Mull sat back in her cellar and seriously contemplated murder. With a few careful words she could have them all dead by the end of the week. They could be useful, she supposed, but Mull hated dealing with wanna-be-heroes. There was too much at stake for her to just ignore help though. It was bloody annoying, it was. All of a sudden she'd been handed an unofficial mayorship, just because people were scared, and now she had to think of other people. Responsibility could take a hike, most times, but she'd go up there and see hatred festering between conqueror and conquered, and realise what a slaughter it would be if the villagers rose up blindly. Poor fools.

Cursing under her breath, she stomped back up the stairs and out into the light.

Mitch on the other hand had finally reach the other side of the mountain. It was that hard to find the crash site considering it had now left a large plain completely black and devoid of all live. Mitch wondered around the site seeing ruins of buildings, small dragon cuddled up with their dead parents. Other things he saw where some things he loathed. looters made looters had come about finding stuff that they could take freely. The mutterings of the looters surrounding the site as well as the crying of the dragons. Mitch found stuff that he would take but knew this wasn't the time. "Those poor souls.." he muttered sadly seeing corpse. Mitch sniffed the foul air. Decay, blood, many of the foul things he could smell.

Ophelia sat patiently as a young fawn gently wrapped bandages around her neck. Ornlu approached her and asked if she wanted him to stay. "Um... yes please." She whispered, "Zith and Mull are not exactly fun and games." She smirked and smiled.

"Finished darlin'." The fawn said, making sure the bandages were securely tied.

Ophelia smiled and nodded in gratitude. "Thank you. I'll try to repay you eventually." She stood up and flexed her neck. The bandages were very tight, but at least they stopped the bleeding.

She observed Mull in the distance coming out of a house. "I know she is hard to get along with, but we need to help her to take care of the villagers." She said to Ornlu. Although she is being very bossy... She thought, I hope helping them is her priority and not something else... She looked up at the crescent moon and noted its position. "Nearly midnight already. Let's do all we can before we rest."

Zephyr flew high through the starry skies. It remembered him to his years of hunting and destroying together with his friends. They always flew high at night. "Now" he said "Now I have to watch over those guys." He went to just above the forest and yelled: "Everyone allright? Shall we stay here and sleep?"

Ophelia heard a voice and looked up. "Oh, Zephyr!" She smiled at her friend. "Yes, eventually. But we need to make sure the villagers are safe first. And we could do with getting rid of the last of the bandits." She observed her surroundings. Several bandits were either lying on the ground unconscious, or harassing villagers. She scowled and looked back up at Zephyr. "Will you help us?"

"Poor things" Zephyr smiled when he saw the bandits lying on the ground. "Shall I make sure they're dead?" He smiled even more. "If you guys just rest over here, I'll make sure no one hurts you."

"Who says a lady can't do the fighting?" Ophelia grinned. She winked at Zephyr cheekily. "It's OK, we can go on a bit more. We just need to make sure they go away and stay away." She said, raising her hind leg and kicking a bandit that was trying to sneak up on her from behind.

Ophelia frowned. There weren't as many bandits as there was in the previous village, but they seemed to come out of nowhere. If I can just clear out the unconscious ones and either kill or frighten away the others, things will get better... She thought uneasily. She quickly froze one unfortunate one that got too close. She glanced around her and fixed her gaze on the family of fawns that helped her. A bandit was trashing their little house, while they cowered in the corner, terrified.

Ophelia snarled and darted forward. "Leave them alone, you cretin!" She yelled.

Zithdaitoh lurked in the shadows near the bandit that Ophelia had darted towards. He reached back along the helmet he wore and drew two pieces of it forward to form a long and very sharp blade.

...but the bandit was already killed when Zephyr came. "Good job, Zith. I can see why they wanted you to kill Ophelia." He liked to compliment people with a bit of sarcasm. "But what did they possibly want? Is there something important there, Ophelia?"

Ophelia skidded to a halt as she saw Zith strike. "Oh! Thanks I guess..." She gave him a quick and wary smile. She trotted over to the family, who were still huddled together in the corner of their home. "Are you all OK. He didn't hurt you did he?" They shook their heads and remained in quiet shock.

Then Zephyr came in. "I don't know." She answered. She then put her mouth next to Zephyr's ear and whispered, "They seem pretty poor, like everyone else here. Perhaps he was just looking for any money he could find."

Mull gazed in horror at the scene. They were fighting! The fools!
"What the hell do you think you're doing!" she grabbed the shadow dragon by the scruff of his neck and threw him aside, "Fools all around me!"
She darted into the house that Ophelia, that was her name, had walked into. She gently tapped Ophelia on the shoulder.

Mull dealt the dragon a severe backhand across the face. "Idiots! You think violence will make it all better don't you! Well, the people you've been killing were this town's police force. This town is under the protection of those people. They're not bandits, they're empire-builders. And now that you've killed several out in the open, they will retaliate." Mull gave a tight nod to the family, "What was the accusation?"
"Weapon smuggling." The mother of the family answered timidly, not directly meeting Mull's eyes.
Mull grunted satisfaction and looked back, "Sure, it's no perfect arrangement, but it wasn't that bad. And in a few days, half of them will go out to find another settlement to hire themselves to."
