymore.

Tests intelligence? How? Almost everyone knows to keep away from these emails, and those that don't are usually mentally disabled, rarely use a computer, or are have children that don't know better.

I don't find it good that the last 3 are taken advantage of because of things they can't really control very well.

That doesn't mean we don't have idiots still falling for this crap.

Shouldn't there like, be an option to configure what Facebook emails you about? Couldn't you just NOT make it send emails? I'm pretty sure that's an option.

Re: Email Fraud, Beware!

Tell me, what do you prefer:

  1. Having your email inbox spammed by email messages

OR

  1. Configuring to disable whether you get email messages

So obviously your point isn't very valid.
