Re: hope oridginall spyro will be back
Ever heard of a game called "psyconauts". That game failed mainly cause of the M rating.
Another example: Dragon Rage.
The G and PG rating were why TLOS was so popular IMO, they were dark Dragon games Which were still 4 kids.

Oh here we go again. -.-
Psychonauts is rated T, I've got the box right in front of me, and so is Dragon Rage. And what makes you think the age rating killed them? I haven't seen you put forth ANYTHING to prove this idea.

Where in the world did you get the info of both being rated M? Check your sources.
Now back to the topic: ...The world that Spyro inhabits still remains a mystery in many aspects. What seems to need explanation?
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

That's true, here are a few of my questions:
1. What happened after the destroyer blew up the planet multiple times when each purple dragon was born?
2. Who are the shadow monsters?
3. What happened to the apes?

They're rated M in australia, Theres no T rating here. And basicly what im saying is that They look like kids games, especilaly psyconauts, but have m and T ratings, which restrict the ages of people playing (Parents would rather buy a g game or atleast pg for their 7 year olds). Dragon Rage seems linda like an adult game, but adults Are not really into serious dragon games, dragons appeal more to kids, that is why TLOS was so popular.
What proof do you need? i cant proove anything, i cant proove that ET the video game didnt sell well cause it sucked.
But the evidence is kinda obvious.
While a special audience may want an M game, it wont sell well.

I didn't know about the T rating, but moving on...
I don't completely disagree with your idea regarding Psychonauts then, I thinks its financial failure is similar to what some people think happened to Beyond Good and Evil. It was just a game that was hard to put into one of the already established categories for games, so most people passed it by, not nowing what to expect. Not the same as your idea, but a similar concept. Problem is, my idea has just a much proof for it as yours... both concepts are merely speculation.
Dragon Rage is a completely different case. It was a game that fit with its rating. It had violence, gory dismemberment, and a dark storyline. What makes you think the dragons made everyone think it was a kids game? Who says dragons are for kids? I don't recall hearing it anywhere. You're putting this up your ideas as truth, again.
As for TLOS, I'd say the reason it is more popular is because of Spyro, a well-recognized character with a history of good games.
And the ET example is horribly off. Your suggestion for why these games failed is a lot more complicated than "It's a bad game," which basically spells the doom of any title. Yes, the evidence IS obvious for ET, the only game to date (iirc) that had its own creators burying the cartridges in the desert, but it isn't as strong for what you are suggesting.
