Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
CLANG!
Zeel was busy forging a new axe. Though the hammer wasn't heavy, he was tired, and had never been a blacksmith before - he was just thrown into it when he became a slave. He was captured during his visit to Warfang. He was beaten for his every mistake, and while it did not hurt him as much as other dragons due to his thicker scales, he still felt the pain. He would run, but how would he run with his feet chained? He would fly, but how would he fly with his wings bo
Zeel thought, "Oh, this is such a shame... this actually wouldn't be half bad if I was paid and the food wasn't so bad. Rotten meat tastes better than what they give me. What I need is unbound wings... then I would just fly away from all this.

OOC: Glad you liked my post.
Zeel was trying to think of a way to escape. He would have tried to cut his wing bonds, but he was afraid of being seen by the guards and they were probably too strong to cut anyways. He made few weapons well - the best he could make consistently was a spear tip. Those weapons that he made that were good enough were taken away from him before they became cool, and sent somewhere else.
He had no choice. He just had to wait for an opening.

Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
Colum pulled his head from it's resting place (where he had been unceremounsly tossed to the floor). As he did, a high pitched ringing in his ears made the boy think he was going deaf, and the loss of any balence he had once known diddn't help matters.
Stumbling drunkenly from blood loss, Colum went about the painful task of trying to remember why he was... wherever the hell he was. "Stone floors...," observed Colum, dumbly, "high cealing...", he thought as he looked up and nearly fell over from the dizzing height (along with the minor concussion he was sporting. "Big, evil, scary dragon..." he continued, looking at Ulkna, "Man in robes climbing through windo...?" thought the puzzled Colum, seeinig whom he called the "Monk".
Recignition crossed Colum's clear, youthful face. He bagan makeing an ungodly dash/hobble over to the monk crying out ,"MONK! MONK! IT"S ME! IT"S ME! DO YOU REMEMBER? I DO! I REMEMBER?" was the major jist of the unintellagble sounds being projected from the excatic young boy.
As Colum made his way across the center of the room that he was navagating, the boy caught a slight flicker of green out of the corner of his eye. Mere seconds later, he felt the floor shimmy benith his blood stained boots. The boy stumbled, staggered, and slammed into the floor looking upwards. To his distress, the boy saw a most unwelcome sight, a very large, glass chandleer had detached itself from the cealing... above him.
Colum made a move to get up, bending at the waist. THis, however, backfired when he ended up lifeing his legs up into the air, instead of his head. Fealing a mindnumbing fear of death, the boy rocked back and foreward on his back untill he cound get his feet under him. When his feet were under him, the chandleer was just about on top of him (well, more of nearly through him). Colum gave a crouching kick from the ground, landing hard of his stomic, but alive.
Colum could taste blood in his mouth from where his teeth had ground his lip into tender chunks, "Blood...", he muttered, with a flood of memories comming back to him, "lots of my blood."

Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
Buck lost his grip and fell backwards. The rumble drown out everything he could hear. He quick tried to grab back on the tower. he fell at a great rate but his hand grabbed on a stone. He was breathing hard. He knew he was going to have to flee. He couldn't win against this dark dragon. After all he was only human. He looked below him and saw a a cart of hay being pulled. it was almost under him. Buck summoned his courage and moved across to the side. He knew if he lingered he would die. He was about to jump but her a crash of glass and he let go. he fell and just by luck he laid in the hay. Hopefully Ulkna had lost track of him after the fall thinking he was dead.
Jun's body was frozen. Her chest rose and fell slowly, much slow then normal. He head was slowly decaying but she could hears someone. faintly but she could still hear the words. He eyes where closed and her body was paralyzed. Her brain was the only part of her to still work. but it worked less than it used too. Much less. She need some rest.
((OOC: Buck did abit of AC (assassin's creed) stuff... ))

Ulkna laughed as he saw the human fall. The drop was high - there was no way he could've survived the fall. The dragoness was temporarily paralysed by the pain. Well it'll teach her a lesson. He thought bitterly. Humans and dragons cannot be friends. Servants to one another, but NEVER friends.
He snorted, satisfied, and looked at the huge hole in the side of the tower. Argh! I need to think before I aim. At that, he dove sharply towards the roof of the throne room and smashed through the glass. Again, it stopped in mid-air and repaired itself. Bizarre, but after all, it saved the maintenance.
Speaking of maintenance, the tower needed it. He headed to the door leading to the slave's working area...

