Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I wouldn't call every depressed person a big fan; I'm at a pretty depressing point in my life right now but I don't mope around all day and blab about twilight and obsess over Edward.

Well we can still go with the vast majority of them wink

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

Fangirls have ruined the books for most people, given that they are still good books, but the fans make such a huge deal and such that nobody seems to want to see what everything's all about. Oh and they ruined the movie too.....no wait....hollywood did that.

And Shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command.
So we shall flow river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I would argue that the Twilight "saga" are not good books, but that's just me. For one thing, they glorify things such as pedophilia and abusive relationships. Bella is a total Mary Sue. And let's not forget Stephenie Meyer's abuse of the poor thesaurus.

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

*sighs* I'm not a fan of the Twilight series. I'll acknowledge that they are books. Books, yes, badly written, highly popular (for no good reason), and mostly read by 15 year old girls, 6 year old boys, and 50 year old mums. I'm just sick and tired of the Edward craze, and the terrible job that was done on the movie. I was really hoping they'd improve the plot in the movie....

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I am ashamed of the fact that I was once a Twihard. (In case you don't know, that's slang for a serious twilight fan)  It wasn't until a couple months ago that I realized the series is just a piece of crap.  Especially number 4, Breaking Dawn.  Stephenie Meyer isn't the best writer in the world.

What saved me from my Twilight obsession, you ask?  The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith.  Another popular vampire romance author.  VAMPIRES SHOULD HAVE FANGS AND THEY SHOULD NOT SPARKLE!!!  In The Vampire Diaries, there are actually a lot of horror themes mixed in with the romance, like these mysterious killings that have been going on and the evil spirit lurking around in the cemetery, along with the vampires of course.  And the romance isn't ally gooey like Twilight.  Bleah.  Actually, I think Stephenie copied of L.J.  Why?  Because the storylines are so amazingly similar.  I think S.Meyer lied about having never read any vampire books before.  And L.J. couldn't have copied off S.M because her  first vampire diaries books came out in 1993, TWELVE YEARS BEFORE TWILIGHT!!!!!

Actually, I made a list of how many major similarities there are between the two series.  I ended up with 37 main similarities.  There were more, but I was too tired to write them down.

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

<_> Twilight drives me nuts!! My brother and his goofy friends have been going on about Twilight since they've seen the movie in the cinemas!!
CRAZY PEOPLE!!! And TWILIGHT IS A CRAZY FILM! I don't really see the point! I used to like it.... now I hate it! It "magically" brings chaos to your lives.
What am I to do with a bunch of obsessed idiots dancing around the place like monkeys with sugar rush???!!!
TWILIGHT IS EBIL! I hate it in every single way!

Vampires shouldn't sparkle either. They're supposed to turn to stone or melt when sunlight touches them.
I clearly don't agree with the shimmer shimmer 'nd sparkle sparkle; it makes it quite lame. I like vampire stuff that include main vampy things.
They don't show much vampiry acts in Twilight, it just ruins it. I'm intrested in reading the twilight series though....

Oh, me too.  I can't believe I once liked Twilight.
See this post by me here:http://www.spyroforum.com/topic-1943-15.html (Disregard that bit about Dragon Heat and Must Love Dragons.  I've forgotten where I ever heard about them and I've started to give up on romance novels.)
Then I started seeing the light...:
No sparkling allowed.
Vampires must have fangs.
Vampires sleep in coffins.
Et cetera.
If you want a somewhat-decent vampire romance, try Millenium Snow (a manga) by Bisco Hatori.  Way funnier and more mysterious.  Hellsing is by far the best vampire book I've ever read though.

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

Oh God, a bunch of girls at my high school would never shut up about it. Practically every other thing I heard at school was "Edward is so hot," or other stuff along those lines. And it's not just the freshmen, it goes all the way up to seniors. It's like they're assembling an army of crazed Twilight fangirls!

It's official... the Twilight movie series and its fangirls are going to bring about the destruction of the sanity of normal people who actually have taste in books/movies as we know it! To the bomb shelters!

I'm sorry, but if Edward is hot, I am buying a pair of fake giant eyebrows. That seems to draw in the ladies...

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I've just read the whole series (well nearly, I'm on the last book now). After all the fan-talk I was put off a lot, but I decided to read it anyway. It's not a bad book, Inheritance is still my favourite, but I recommend you guys at least try reading it if you haven't.
The way Bella is proper obsessed with Edward pees me off though, and as for the guy who plays him in the film.... I don't think he's good-looking at all.... When Bella goes into depression in New Moon when Edward tries leaving her, I wished I could have slapped her.

Re: Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I've read the books myself, before all this hype with the film. I was utterly repulsed. Stephenie Meyer uses too many adjectives and such in it, and that's something I never thought I'd say. Usually if I criticize a book or fanfiction, it's because there are too few adjectives, not too many. I used to think you could never have too many adjectives. Boy was I wrong.

Bella's just a plain obnoxious character: Friends I have; who are girls and they themselves change their clothes very often, change their clothes far less often than the many times Bella goes through mood changes. If she was wearing a mood ring, it wouldn't stay a single color for more than five minutes.

chick. Turns out they are stupid, and need to just be themselves.
Someone out there will accept them for who they were born to be.
