ANYTHING new?

Ok, I have been starting to worry. Not once since I have been here have we went this long without any Spyro news. And the new activision forums weren't even news on Spyro.

So I was just wondering if ANYONE knows something that happened between then and now. About the movie, or a new game, or anything at all.

I know I should be more patient, but it has been half a year. I use to check on the news every day. Then every other day, then once a week, now I haven't checked since March.

I know that news will be added if anyone finds any, but I am hoping that there are other things out right now.

Anyone?

Well, there is the movie that's coming out this year. Another problem is that they ended the LoS trilogy... so that leaves numerous different directions for Spyro to take. Couple that with the issue of the Activision Blizzard merger (Spyro only to remain with Activision if it sells sufficiently & Chris Wilson's reassignment) and that'd explain why we know nothing of a new Spyro game. I'm thinking we'll learn of something around early 2010 (provided the movie doesn't ruin it for Spyro).

hmm if this movie is rubbish for spyro i dont think it will be good for the franchise sad , but best to be postive and expect whats coming will be good big_smile

Well I had a long absence too and when I got back the Legacy of Ages forum was gone and no info at all (if someone could let me know what happened to it that'd be nice). hmm

And concerning the Spyro film, there's been hardly any info at all. Well none that's been OFFICIALLY announced anyway - just the occasional rumour.

Nothing on the next Spyro game either. If there was a game later this year we would've heard about it by now (I remember hearing about DotD in April last year).

Yea, just enough to let us know what is going to happen... Like are they going to bring back classic, keep the original, have DotD gameplay, or (please not) drop Spyro completely...

I just hope we would get some info on the next game. Everyone knows the movie will be horrible... The producers of Eragon? Who would put that up on the poster... And 3d? 90% of all 3d movies are terrible.

Yeah if we could just know what's gonna happen, i.e. if there's gonna be a game or just the movie or both.

They won't drop Spyro completely, as Chris Wilson said this on the old Sierra forums. And they're very likely to continue the story after DotD.

We don't know if the next game will be developed by EL or not, and as for the film, well... I have my hopes and my doubts. Eragon was... mediocre. Let's hope that the Spyro film is better.

Maybe this is a good sign that the developers are actually taking the time to make a decent Spyro title. You could tell DotD was rushed... the signs were everywhere that the development team lacked the time to put together a decent final product. >.>

thats true, i realised there were more mistakes when RedDragonX posted a video on spyro live chat which was a spoof of spyro but using cut scenes and gameplay scenes to make it, to be honest its quite funny reallly and shows DOTD's weak points.

As of right now the only news we have is that the movie is still set for a Christmas release time with the possibility of it being pushed back.

Any other news has yet to be announced, but I feel that any information about a new game will not come out until after this movie has done its thing.

honestly, i hope they do push it back so they can work on it more. this should be a good movie, and not the theatrical equivalent of Enter The Dragonfly.

Aura24 asked someone, apparently, and they said that there's been a few problems regarding the TLoS movie, which is why it's been delayed. Something about merging companies, I think...

If there is a Spyro Film and it is really real, they can take till twenty fifteen to finish it in my opinion, if that's what it takes to buck the trend of video game~film conversions.

Ive got news tongue , but its on the spyro movie section, so if you want the news i found go there XD, basicly its on where the film is animated and produced, wheres its animated is pretty weird to me... but i suppose its cheaper there.
