Prequel LOS series: Starring Ignitus!!!

As for those who love the Legend of Spyro series, what would you think of a prequel series that featured Ignitus as the main protagonist? I know that if such a game were made it would only really find popularity with the hard-core Spyro fans, but if such a game were made what sort of features, enemies, scenarios, or levels would you like to see?

Obviously, you'd have the guardians being the secondary protagonists, but who would be some good original characters for a potential series?

Personally, I've always subscribed to the Ignitus is Spyro's father theory, and a good original character would obviously be Spyro's mother... As for others, what do you think?

I think that if the TLOS universe and structure is going to continue this would actually be a good idea. A prequel to TLOS where we find out Why the Darkmaster is so evil and how he came to be what he was.

I think it'd be a good idea too. And the game could end with placing Spyro's egg gently into the river ^^

Yeah I wouldn't mind a game that helps explain the origins of certain characters such as the Guardians, Malefor, The Chronicler, Spyro and Cynder's parents...that would be pretty interesting.

I think you could make several games based off of Ignitus.

The first game would be about how Ignitus rose out of obscurity to become a Guardian. (I always imagine the plot of that Ignitus-centered game similar to that of Chrono Trigger, which in my opinion is one of the best RPGs of all time).

Malefor would still be well before Ignitus' time, as Ignitus isn't THAT old, however he would be seen more as a threat in the background. For Ignitus to arise to become a Guardian, along with Volteer, Terrador and Cyril, the existing Guardians would probably have to be rather corrupt, and would serve as the principle antagonists. I was thinking of a bad guy similar to Red, and that he employs various groups (gnorcs, rhynocs, apes etc) to fight against Ignitus and the gang.

The second game would probably take place during the time Spyro is in the egg. In these prequels, we could also find out why the Apes have a long-standing grudge against dragonkind.

The laying of a purple egg that doesn't come once every 10 generations is probably going to spell a great deal of concern to Malefor, and uses Gaul and the apes as his main proxies. This game would probably be darker as it would basically cover the breakdown of Draconic society as it is under siege by the apes and as Ignitus you would have to protect the dragons so they can escape to safer realms. The last battle would be the desperate fight at the temple where the Guardians are guarding the dragon eggs, and then concluding with Ignitus placing Spyro's egg into the river.

I personally love the idea. Ignitus is my favorite character in TLoS series. I find him one of the more interesting characters.

I could stand a game that might have to deal with his rise to his position with the rest of the Guardians and how he was involved with past struggles...especially during the war with Cynder

I think it would be pretty hard to make a game like that.. but honestly whats up with epic games like this.. they always go into prequils... lol.. you noticed that? (ex: Star Trek and Star Wars)

edit: I'd enjoy that game though

Well yeah they're going to go where they believe the most story quality is...and they still want to stay true to the originals...so what better way then to tell the story about how things happened before the events the original games....or what happens after of course.

Doesn't always work out but then again it doesn't always fail...depends on how good the story is.

Depends a lot on what you want in the game and the reasons I said above. But yeah...I'm not usually a big fan of them either.

I would like to find out more about old Iggy's past, but we may learn a bit more in the next game...
