Nostalgia
Hey,
This isn't really a spyro topic so I thought I would post it here.
Now I'm getting on a bit these days (nearly 20, gasp), and when it comes to things like Spyro, I tend to get nostalgic and remember them, and the way they used to be "good" (in my own terms). Things like hearing the music from them, even getting them out and playing them again, theres no other feeling like it.
So I was wondering what other gaming series (if there are any), make you feel like this ?
For me, theres only one other one: battle arena toshinden series (ps1 launch title games). They're just so old and lovely that I have so much fun playing them <3 along with the spyro games of course.
So what did you grow up playing and what makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you dig them out to play them again ? ![]()

Re: Nostalgia
Pokemon Red/Blue, the classics. Every time I hear the pallet town theme it's instant nostalgia.

*sigh* it's true...That music brings back fond memories....also Final Fantasy....
And Shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command.
So we shall flow river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine patris, et filli, et spiritus sancti.

Re: Nostalgia
Ah, the Viridian City theme...I was about 8/9 when I got pokemon blue, got it for a school trip and the coach ride was 6 hours long (went to the millenium dome in London, was an alright day I suppose, especially cos I got through Rock Tunnel by the time I got to London lol).
But I think the game that makes me feel most nostalgic is Donkey Kong Country, that was one of the first games I played and whenever I hear some music from it my mind goes back to happier times lol.
You know that you've become successful when you start stealing Star Systems!

Re: Nostalgia
As far as games go, Wario Land 3... I remember my brother and I would switch off playing it and try to help each other figure out the puzzles.
Spyro: Shadow Legacy reminds me of the first forum I ever joined and my first ever online friends.
Lots of the songs in DDR games make me remember certain things every time I play them. When I play DDR, I kind of half watch the arrows and half just think about stuff. So probably whatever I was thinking about at the time I played a particular song just stuck and resurfaces whenever I hear it.

Re: Nostalgia
Hmm... well whenever I play the first Spyro game it reminds me of when I was a little girl...
And yes, the old Pokemon games remind me of my past. The song that comes on in the first few routes makes me smile. ![]()

You mean 120% after you play Gnasty's Loot? Yep, can do that too. Years of practise have finally paid off! ![]()

Re: Nostalgia
Now I feel like hooking up my Nintendo 64 again and playing Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap...I miss those games! (though I still can't wait for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver...you can have any Pokemon follow you! Like Pokemon Yelow, but better!)
And who else remembers watching Wishbone?

*nods* Yup, it's official! There's info about it on Serebii (scroll down a bit on that page) :
http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml
I get all my Pokemon info from that site!
And you know how in Yellow, you had Pikachu follow you? And in D/P/Pl, you could have select Pokemon follow you in Amity Square? Well, in HG/SS, you can have ANY Pokemon follow you!
For me, once I can trade other Pokemon over, it will most likel be Mew, Mewtwo, or Lugia (I love those guys!). The first Pokemon in your party is the one that follows you.
I'm going to try to get both, but if I have to pick one, I'm going with Soul Silver because Lugia is AWESOME!

Bloody hell that looks awesome! Looks like a dark film... I like it! And wow, Heart Gold and Soul Silver look great! My Silver and Crystal games are broke...
but they look great, these new ones! Wow I'm having a great day!
I'll probably get Soul Silver too, Spynder. I had a fantastic Lugia on my old Silver game, but... it's gone along with Typhlosion. And Dragonite. And many more...
Does anyone know the UK release date?
*EDIT* Perhaps we ought to talk about this here XD:

Yes Lugia is awesome. I like the sound he makes more than anything. And Mew is soooo cute!
But like I said before, let's talk about this in the Pokemon topic. ![]()
