Who will win the console wars?

Wii will win the first half, but once ps3's price gets cut and good games come out ps3 will come out on top by 2009.

1st-ps3
2nd-xbox 360
3rd-Nintendo Wii

As long as wii is the cheapest, it will sell a lot of consoles.

I agree with you spyrorocks, thats why i put wii will win the first half, untill the ps3 has another price drop(was $600 now its only $500usd) it wont sell as much as wii. Eventually i think the wiimote(dont get me wrong i own a wii and i love it) will become a gimmick. PS3 should last arouund 10 years according to sony, so it will have a much longer lifespan then wii which should only last 5 or 6 years.

As of now, Wii still comes at the top because of it's purpose being more of a family console. But at least PS3 is selling better than Xbox right now. Hopefully PS3 will get to the top soon enough >_<

Regular family meaning....me. xD I'd have to say that XBox 360 will sell the most, it's the most popular I think. PS3 is too expensive.

in the UK this is what i say

Wii: meh noy really bothered about it

PS3: meh PS2 is better

Xbox 360: to be honest this is the best console yet

i think the xbox 360 is the best out of the 3

Lack of good games on PS3 has affected it sales abit. When games like Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier, Final Fantasy, crash & spyro games (hope previous 2 will come to ps3 soon) will make the ps3 more popular and increase its sales (when price drops).

PS2 is by far still the best console out on the market as it has sold more than 100 million units world wide.

yeah i must admit the PS2 is the best console but the newer consoles are pathetically useless except the 360. The 360 had games alot more worth playing than most consoles and extreme graphics but with the Wii the graphics were absolutely crap and the PS3 the games lagged alot with the PS3 i found that it had more problems that the others it burned out more and it was way more to complex to keep it running properly. The Wii i have never owned and i dont want to because the graphics suck the way of playing the games on it will annoy me and the games on it are mainly on the gamecube so i thought whats he point. The XBOX 360 however was my favourite i liked the graphics, the games, the controllers and the gameplay on the games.

so from that explaination i prefer the XBOX 360 a lot more than the other 2 consoles

Why PS3 is so expensive? Well it is because it is ready for the future... well it has a blu-ray drive, and it is capable of Full HD (1080p).

From what I've seen, the PS3 is the most expensive, the least talked about, and the slower to release console with fewer games on it then the other two. If it was cheaper, it probably would've trumped all the other consoles. I think the PS3 may get more profit b/c microsoft is having a waranty money issue with this red ring of death thing on the xbox.

Right now the wii is outselling the ps3 6-1. Is expected to be 7-1 this month.
wii will catch up to 360 by march but will not keep its lead.
PS3 just had a price drop 599 to 499 usd but a new 80gb version will be avalible.
Xbox 360 Elite $479
360 Premium 400$
once ps3 gets some good games AND it costs less or the same as 360 but that wont hppen for a few years.
Wii is fun but it becomes a gimmick after a while.
PS3 will last 10 years it is not as good as the ps2 right now but that could change over the next few years.

I know microsoft has sold like 10m 360's But ALL have to be returned because of falty hardware. Because of this Wii -> PS3 -> Xbox360

However, for the next 5-6 years Nintendo will have a newer console (something like Wii2 I`ll bet). Sure, the PS3 may last so long, but then it`ll be competing against not one, but two generations of consoles, and if they push the power of XBox 360 and Wii any further (especially if Nintendo can combine Wii`s wireless capability with a cheap yet efficient graphic system that matches or even surpasses Sony and Microsoft`s own), PS3 will have some serious competition.

I can see how Wii`s wireless control might eventually become a gimmick, but it will always have those exclusive franchises to fall back on, and it`s graphics are still better than GCN`s. Although, Wii isn`t the only console using that particular "gimmick". Sixaxis, anyone?

That is true, But remember PS2 it is outselling 360 AND PS3 worldwide, so, by the slim chance ps3 does as well as ps2 it will be able to compete with the next generation. P.S i meant this generation, once a the new MS,Nintendo and sony release thier new consoles it will be the 8th generation. I think ps3 will outsell wii and 360, not the 8th generation consoles, but thats a long way away lets enjoy this round of consoles for now. smile

Yeah, how good these generation consoles are (well, how good the Wii is anyway) it makes me wonder if it could get any better than this, so I can't wait to see what the future holds.

There was an artical about nintendo purchasing millions of visor-like devices to wear and see in virtual reality... just a rumor though.
at e3 last week nintendo announced wii fit, a scale type thing that sits on the floor that you run on, it sences your body movements. heres the link. http://youtube.com/watch?v=5oNVIcMnZh4

Great technology tbh... but... Nintendo always misses hardware part, I mean processor and that.

Anyways, I have a PS2, and so does my dad, and we did have the old PS2 (you know, those big ones, the first PS2's that came out) but we don't have it anymore (long story) and personally I like the PS2 the best and I REALLY want a Wii, and it looks so fun, and the Wii Fit thing looks cool too. Trust me...the Wii looks cool until you get one. I thought 'WOW you can hit them with your sword by moving your hand!'
But then I played it at a friend's house. They are very fun for the first couple of hours...and then they get very boring. A limited amount of games and Wii Sports is probably the best game fpor it still apart from RE(which is quite embarassing considering it's a launch title)
