Has anyyone ever played "Drakengaurd" or "Drakengaurd 2"? There these action games made by Sqare Enix were you can ride a big red Dragon during the game, and torch entire armies with her!

Sounds pretty cool.  I wish I had a playstation 3 so I could play Lair.  By the way, what console is that for?  My favorite dragon game for PC is I of The Dragon.  You get to choose from three different dragons, all with cool abilities and spells of their own.

Re: Best dragon games

Drakengaurd is a game for the Playstaton 2. I checked out I Dragon, it looks pretty cool but Gamespot gave it a low score and the graphics look kinda bad...

Re: Best dragon games

Dang, the downside of having a 360 is that you will find more adult games
that are not dragon related. Thank God that Dawn of the Dragon came
out for 360, or Swaffy would be sadfaced.

But Swaffy is happy now.

Too bad they have helicopters in Call of duty 4, instead of Dragons.

Re: Best dragon games

My favorite dragon games are Dragon Rage and Spyro. All the other games in my opinion are this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQc1FugbG-s&NR=1

One day the unreal shall be real, the fallen shall rise, and the nightmares shall become a reality. Those who follow shall earn life eternal. Those who don't shall die. The rising of the Dark Lord shall be humanity's undoing. All hail the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Re: Best dragon games

Somebody should make a free-roaming type dragon game, where you
don't have to deal with the medieval sword / magic crap, and just be a
dragon. Survival by eating creatures, destroying random stuff you feel
like destroying, etc.

People just don't put much thought into making dragon games or movies.
They seem to always have to have humans and medieval weaponry with
magic in them.

Also, dragons instead of helos would be cool in CoD4. I would play it
more often if it was like that.

I totally agree with you.  I really wish there was a dragon game like that.

An idea like that sounds good on paper, but it would get boring fast.

Re: Best dragon games

Well, the lands would be massive. And with the help of good graphics, a
good storyline could be added, but the player would still be able to roam
free and do stuff.

Sort of like Gran Theft Auto. You beat the game, and roam free
nonetheless.

Re: Best dragon games

Drakengard could've been better... all the soldiers did was stand around until you approached them (apparently a sign of hardware limitations, as I never did see more than 2 squads on screen at once), and a bunch of the weapons were useless (60 weapons? Do we REALLY need that many when half of them do the same thing?) The story was also a little too dark for me, especially when you started getting the extra endings.

Lair was fun, but way too short... and it reminded me of the rogue squadron games when saving the entire battle from defeat depended on you. (I like teammates with some competence, you know?)

Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough, but I don't know of that many dragon games, which is rather surprising.

Oh great, my lighthouse is on fire again, be right back...

You can't really have a sandbox game were all the characters are animals, it just wouldn't work. Especially since most of the game would be spent in just a forest or something, there would be no landmarks.
