Need your preference
I have been thinking since i like writing so much, i decided to write a romance. (My idea was sort of inspired by the Twilight Saga but it's not going to be like it) It's about a girl named Katie who had a vampire boyfriend and broke up with him after being bitten. Now she's part vampire and moved to Washington (Same place but it'll be a different story line) to spend time with her dad and stepmother (who she thinks doesn't like her just because of her looks) She meets some old friends but there have been mysterious murders lately in Washington.
That's all i have so far, i need help. Do you think it's good? Please be honest, i can take whatever you post. I need your preference on this.

Re: Need your preference
Hmm so far seems pretty nice
Remember to not copy twilight to much, because personally their 'love' theme
is WAY overused, it's not special
Try to put a lot of time into putting another lover in the heart of 'Katie'
Be hmm idk.. different and unique, something.. well unexpected
so it can surprise your audiences =3 ;D
And just make it all click and be very detailed,
just so much fun to read the little things that make it all
fall in place.

Re: Need your preference
what do you mean by "putting another lover in the heart of 'Katie'"? I'm confused by that.

Re: Need your preference
I was sort of going that way with one of her old friends but he's a werewolf so...i was thinking that during her time there, she meets his friends and likes one of them. (he's the same a werewolf)

Re: Need your preference
The whole Twilight plot is dead to me...just plain annoying now. If I was to ever write a romance again it would be a very unexpected and tormenting one...to the characters and to the people reading it *evil laugh* Putting those huge tense moments into a romance can really help boost the overall appeal and feel to the readers. Much better then something cliched and clearly obvious.

Re: Need your preference
I, personally, prefer Mac & Cheese.
But on the serious side, that kind of storyline seems quite mainstream.
And too close to Twilight, so it wouldn't be very good.

Re: Need your preference
Never read Twilight, because the fact that a vampire can go into the sun and not burst into flames angers me, dispite the fact they lived there long enough to get used to it or something angers me more,
But to be on topic Your ideals sound good, but the hardest part about trying to write something and *if you want to get it published like i hope with mine* If the fact that some times your book ideas seem to be distant enough, but once you start writing they tend to follow to close to the book that inspired you. So my advice is Sounds lovely, but be careful X3
Like my latest that is acctualy going better then all my other hope to be books: Furry Fantasy *dont ask, but if you had my mind you'd under stand* I just choose two of the things i love in life and realized how sometimes they go together, and i just poped a story up and its imprinted in me head. But since I havent read Twilight id say seems like a really good book idea.

Re: Need your preference
Yeah, you're right, writing it is hard especially when your stuck. And I'm trying to not get it exactly like Twilight, if i do though, I can think of something else to get it away from that idea.

Re: Need your preference
If you get a writters block read what you have so far, rethink what your going for and figure out a way to connect it. Like if you have a paragraph you know you want in the future, rethink how were you are at is going to get there. And when you know then figure out how to word it. Auto bowldoswer for that wall the writers block makes.

No no, writers block is like a mental block that writers have when they can't really produce ideas or put them down on paper. It happens to all writers on occasion and requires a little self motivation to get past it.

Re: Need your preference
You dont want to find one and It finds you. A writers block is something that when you are working upon your story and suddenly You just cant think of anything. Your train of thought derails and makes a catastrophic disaster that causes months of trouble trying to get it fixed and running again. In other words, You run out of ideas and dont know what to right because its a mental block. This is acctualy common. But what i said is what helps get me out of writters block most of the time. If nothing else I back track and delete all up to what caused this trouble and rethink a way through.

Re: Need your preference
Oh, I see. I've had those before but then after a day or two i get back on track. It's hard now with school and the homework but i manage to find some time on here and on my story. I'm not use to hearing the term writers block since i have started to write little stories. (that was about maybe a year or two ago, i think) but now i know what it is.
