Re: Any musicians on this forum
Uh.
Well, I've played trumpet over 8 years, guitar over 2, and piano for 1. I also sing. And yes, I actually can. Gonna be studying vocal performance next year in college, which means 4+ hours of practicing everyday .. Ugh ..

I sing as a hobby. Don't really know how good I am.

Re: Any musicians on this forum
Yes! Finally, a guitarist on here that I can share personally made [AKA
home made] tabs with. Nice, DragonMissioner. You are using some
chords I have never heard of, but they make sense.
My Gibson is currently tuned to DADADD. So I may write out an intro tab
to a song I came up with earlier yesterday. By the way, keep up the good
playing. I will share a tab with you on this thread later ...

Re: Any musicians on this forum
I'm a saxophonist... believe it or not. I play Tenor and Baritone Saxophone. I played Tenor in my school's Symphonic Band (regular band), and Bari Sax for my school's Stage Band (a jazz band, entry is audition only).

I played in the Jazz band when I was in school....that was the only time we actually got to pay really cool songs.

Re: Any musicians on this forum
I personally think the Tenor Sax is the best to play in Jazz... it gets all the solos. Then again... Bari Sax often intertwines with Trumpets and Trombones in jazz music. <.< >.>

Re: Any musicians on this forum
I've always wondered what'd be like to be a string base. Sometimes pieces have awesome base lines. Like Haitian Fight Song, for example. <.<;

Re: Any musicians on this forum
[My opinion.]
I think that Jazz drummers are much better than other drummers, mainly
because they can control their urge to bang on an instrument that is easy
to get loud with. They are able to control the volume and sound of the
drums much better than rock drummers or other drummers could.
And of course, If I am about to die, just play soft music, and I will be up
in a few minutes. Preferably Soft Rock.

Re: Any musicians on this forum
My old music teacher said that it required a lot of skill to be a jazz set drummer... specifically because jazz music was meant NOT to use a snare drum, which rock drummers/conventional band drummers can't resist using. <.<;

Re: Any musicians on this forum
Sounds fun. Well, before my Worship Team class ended, I was in the
school band. It's a Christian school, so we played christian songs. But
don't underestimate Christian songs. Many are great, and fun to play.
I am also part of the youth band. Lately, we have been stuck playing
acoustic sets [Pretty much me and three singers], because we are lacking
our drummer. He played a game called "Helicopter" in class a few months
ago, and will be unrestricted from drum playing after school lets out.
I am halfway part of the Sunday band, too. I say halfway, because I only
play approximately every two weeks. Mainly because they have their
practice on Thursday. Swaffy is not used to having something to do on
Thursdays.
