Re: Twilight & New Moon
Doesn't she jump off a cliff in New Moon just to hear Edward before going beast with Jacob? (yeah, I know their names from the spawns who enjoy the series.)

I read that she apparently does... At least the jumping off the cliff part anyway.

Re: Twilight & New Moon
I read three of the books about a year ago, before it was some obsession (Note that the books and the movie ARE a waste of time, btw)
First one: Girl rambles on about vampire's sparklyness.
Second one: Vampire leaves, girl is so pathetically helpless, keeps trying to kill herself to hear an imaginary voice in her head, saves vampire, the end.
Third one: Girl and vampire back at home. Girl spends whole book debating over werewolf or vampire. "Evil" vampire comes back and gets killed. The end.
I didn't read the fourth one, but apparently that was a smart move according to several of my friends.

Re: Twilight & New Moon
Ugh... please, don't remind me. All these girls at my school are going crazy over this movie. I read the first book. Hated every single word of it. Normally when I finish a book I just lay it down gently beside me. Twilight? I casually tossed it over my shoulder behind me and it hit a wall. Not that I cared that it hit the wall. I even said "Well... that's ten hours of my life I'll never get back."

Re: Twilight & New Moon
Pretty much every girl in my residence hall likes Twilight. My roommate and some of her friends are off seeing New Moon right now, and she left a sign on our door that says "New Moon tonight! Booyah!"
I've even met a Twilight fanboy who insisted that it's OK for Edward to stalk Bella because "he loves her." -__-
I didn't read the fourth one, but apparently that was a smart move according to several of my friends.
They are correct. At least the first three were... interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading, but this one just dragged on and on and on.
Summary of Breaking Dawn:
My roommate hasn't read Eclipse or Breaking Dawn yet, but I told her I wouldn't spoil the ending. *evil smile* Even some of the biggest Twilight fans ended up hating the series because of Breaking Dawn.

You should write on their sign.

Re: Twilight & New Moon
I can understand why some people could read the books, but the characters are, for the most part, downright terrible. Poor characterization, design, etc.
if the characters were better and a few things were screwed with, I think we may have had a good book series. instead, we get a wet dream.

^ Well technically Edward isn't real so they didn't really "use" him, unless you mean the actor...

One of my friends came by my door and laughed her head off at it. XD
I erased it before my roommate came back because I wanted to explain when she got back that it was just a joke and all that so I don't seem like a rabid anti,
but she didn't come back until like 3 in the morning and I wanted to go to sleep. D:

My poor Computer Networking teacher got dragged to it by his wife and three daughters. He wanted to smack his wife in the mouth because it's bad for him to stare at Jennifer Love Hewitt and yet she and all the female, and um...male....members of the audience swooned when some Indian boy took his shirt off.

Re: Twilight & New Moon
I believe Stephen King sums Stephenie Meyer and Twilight up very nicely:
"The real difference them is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."
Stephen King obviously knows good writers when he sees them. I agree 100% with Stephen King. My friend and I saw Planet 51 the other night, and the theater was jam-packed with fangirls and fanboys going to see New Moon and apparently New Moon made 76.2 million at the box office.
Ugh what a waste, the books are ten times better

Re: Twilight & New Moon
Having not seen or read any of them I will decline comment on their quality... so far as I know they might be great... They may not be too bad because 60% or people's opinion of a movie or book comes from the way they enter it... So with such an event will automaticaly spawn a hate of it...
What I CAN NOT stand about the whole thing is that about 5% of people who have seen the movie or read the book have dramaticaly altered their lives to fit themselves into the mold of an emotinaly unstable teen. That is very typical of obsession. Now I have a whole thing against obsession too but the fact is that it is not always bad. As in the case of Star Wars and Harry Potter (Harry Potter I have never seen) such obsession was not a bad thing. Yes, Yes they may have started acting a little cooky to fit the mold (as obsession causes most all people to do sub-conciously), but these characters all had their minds set upon a goal that was at the heart of a greater good.
The character (Bella?) in Twilight is an over cliched version of an unstable teen who has no other goal at heart other than a selfish love. It's just not good for society as a whole to just be going this... We need people who will fight for the greater good.. not just a personal gain...
If tomorrow may never come, and yesterday is just a memory, then what is today worth?

Re: Twilight & New Moon
On facebook, there was a girl who dumped her bf because she wanted Edward.
Yes, she thinks Edward is real.
Also, my gf dragged me to see the movie last saturday. The only thing that made watching this crap bearable was the werewolf parts.
