Re: General Discussion - 2

Wow, this is hilarious.

It's quite entertaining seeing all of these posts about the sun going out
and aliens watching over us. This is funny.

Oh, your imaginations.

And it seems as if Aicebo could care less about how a Guy feels. Show
some respect for the sick, foo.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Ohh, I feel an angry post coming on...

Eh? I'm not imagining the sun "going out." It will become a white dwarf... eventually...
Although the chances of other lifeforms witnessing our demise is rather low.
Hm.

Sorry to hear that, A Guy. I've had something similar for a long time now, minus the sore throat. It's probably a sinus infection. I think I've developed a cold, too.

Are you trying to provoke an argument here? neutral

I got a cold too, and I had a choir concert yesterday, so my voice probably sounded like crap. I had one last year too, at the same concert. >__>

Yeah, there is a great possibility of external life other than Earth. Because
we [us humans] have not seen all of the universe. So that question will
either never get answered, or take another 1,000 years to get answered.

I will be in Heaven by that time.

Oh really, that's a bit anal Taco Goddess. In this case, "going to heaven" is not a phrase that's attempting to be forcibly implied to anyone else.

I have yet to know of any higher-level (so not single-celled) species exist for more than a billion years. Would be weird if humans remained as "humans" for even several million years.

Re: General Discussion - 2

You can't rule out the possibility of something living out there..and unless they ever show themselves then we will never know, and the whole sun thing was more of a joke anyways, but either way if anything happens to it humanity is going to have a rather tough time.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Certainly possible. You can't rule any theory out but you also can't claim to know it's correct.

I am not saying that what I'm about to say is true, but I do believe that
we are the only planet with life on it. Free-moving life, not plants.

Speaking of plant life, it makes me laugh when vegetarians say that they don't like eating anything that was alive, yet plants, fruits, and vegetables are living things.

Shurley you cant believe we are the only animal life in the universe. There are a infinite amount of planets out there one of them must have animal life.

I don't know Ontels but Swaffy does have a point scientist, Astronomers have not found any life out there in space, but Supposly Area 51 have  alien evidence that there is extraterrestrial life out there. But I won't believe it until I see it. I have to agree with Swaffy that there might not be other life out there.

There are roughly 40 billion galaxies out there. Each one contains millions of stars. And each star may well have several planets. What people don't understand is the vastness of the universe. It's ironic that people believe alternate life is UNlikely. There's a ring around a star called "The Goldilocks zone" (no joking) and if a planet with some water ends up here, life is likely to evolve.

So yes, there are a lot of requirements, but it's like saying you're unlikely to win the lottery, even if you buy 40 000 000 000 tickets. Balance mon frére.

It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Yeah, agreed with Aceedwin. Although the odds of life on another planet is great, the number of planets and galaxies is even greater and so by the order of magnitude of 40 billion or so galaxies, the improbable becomes almost certainly probable.

Re: General Discussion - 2

50 Pages!!! lol

and yes.. I'll side with there is life out there some where... Actually there is a Moon around either Jupiter or Saturn that is Ice with volcanoes on it... Scientists say that there is a high possablity of ocean vents on that moon and we all know that around ocean vents there is life... If I'm not mistaken isn't that where scientists say the first animal life likely developed? I think... not sure though...

That's not even close to the temperate zone of the sun... (they are sending a phrobe to find out for sure everything around 2020. that's when it'll get there... That's only about 10 years)

Re: General Discussion - 2

The moon is not an active nor will be an active planet. It's not really a prime choice for life. Mars is more likely, with the evidence that there may be liquid water. There may have been liquid water in the past on Mars too, because many rock formations there have the characteristics of landforms on Earth produced by hydrological processes, such as branching canyons. Also, on certain times of the year at Mars' equator, temperatures can reach up to 20C or so at its peak.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Then yes, there are some moons on Jupiter and Saturn that are also potentially viable for life. There's Europa. And then there's Io. However, Mars still is more probable in terms of finding life.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Since I haven't posted in this topic since the very first page, I decided to drop by. More to the topic, I hear there's life on Earth, but that's pure speculation. I guess we'll have to wait until technology extends that far before we start making theories. Earth just seems too desolate for any kind of life, I mean, I hear it never gets over 150 degrees there! How could they live?

Re: General Discussion - 2

Think about it, the moon may be not be the best place for life now but in the next 30,000 years it could be! Jupiter and Saturn could all have life on them thats human nature to think everything has to breath and eat like a normal human there culd be life that feeds off the gas on the gas giants.

I have to believe that there is some other kind of intelligent life out there. This universe goes on and on and on as far as anyone knows....so the possibilities are limitless for sure.