Zeel took a break from his rather horrible attempts at weapon-making and looked around. He saw a black dragon with a scar through one of his eyes come in. He couldn't tell why, but he felt nervous. All the guards seemed to be extra careful around this dragon. Was he someone of importance?
"Stop staring and get back to work", ordered one of the guards rather brusquely.

Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
Colum picked himself off the floor, swolloed the pooling blood in his mouth, and glanced about the room he was in, thinking, "Nice, I wake up, and someone goes and trys to drop a light fixture on me. What have I done to deserve such a fate?", he thought, sarcasticlly. He knew better then anyone that he was a fiend. No illusion was in his mind about what he had done in his past, or that it made it so the his passing would go unmorned.
Seeing no imediate way out of the room (as if the only inhabatint of the room could fly), the boy felt that now would be a good time to do an inentory check. Moving to the balchony for a nice view as he worked, Colum unknotted his cloak and removed it as to have better access to his equipment. It was a small task, and was completed rather quickly on account of Colum travling light (due to a lack of funding, not out of his choice).
"Three daggers, one knife, one shortsword, four arrows, fourteen flasks," counted off Colum, pointing at each item as he counted, "and my gold purse...plus the stupid trikents." finished the boy, with a smirk, remembering what he concidered his shrewd buissness skills. "Oh, danm," he thought, holding up his shortsword and looking at the edge, "this poor thing is as dull as an old drunk's story about his family!". The boy contemplated for a moment, wondering if there was a blacksmith nearby who could fix up his toys, then wondering if he could to have them fixed, then wondering if he could get down from the tower.
Looking over the edge of the balchony, Colum wrinkled his nose at the sight. "Dragons," he thought scornfully, "a whole city of those winged vermin." The fresh anger brought on by the dislike of dragons in general drove Colum to acting foolhardy.Colum gatherd up his belonging and looked at the outer wall of the tower he was perched in. Spotting a legde ge could jam him toes end fingers into, the boy mantled the railing and grabbed onto the ledge. From this point, the boy felt and probed around for a crevase or ledge he could pun his weight on. This process of climbing by feel was normally a long, drawn out way of going about things, but Colum had done it so many times he was very praticed at such manuvers. Even with such skill, the going wasn't exactilly fast. Even worse was every now and again, the boy had to completly let go of the face of the tower and drop by way of falling. Thankfully (for him at least) the tower was in such bad condition, that about 1/2 way down, vines started appearing, givving Colum another item to grasp on his decent.
To make a long story short (long involving Colum climbing down to the courtyard, climbing out of the courtyeard, and tring to explain to a passerby exactilly why he was scaflding everything around him, asking the same passerby where a blacksmith could be found (which seemed to horrify the dragon who he was speaking with), and finally getting to the blacksmith) Colum entered into a smithy.
Colum glanced about and took in the sights of the smithy. Two dragon guards gathered close to a black dragon occupied the space to the far end of the shop. On the other end was a young dragon, Colum guessed male from the body shape. The dragon was hammering on an anvil, forging some tool that would then be sold. Colum could't tell what color the dragon was as the dragon was covered in grease, grime, soot, ash, and sweat. The dragon was also chanied to the walls of the shop.
"Do dragons keep slaves?" pondered Colum, as he spoke. "OY! YOU!" began Colum, pointing at the dragon who was working away at the anvil, "YOU, SLAVE DRAGON!"

Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
Zeel was busy smithing another axe head. He wasn't doing a very good job, either - it looked more like a lump of metal with a sharp edge than anything with form. Suddenly, he heard a voice calling out at him.
He looked in its general direction to see a human. Zeel hadn't seen much humans. On the few occasions he did see humans, he was often the target of their bows (and had even took a shot). They were always afraid of him trying to steal their livestock, or their catch from hunts, or their weapons, or their gold.
"Are you talking to me?", Zeel asked. He wondered whether the guards would take any action.

