Oh yeah, I was excited about that too. The fact that it's being developed by Team Ninja is a plus. big_smile

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

From Nintendo it was Super Mario Galaxy 2 the next Mario and Luigi RPG and  New Super Mario Bros on the Wii and the next Metroid Prime game. Other things that really excited me were Halo OSDT, Halo Reach and Assassins Creed 2.

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

I'm upset though at how Sony is now copying the Wii's waggle controller, and the awful third party games like Hannah Montana and Petz for the PSP.

What makes me even more upset is how many ppl were dissing Nintendo and calling them a kiddie company for having those things, yet when Sony does it, all of a sudden it's "Zomg, it's freakin genius!!11!1spazz"

And the Xbawx has thier own waggle controllers too.

Everyone wants to copy off Nintendo. =/

Instead of pirating Nintendo they should be working on bringing more hardcore games to us, and I don't mean shootan games. I've had enough of those.

My friends, it's time platforming has made a comeback *serious business face*

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

I watched some of Sony's Conference and all I can say is UNCHARTED 2 ROCKS! The gameplay demo was mind-blowing. I've had ago at the multiplayer beta and I think it's brilliant - both Competitive and Co-op. I'm also pleased to see Elena and Sully returning.

Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is another game that I look forward too. They gameplay videos were great and loois to be another great entery to the franchise.

MAG could be a potential hit but I need to see some reviews first.

Jak & Daxter on PSP/PS2 looks decent but I'm concerned that it won't meet the standard of the previous games. But hey, at least they're back.

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

I have some faith in High Impact Games. They made two decent Ratchet & Clank games (granted, they were less then stellar ported to the PS2 in the eyes of critics). So let's give a quick sum up of the press conferences:

Nintendo: WTF?! A PULSE OX. FOR THE WII?! Are these guys that crazy? "Yeah, I'm so cool I got a video game console that takes my pulse for me, cause I'm too lazy to do it myself!" What a terrible idea! But, it gets MUCH better. And when I say better, I mean SUPAH... Mario that is. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is like that sequel to New Super Mario Bros. that, to quote ScrewAttack.com's "Stuttering" Craig, we'd need to wait 10 years for. I'm glad they got Yoshi in it, and four player co-op (now how about that online thing that's a big fad nowadays). It's just a shame it's not portable.

Then you got Mario & Luigi RPG: Bowser's Inside Story. All terrible localized names aside, I've played through the Japanese version and I cannot wait another minute for this! IT KICKS SOME SERIOUS... *shot* I can sum up one of the best parts about the game in three words: I HAVE FURY!!! And there's even MORE Mario! Super Mario Galaxy 2. Personally, I think Nintendo hit the nail on the head with the gravity system last game. I think it's an interesting challenge to see how they can expand upon the gravity system with new power-ups and of course, YOSHI IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! ^.^

Oh yeah, and there was that Metroid game that Team Ninja is making. The Other M, is it? It seems to be switching back and forth between the classic 2D style that I haven't seen in ages, and a 3D, 3rd-person view (new to the 3D Metroid series). That's kinda like Sonic Unleashed, only it looks more promising. Props to Nintendo for not blowing it this year with Wii Music 2: The Second Symphony. >_>

Sony: I gotta say, I'm impressed with the efforts Sony is taking to climb out of 3rd place. While the PSP Go! seems as stupid as the DSi (and with Sony's infamously ridiculous price tag to boot) however Gran Turismo is a launch title: not bad at all! ^.^b There's also a Metal Gear Solid coming out for the PSP featuring Snake in the 70s. Woo!

I gotta say though, I was impressed with the PS3's lineup at E3. First off, you have Final Fantasy XIII. Now, how long ago was that announced? Still, the trailer was epic (especially the dude with the 'fro) and just the fact that more light was shed unto the game is good enough for me. But then Sony pulls out a WILD card and shows off Final Fantasy XIV! And it's gonna come out in 2010! I better start saving some serious green!

