Yet we all know that won't happen... They will keep making these games, and we will keep buying them... Whether we like them or not! Who says people can't like both series, but prefer the originals?

Who says people who hate the new games do buy them?

Who says it makes sense to have an opinion on whether you like the games or not if you haven't played them, hence having to buy or at least rent them?

I'm kind of sick of people saying stuff like this. It's not as simple as you're trying to make it seem. Some people hold a certain amount of resentment toward LoS for getting rid of the old games. Some people just like to debate about stuff. Either way, there's nothing wrong with debating this. =/

It just means Spyro is following with change, i just cant see why people cant accept spyro has to change to carry on with the world, either way dont we all want spyro to carry on?

A lot of fanbases has this little problem. Mainly Sonic, Spyro, and Crash (I think).

Some fans will accept the changes and move on, even though they don't like the series. There's some though that'll continue to play Spyro, even with the changes. Some would want Spyro to go back to the classic days since that was his best (or so people say). Some even think Spyro should just die because they changed him to something different.

It's tough, it sucks, but there will always be fans who are negative towards such changes.

Since it's not the 1990s and now 2009, I expected some change sooner or later. Can't play the same thing over and over again really. Well, in a way.

Change in the game world happens all the time. I could care less so long as the series keeps going really...for I always see the best in each game(or try to) as they come.

Best to optimistic and hopeful about Spyro's future and hope it carries on going, it would be best if the fans would just accept what has happened and just hope for the best it carries on for a much longer time rather than splitting down the middle on opinon. But we need different opinions so its good to to have some controversy.

Well that's what gets me about this whole "Spyro is now finally going back to the original!" argument. I really don't think the developers are going to throw something just created away that now has an extremely strong following just so they can satisfy the old fans again. They have too much invested in LoS and what's already there to care about doing so in my mind.

Well it wouldn't be good for their business because right now LoS has already formed a solid fanbase that is more then willing to pay for it. They will milk that for all it's worth before deciding to split the fanbase yet again.

I really think that they care more about the targeted audience(10-15 year olds) then most of the original fans.

Most people accept that Spyro has changed, but no one is required to like the change. That's the difference.

The older games are of higher quality to most gamers...while these new ones just appear rushed and incomplete. I don't know really everyone is different and some just don't accept radical change in games.

Even though it would be nice and it is possible to have original spyro back, it isnt going to happen though because Sierra have spent so long on TLOS so they would naturally carry on with it. Also if they did try to recreate it, it might ruin it which wouldnt be good to be honest as it would ruin our memories of original spyro.

ETD was soooo awful. I can't even specify WHAT made it so horrible anymore (I must have blocked it out of my memory) but I remember thinking "This is NOT Spyro!" but forced myself to finish it.

That's why it took me so long to start in on TLOS trilogy. I was worried it was going to be equally bad. I also never played A Hero's Tale as a result. Should I? Is it just as bad as ETD?

Aaaaaanyway, I would LOVE for Insomniac to create a new Spyro trilogy based on the original concepts. But that's not gonna happen.

So, realistically. . . I guess I'd like Sierra to incorporate more of what I loved about the original trilogy into any future games.

1) Scattered gems across the levels hidden behind things and such.
2) Levels that are more mystical and magical and enchanting looking like the original trilogy.
3) Get Stewart Copeland back for music! Geeze, his stuff was soooo much better than the new composers.

A Hero's Tail is pretty good in my opinion. To me, it's like Year of the Dragon, though a bit shorter (not as short as The Legend of Spyro) and having more abilities and such. I would recommend it since it's pretty close to the classics in a way. Plus, you do get a lot to do.
