North American Union Crisis

To anyone here that lives in Canada, U.S., and Mexico, this is surely a cause for alarm.

Before President Bush left the office he screwed everyone living in n. america royally. This union to make one government will not stop here. It will expand.

Next they'll say "Hey, lets join with South America and call it the Americas!" then Europe will be next, then Asia etc.

It will continue till we have a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.

What do you think of this Spyroforum? I know that I'm seriously scared and freaked out by this, I hope the ppl of our three countries rise up with an unanimous "NO" to this union.

I live in the UK so unless it progresses and includes Europe then it doesn't concern me.
But my opinion is this: I do think that some sort of mini-government (or at least a group of representatives) between Canada, the US and Mexico wouldn't be a really bad idea. I would allow ideas to be passed on and would (hopefully) improve relations.
However I do agree that having one joint government with lots of power wouldn't be a clever idea. True it might make the countries as a whole more powerful, but one governing body to sort out three nations? No ta. They would all worry that they would lose power or the countries wouldn't be their own countries anymore.
Man, I hate politics, I can never explain myself properly... XD

What happens if the world is unified under one government? No more war, no more communism (I hope), and no more need for nuclear weapons (this is actually an idea I gave someone in a story I'm working on, albeit not in the same setting, but then I've been thinking of it myself). There would be a need for representatives for every x people that exist. That's an elusive dream, however, and would dilute culture very much, would create much rebellion and cause loads of other problems that I'm not thinking about right now, so I do not support it.

As for unifying North America? I don't think that anyone wants to inherit our $1,000,000,000,000+ in debt. Also, what happens with the dissonance in laws? Although illegal immigrants from Mexico to NA would be pardoned...

For us Americans joining governments ...

Mexico? No.
Canada? Yeah, that could work.

Those Eastern countries? No.

Then again, A Guy is right. We are in a lod of debt right now. With Obama,
it will only get worse. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we accidentally nuked
ourselves.
