Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Acording to you Aceedwin evan if someone thinks they are changing there life around it was still fixed to be that way. But that dosent matter because when someone makes a decision they do it on there own inpulse not because they were destined to do that. So evan if our futures are fixed we are still deciding what we want to do.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Oh! Ontels actually understood! That's kinda rare, most people completely misunderstand it *coughredragoncough*
But the point is, if the future will only ever turn out one way, we're not making any choices are we? A choice is a point at which we can choose how the universe follows. But if the universe is determined, choices aren't possible. We're just, how to put this, following laws.
As a result there is no free will. I used to think that way, but you can only hold both beliefs for so long. As Jonathan of the watchmen puts it, "We're all puppets Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings."

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
People believe what they want to believe Aceedwin, and I could personally care less about your views on destiny or the future. We make our own decisions and life and I certainly want my life to go the way that I wish it to go.
Stating that someone doesn't understand something that is totally pointless anyways only displays arrogance in your own thinking, which of course is fine for most people until you try to apply it to certain events.
I don't believe in destiny nor does anyone that I care about in my life. We believe in living for today and making ourselves better through our own actions in that day. We all make mistakes and then we learn from them to become better people. As far as I can see this hasn't hurt us at all and their is no point in believing in something that you could alter if you truly wanted to do so.
I believe in the human spirit and free will because we do all have our own prosperous future in us if we only choose to apply ourselves to it...and that's the difference between a human soul who is actually motivated to become better and someone who isn't. I've seen plenty of lives turned around through the use of good advice and healing of the soul, granted it's not easy but It can certainly happen.
In the end it truly doesn't matter because we're all individuals and we all believe what we want. I simply believe in carving your own destiny in the way you live your life, not that it's all chosen before you're even born. But that's just me.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Alright, I can see you have your own ideas, whether right or wrong, and I can almost respect them in my own way, which isn't really respect at all. But, I don't quite understand why you have decided that my ideas are not worth anything. Even I can see that all ideas are worth something, and I'm compl- I'll stop there.
You didn't understand what I was saying, something fairly understandable. I estimate about 17% of people get it on their first try.
People believe what they want to believe. In fact, most of the things I believe are designed to keep me happy and, how to put this without sounding creepy, satisfied. I can't remember when I came up with- Hmmm... I'll stop there again. I feel I've made my point.
Now, let's see if you want to push this further.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
I completely understand what you're saying and I'm not disregarding the point at all. Humans believe what they want to believe and a good deal of the time an outside force isn't going to change that.
The human spirit is being true two who you are and not bending to the will of others..and I merely believe in the fact that you shape your own destiny in life while you believe that no matter what their is only one ending and one path that is already planned out before you even begin your life.
You believe what you want to believe, all I know is that it hasn't affected my life at all and it hasn't affect yours except in the terms you take delight in telling others how ridiculous they're for believing in something you don't.
We can both argue the point until we're blue in the face and it's not going to make a difference either way.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
I think the best point you made was the point that it made me happy. Someone finally clicks.
But yeah, all that other stuff was fairly right too. Even the argument point. It doesn't lessen the pleasure I take in arguing. I just like clashing intelligence and willpower is all...

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
I don't pull much out of arguing and I avoid it for a good reason. Arguing never solves anything except make someone feel like they hold a mental edge over others and that through such power they believe themselves more "Intelligent" in the end.
Yes intelligence is proven through skill at debating but this is not what makes you a better person in the end. I certainly wouldn't want to be around someone who believes themselves always better because they know how to apply ideas into an argument quicker them someone else can.
A belief is a belief...and reality is reality, but how you apply both in everyday life is what makes you the kind of person you want to be. That doesn't change no matter what unless your willpower is broken beyond the point of repair...which...in today's world most are.

I don't see how we can understand what your saying go 9 or 11 posts up did you hear what you was saying? It's hard to understand what ones says if they say it long and boring, just say it short sweet and to the point, then people will understand what you are trying to say.
And what point was made? I don't see a point made, Clarify if you don't mind.

Look if you don't get the argument, it's not my fault. It's complex, but not confusing. Don't go blaming your failings on me. It's easy to understand once you free yourself from the box you've been building for the majority of your life. Your box seems to be made out of titanium. But still, your failing.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Well actually we have to get this back on topic. I believe it's in reference to wanting to be like someone else or taking inspiration from others....something of that sort.

Nice you basicly call me dumb, but I don't care. RDX is right we should get back on topic.
well anyway when I was young I alway looked up towards my cousin he was the one who told me to believe in myself, I can still remeber the words he told me "Just believe in yourself and you will be able to accomplish your dreams." and that sentence has been true to me so far. I wanted to be just like him, but I figure I don't need to be him. I can take that sentence that he told me and keep it as an inspiration to keep on going and completeing my dream.
And I'm not failing in life, I'm actullay succeeding, next year is my last year in High school before I go to college I can't wait to go college it going to be cool, sure there going to be a lot more school work, but still it's going to be cool.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Interestingly, no, I didn't. In fact, we had one of those new exercises at primary school few years back. It was based on our heroes. All the girls chose pop stars. All the boys chose footballers. A few exceptions chose their parents. Then there was me. I mocked the exercise and refused to do it. I got in serious trouble for that, actually. Why? Because I didn't have a hero. That teacher will die in agony.

Re: Did you ever what to be like a certain Person?
Some people are just truly incapable of looking up to someone. I've met people who take strength from themselves and themselves alone. Doesn't make them bad people. Just a different approach.
