Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

I'm getting a DS for my birthday in about a month and I don't know what games to get. I was wondering what your favorite games are and which ones you recomend. Thanks in advance

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

Well I'm sad to say I've never had a DS, only played one I burrowed from a friend once...so I can't give you much in terms of what games to buy.

Well, I don't know what kind of games you like, but I suggest Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

Yes Animal Crossing: Wild World is VERY good, keeps you entertained for ages! May I also suggest the Pokemon titles for the DS? These are Diamond, Pearl and Platinum (the new one).

I have a game called Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise. OMG, it's soooo addictive. Basically you create a garden to attract many different types of pinata. Once you have them, you can mate them (or it's called 'romancing' in the game  ) and have more. Sounds simple but trust me: it'll take over your life once you get into it! Highly recommended by me.  :-P

Also, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is a personal favourite of mine. It's got lots of puzzles and LOADS of exploration. You'll never be bored!

Phew... I hope that helped.  smile

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

If you seem to like Warioware, get Rhythm Heaven. It's incredibly good, but highly undiscussed in most places. Check out Youtube vids for this game (or any game you're interested in).

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

Well, if you're into RPGs, I suggest Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. It's a bit challenging, but it's still a very good game. There's also Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time (or Explorers of Darkness).

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

Thats brings up another thing. What genre of games are you generally interested in? It might help to narrow things down if you give a better idea of what you like to play. Mystery Dungeon is an RPG game, Mario Kart is a racing/party game, Rhythm Heaven is a musical game, etc.

Sonic rush is a good game, especially if you enjoyed the original Sonic games.

Re: Calling All Nintendo DS Owners!

Great choices you will love all of these games I guarantee it. Also yeah Mario and Sonic at The Olympic Games is fun on all systems but for Wii it's probaly the best. Please forgive me for changing the subject.

Hopefully I'm not too late to drop a few suggestions.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness (EPIC-LY ADDICTING!)
Mario Kart DS (The best Mario Kart that's portable, baby!)
Chrono Trigger (decent port of the ol' SNES game)
New Super Mario Bros. (It's Mario getting back to his roots, who doesn't love that?)
Metroid Prime Hunters (It's good)
Contra IV (I don't know if it's out yet, but it looks EPIC)
also, if you're willing to wait a few months, get Mario & Luigi RPG 3 (it's an easy-to-learn RPG, and insanely hilarious)

Yes, that's very addicting! big_smile  I still can't stop playing it!

Games:
-Pokemon D/P or the new Pokemon Platinum.
-Any Mario games (They're all pretty entertaining!)
-Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of time/darkness, Blue/Red.
-Animal crossing: Wild World (I've played it once.)
-The Legend of Spyro 1,2,3.
-Yoshi's Island (So wacky!)
-Wario Ware Touched! (It's really fun and addicting!:D )

That's all I've come up with.

Yes I agree too, it can keep you entertained for hours. A suprisingly good game with a simple, but hooking storyline. Quite cute sometimes too.

Yep, highly recommend this.  smile