Re: A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)
Colum fought the urge to curl his lip at the dragon, "Along with being an oversized lizard, it's an idiot too." he thought, holding the distain from his face and voice as he spoke.
"Yes, you, dragon with the anvil and hammer. Where is your master," asked Colum, "or whomever runs this smithy?" he clarified, not knowing how dragon society worked. "I have some blades that need a fine edge, and I don't know what you charge for the service around here."
Colum made shure to note that the dragon before him did not look happy. "That could mean aloth of things," thought Colum, "anything from his family selling him into slavery or him being captured. He looks malnurished, but oddly whole and unbeaten... although it's not like I can see a black bruise through the soot covering this lizard."

This is hopeless. Totally hopeless. Will she die...? As Link was still looking at the motionless Dragon, he decided that this was not an end of a live. "Get up. I can feel you're still alive..." or at least... I hope... he thought. How could someone kill somebody without wounds? Right, mental spells. This does not mean this one's dead, but heavily paralyzed. He looked at the human. A human could never do something like that. So how did he get up there when a Dragon was here? ...no... that would be weird... Dragons and humans are not supposed to be fiends. Or are they? Link was confused. He knew the human was probarbly a friend. That Dragon in that tower must have done the trick. Good thing he didn't see me. Kinda weird that he didn't. Or did he? Then I'm in danger. But I can't leave this Dragon behind. No. I'll stay here. and that was what Link did. He stood on a rock in front of the castle, the wind blowing in his manes. He was watching quietly over the Dragon and for incoming attacks, as he sometimes still tried to communicate with the Dragon.

Zeel's face started to change from an expression of tiredness to an expression of anger.
" I'll have you know that I can kill you even with these bonds! And I'm guessing that if I sharpen this blade, you'll use it to kill me and others of my race. What do you think I'm stealing now? Your land? Your air? Your personal space?"
While he was bad at forging new weapons, Zeel could easily sharpen or repair a broken weapon - sharpening just required a whetting stone, and broken weapons just needed a little service.
"Anyways, I do not know who my master is - I'm guessing whoever it is that ordered my capture. Now leave me in peace."

"Your master? That would be me." Ulkna stood beside a blue slave dragon. "And as my servant, you will do as I say. Now, stop nattering and get back to work!" He smacked the dragon on the back of the head.
He smirked and turned to the human. "Well you've made a miraculous recovery. And I cannot comprehend how you escaped the tower. Hmm... nimble aren't you? Now, do you still wish to join the army as a new recruit? If not, get lost and stop wasting my time."

Buck was breathing hard. He rubbed his eyes to get the hay out. The cart was moving slowly along. He waited then hopped out. He bushed off the hay and looked about. He was in the poor district of Warfang. The Building where in dire need of repair but no dragon seemed to care. Then Buck remembered. There where barely any humans in Warfang. Only dragons. Lucky Ulkna would think he was dead so he wasn't being Searched for, but he had to not draw attention to himself. Dragons didn't like humans and normally reward where there for humans. Buck cleaned himself of hay and climbed a roof and looked about. He was far from the Spire. He legs then collapse. He need rest. He put his clock around him to let him sleep. A few hours would do the trick.
Jun slowly got feeling in her figures and feet. Her mouth slowly started to get it's feeling back and her eyelids opened slowly. Her brain was trying it's best to repair it's self from the metal pain she had just had. Her breathing was getting more to the normal rate. Then when her eyes fully opened she saw a blur figure. she still couldn't moved most of her body but heard more of the things the blurred figure said.
She wanted to say something but she couldn't Her eyelids slide back down she tried to opened them but gave up. She need rest. She could feel her heart pick up in beats.

Zeel was very angry, and the blow he received from Ulkna was starting to push him.
"Oh, yeah, a slave that's underfed, worked to exhaustion and beyond, and is given a job he's never done before is supposed to be a wonderful worker," he replied sarcastically. "And all these beatings I receive every few minutes are certainly encouraging me to work harder!"

"Very well. I am happy to see you can still open your eyes. I thought you were done for, ya know?!" Link felt relieved. He saw the Dragon move a little, opening her eyes slowly. "I bet you need some rest for sure. Can you still move? If you can, then stand up and walk with all your power. We need to get away here as soon as possible." Link looked around and saw this human, far away, standing on the roof. He wasn't affraid for humans or angry at them, like many other Dragons did. Only the fact that the archer that shot him was an idiot did not mean that all humans wanted to kill him. "Does he belong to you?" he asked.
