The Eye of the Storm

OOC: Pfffffff, I'll call it Granton. It's a good name for a town, I reckon. I'll settle the warband there, and have Mull do a little "Solid-snake" style creepin before you guys get here.

They had cheered. They had actually cheered. There was an awful brilliance to people who could see the advantage in someone else's death. Like politicians. Mull hated politicians with a vengeance. It was a stereotypical hatred, but she didn't care. Just because something was a stereotype, didn't make it necessarily incorrect.

She reviewed what she had seen. It seemed that the few dragons she had originally followed were only a fraction of the warband. They had met and merged with five other groups, till the warband was eight times larger. Enough to siege a city like Cindran, though they had actually just been waiting for the meteor. It seemed wasteful, though perhaps this was a demonstration of power. She doubted it though. The meteor was enough by far, the raidings were unneccessary. And now they had simply swanned into this sizeable town, Granton, as a slightly worn sign had told her. They'd just come in and pointed at the horizon. The arrogance of people who had power to back it up.

She resolved to gather as much information as possible. The warband was knee-deep in cider. All she had to do was wait till a lone celabrator stumbled out, and she'd get all the information she'd need. If the subject was sutiably incapacitated, then she might not even need to play with organs.

"Guys I'm not going to the west I'm going to check out the crash site." Mitch told them. He smiled lightly before he took off . He hovered a few feet away from them "I'll find you both later." he said with a wink. He flew off above the woods to the base of the mountains. He looked at them as he landed. "Pass seems the only way to get to the crash site." he muttered as he watched as the dragon made crack in the passage made a simple path worn from travel. He stepped on the path and started to walk along into the passage which was the only mapped part of the mountain.

"OK then, be careful." She smiled at Mitch as he flew away. She shifted her gaze back to the half-destroyed mountain. How peculiar... She suddenly thought.

She turned back to Zephyr and Pridewing. "Come on then." At that she bounded ahead into the forest.

Ophelia walked briskly through the forest. Mitch mentioned something about Shadow Dragons before... I hope they aren't dangerous... She thought nervously.

As Ophelia trotted hastily through the forest, she felt deeply troubled, but by what was unclear to her. I wonder... that meteor...

"It's nothing." She replied. She then hesitated. "OK, it's not nothing. That... meteor is troubling me. Firstly, why did it have to hit Cindran? Just there. It was big enough to destroy us all. Yet it seems to me that the devastation was channelled to Cindran only. This gives me the impression that the city was deliberately targeted. But why?"

She slowly started walking again, towards Pridewing. "But I'm probably completely wrong." She said with a shy smile. "It's just the impression I get, that's all."

Abruptly, Zithdaitoh saw something in the distance. It looked like a couple of dragons, and so he swiftly and silently crept closer...

Ophelia suddenly stopped. She heard and smelled nothing abnormal, but her instincts were on edge. Something was wrong.

"Come on." She said to Pridewing. "Let's move quicker."

OOC: At the moment, I'm not sure what I want to have Zithdaitoh do... According to his nature, he would either strike suddenly, or just abruptly start talking to your characters.

Ophelia felt nervous. The atmosphere was different somehow; there was a strange feeling of impending doom. She also felt that something was watching them. She had spend too much time on her own relying on her own instincts to get it wrong.

Again, she quickened her pace more, overtaking Pridewing.

"I'm not crazy!" She replied, flustered. She scanned her surroundings frantically. The feeling was getting worse. Their predator was getting closer.

"I mean it Pridewing, come on. I don't like this. We're being watched. Be ready." She glanced to her left and saw a pair of glowing eyes. "My God... Run!" She darted away.

Zithdaitoh stared at the silver dragon for a moment, before lifting one of his claws and forming one of the explosive shadow spheres he was renowned for.

OOC: Those spheres don't inflict much damage if they don't score a direct hit.
