Re: General Discussion - 2

No redragon, I think you've forgotten about science. All weight comes from what you've eaten and drunk. Exercise takes away weight. I hate to be this perdantic over something so basic and obvious, but the little scientist in my head now has several guns and is making threats. So please, biomass comes from what you eat. It's working out that takes away some weight, and makes a little muscle. Stop hurting science please?

Re: General Discussion - 2

Working out has never caused me to loose weight, and my metabolism burns away anything that I take in food wise so I have to wonder where those extra 40 pounds came from in the last two years of high school...and seeing as how I was in the gym every other day and tearing up muscle like their was no tomorrow I'd say it's a safe bet.

That and when I got home from my Navy training I weighed a good 200 pounds...and then one month later dropped down to 192 because I didn't go to the gym at all in which I did every day in the military.

Re: General Discussion - 2

... I'm going to have one shot at trying to stop that horrific idea.

Okay, when you eat, you have a larger mass, because there's more of you. When you work out, you use up energy. Energy is released through chemical reactions the body does all the time. These chemical reactions use hydro-carbons. Which are taken in when you eat.

I expect what happened is your exercise caused you to eat more, and put on weight through that. Whereas without exercise, you eat less and lose weight.

Of course if that's what you meant all along, then you aren't a complete idiot. You just made your point in a slightly confusing way.

Re: General Discussion - 2

I never eat a lot. I eat maybe once a day and everything else I throw into working out most of the time. I definitely see the point but unless I have food coming from pretty much....nothing but Mac and Cheese most of the time then everything else has been on my own workout scheduling. I still look at a picture of myself two years ago...then one of myself now...and I def see a difference in weight and muscle tone.

All I know is that whenever I work out for long periods of time I can weight and tear up muscle.

And no I'm making the point that if you decide to train your muscles and build more muscle you will gain weight. Perhaps you're just confusing the point because of your high "intelligence" which I could really care less about in the end.

Remind me never to use science against you again. It makes me hurt inside to see science abused so badly.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Yeah I know life is tough when everyone doesn't follow your beliefs. How ever will the world go on I wonder. I don't care about the science unless it is a major issue to be dealt with. I more like to think things up for myself not for what is always deemed right through science.

I'm almost crying. That's worthy of some form of trophy. Now please stop talking, it makes me want to murder my brother, and I've already attempted to strangle him.

And I'm almost crying at the extreme extent of your own arrogance so I suppose we're even. I have nothing to worry about in my life so I could really care less.

And I'm going to Washington D.C. for my AT So that counts as a holiday I suppose.

Re: General Discussion - 2

It's so tempting to place this entire conversation on some science forum. Just for kicks.

I'm probably going up north as usual. Hopefully, I'll get to see the one living being that holds any meaning to me.

My horse.

Also, SM, red is only right if several laws of physics, chemistry and biology, are wrong. I bet psychology'll be kinda screwed up too.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Go ahead if it would entertain you folks. We all need something to entertain us, especially when it's something that you don't like or it's against your personal views. That seems to be the only way people get kicks these days.

Doesn't seem to affect me much seeing as how I could care less about the opinions of "scientists" and the fact you'll never know me so why should I care.

Re: General Discussion - 2

... Seriously, what have you got against logic, reasoning, and science? My opinion of you is slowly dropping to musclehead level, and in my world, muscleheads are fed to pigs. I mean, you can't gain mass by burning hydrocarbons. How hard is that to understand?

Re: General Discussion - 2

Musclehead? You clearly can not interpret someone if that's what you view me as. All I'm saying is that I've gained weight from working out not just by eating food. You're the one who decided to blow it up into a huge scientific debate.

As for what I have against Science and logic, I don't have a single thing against it besides the fact if you let it take over every single aspect of your thinking you become someone who isn't run by any deal of emotion and only by your scientific views of the world.

In my mind someone who is complete has the ability to think things through with logic and use emotions to counterbalance them at the same time, at least that's what I strive for. Their is a time and a place to be logical and realistic and their is a time and a place to be compassionate.

Very few can wield both at the same time...especially today. Or at least remain intelligent while they do it. So yeah apparently I've degraded into the musclehead category because I simply don't follow your beliefs in the highest amount of logic and science, ok fine....because if it turns you into the kind of person that YOU are then that's not what I want to be.

*facepalm* Okay, so you decide that now. I've been doing that for six months!

I just couldn't stand such a blatant disregard for science go past me! I'd have ended up going all emo and punching the wall. As it is, the scientst part of my mind is mixing chemicals is the corner while muttering to himself.

I think what we have here is you who have your gut feelings, emotions, etc. and I who have logic, science and reason. I.Q. versus E.I. I believe. Emotional intelligence versus logical intelligence. The left side versus the right side.

In other words, we are polar opposites. That almost makes me want to be friends if it wasn't for the fact that you have a mind, of sorts. Basically, I'll go join mensa, while you work out. Cool?

Re: General Discussion - 2

Well like I said in my last post I see a human being trying to balance the two out so that you have good logic and good emotions working together to come up with solutions.

I mean if you have someone who is completely run by science and I.Q., a good majority of the time it's going to be someone who is full of themselves, arrogant, cold, and looking to enforce those beliefs in direct ways.

On the other hand you have those who are too emotional....those who lack the willpower to do anything for themselves because they're too scared of getting their feelings hurt and all that BS. When someone is run by complete emotion then they won't solve anything for the better.

No you need both to really focus in life. You need intelligence obviously and realism so that you can understand the true gravity of all situations and how to get past them in a very sensible manner, yet you also need the emotional end of it to work well with others and actually understand  some compassion.

Both have strengths and weaknesses....but yes they both work well together if you apply them together in the correct approach. That's just what I think about it...I try to balance both out....being realistic while also being understanding. That's just what I'm trying to accomplish.

Re: General Discussion - 2

... Do you realise how overly dramatic that sounds? Seriously...

Also, that second mini-paragraph was aimed at me, wasn't it. Well you know what? I'm proud of it. I'd rather be a cold intellectual than some hippy. You realise that's what you sound like.

And striving for some sort of balance is futile. Emotion and intelligence are at odds, you cannot perfect them both. Balance is no more perfect than specialising in one of those two.

And finally, a quote to adress.

Can you agree that your knowledge of science is both good so we can just move on?

No.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Seeing something as dramatic is only your own nature coming into play so I can rule that whole statement out. I put truth into what I write so I don't care how you view it.

And actually I've met many people who fit the description in the second paragraph....so you only put it on yourself that time around. I don't care if that's how you want to be in life...that's your own freaking choice to make.

I simply believe in the balance of both...and so far it hasn't done me any harm...actually it's only done good. I can't say anything for you obviously because I don't know you.

I keep approaching things how I do because it helps others and myself at the same time...until that approach fails I have no reason to think otherwise.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Well, the only thing that's keeping me arguing is the desire to not lose. A draw? Or are you going to push it further? I can keep going, but we've taken up a page with this arguement, and people are going to be reading this stuff with really gormless faces.

Yes we can settle in a draw for now. I would like at least an hour or so to actually talk about something in a non argument like sense.

Why don't you go ahead an talk about C++ and how you can tie that in with PHP and MySQL to create a very user friendly website environment...and then also how the usages of CSS, HTML, and XHTML can also benefit into that overall experience.