Then there's the blood/gore-fest that is God of War 3. It looks equally as impressive as its predecessors, and with that Blu-Ray quality the PS3 has to offer, I look forward to some serious carnage with Kratos. MAG was also pretty impressive, especially considering the massive online multiplier (if I can get my darn online stuff up and running). Uncharted 2 was also a stellar looking game.

The big thing for me with Sony though has to be Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I like the new element of gameplay the Hoverboots add and the weapons that have been shown off are just what I've come to expect from Insomniac at this point (that burp one gets extra brownie points in the creativity department). I'm very curious as to what role General Azimuth and just time travel in general will play in the story... and speaking of story, I've only waited so many years for my favorite R&C villain to return! I look forward to many "LAWRENCE!!!"s and short-circuits in the near future. I am disappointed that Insomniac will probably not be using David Bergeaud (the composer for the entire R&C series) for the game's music, instead choosing Boris Salchow (who did Resistance 2) to finish out the Future games.

Microsoft: I've never been a Microsoft fan TBH. I'll keep it short and simple. Halo: Reach and Halo OSDT look pretty good and will no doubt keep 95% of male teenage North Americans locked in their basements for the next 5 years. The Metal Gear Solid 360 game looks good also, however... what's this? Kojima says Solid Snake is not the main character? The game is about Raiden? Crap. That's like a Mario game without Mario in it! You do NOT do that.

All in all, E3 2009 could be considered one of the best E3s around. For once, it looks like the real "winners" of this conference were not some silly developer studios... but the gamers themselves. Hats off to everyone for giving us what we want for the first time since... like... 2007 or something. <.<;

Don’t you think they should have announced Final Fantasy XIV after Final Fantasy XIII had been successfully released?

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

I don't care much for gore-fest games like God of War. I mean, does the amount of blood you see in the game really equal how much fun it is? Just watching my characters perform awesome moves is enough "fun" for me. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't think it was so "fun" if you actually saw that much blood in real life. But watching some guy perform multiple tricks on beating another person or obstacle course in real life would be kick-@$$.

Anyways, both Halo titles would probably keep me in my room for the next 5 years as well lol. It's the only shooter/fps game I'll probably never get tired of.

But the new Mario & Luigi game is gonna be freakin' sweet. Playing as Bowser always is.

I didn't like him that much in Super Paper Mario (except his dialogue which was hilarious). The main reason why I enjoyed playing Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! was the villain; a Mario & Luigi fan favorite. ^.^

I'm still wondering how the second-rate online system is gonna pull that off, personally. 256 players is not a small #. I don't think I even have 255 friends... let alone with PS3s. <.<;

Re: E3 2009 Discussion

I've seen Nintendos (not really, I saw the Irate Gamer's recording lol) and Am Watching Sony's Now. Super Mario Galaxy 2= AWESOME IDEA. Thats the least lazy thing I've seen Nintendo do in YEARS. They usually only relesae one big mario game a console but They finally decided to pick up they're act and release 2. GOOD ON THEM, the game looks awesome. Now All I need to do is play the first one.AS for New Super Mario bros Wii. I persoanlly think this game is 10 years late. I'm Sorry but WHY THE HECK HASN'T SOMEONE RELEASED A 4 PLAYER CO-OP 2D PLATFORMER YET? I mean, Its not much effort. Owell< i'm glad they finally ARE making it. AS for the new crap taht you Put on your Wii mote. That is just crap. They say "oh, it gives more precision than ever before" WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST RELEASE THE WII MOTE LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE? Now they are going to jack up the price of taht game, Saying it includes that thing, ust like they did with Mario kart Wii and Wii Fit. Sorry, But Its reasons like this why i dont like Nintendo's Home consoles.
And the metroid? I was never a fan

I'm gonna have a lot of fun with New Super Mario Bros. Wii. *evil laugh* You can stomp on peoples' heads, move ahead of them so they get knocked offscreen. In some ways, it reminds me of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. <.<;
