My little Pony
I am a guy who collects and just wondering how many collectors there are on this forum. I kept silent about my obsession for too long.
I draw them as well and soon will be making Avatars for MLP arena and in some cases here. I will be doing many avatars but enough of that.
How big is your collection and would you upload photos.

Re: My little Pony
Why do people collect stamps and bottle-tops?
You guys aren't exactly being kind, its nothing to really be ashamed of. Some people's obsessions with dragons and horses can be seen as ridiculous as well.
I used to love playing with My Little Pony dolls, we have about 30 of them and they are still about somewhere.... Somewhere likely being the attic or under my sister's bed....

Re: My little Pony
I get teased a lot at school so please don't add to it. SR I suspected a little more maturity out of you. I guess I was wrong.
If you must know why it was because of a strange dream I had two years ago. For a while I would get embarrassed when ever I see anything that resembles my little pony. I knew I had to get over it some how. It was just a stupid dream after all. I started to draw them and I actually enjoyed it. After a while I wanted to collect the MLP dolls to get better at drawing them.
By the way I will not be the only one that you offend.

Re: My little Pony
I collect them; don't be ashamed, My Little Ponies are awesome. (I'm sure nobody here would be put down for collecting Transformers, even if they're by the same makers.)
I usually only collect the ones that I like, meaning I won't collect ones I feel have clashing colors or are poorly designed. They look great with my new studio where I keep them in now, because the pale color theme go well with the ones I have collected.
I'm into customization and stuff; I think that's the best part of the toys. Though re-rooting the hair takes forever, so I hardly do it anymore, but I make sure to "clean up" a new pony that I buy and give it a different look from the rest. (I really can't stand how the hair looks after taking one out of the packaging, so I have to at least straighten it.) Here's an example using one pony I have:
Also, this is probably my favorite customization. It's by Woosie; she has a Deviantart, so you can look her up. It was customized for a solider in Iraq.

Re: My little Pony
Thanks...
My collection is really small since I just started this year.
Do you have an mlparena account?
Nice customization. Did you do something with the color of the hair or is that just the lighting of the picture?

Re: My little Pony

Nope, but I was on Ponystars for a while to experiment with the neat breeding system. It's not technically officially "My Little Pony" but it's in the same style and is a sort of spin-off. I hardly visit it anymore though, mainly because every time you log on you have to care for your ponies one by one lest they lose health the next day and it takes forever to do so. They might have a new feature now to remedy the problem, though.
Nice customization. Did you do something with the color of the hair or is that just the lighting of the picture?
I guess it's just the lighting. I cut the hair a bit at the ends and straightened it by the method I would normally take to straighten regular hair. (minus the iron) Just wet the pony's hair a bit, spread a bit of conditioner and brush to distangle while the conditoner is still on, rinse well, and blow dry the hair while it's still wet using the brush to keep it straight. Also, once dry, spreading a teeny bit of hand lotion on the hair helps too. It makes the hair super shiny and smooth.
However, I notice this method isn't particularly as effective with the older ponies. I guess they must be using a different type of hair on the new ones that makes it more manegeable; it's pretty interesting.

Re: My little Pony
SR it really was the fact that like two mods asked the same question. One took the video too far and the other brought it up. I guess you can't take all the blame though. I admit I did laugh when I saw the video but some things can be taken a little far. Kind of like the Razz issue.
Kazzobie I used an iron once because of a tip I got from MLParena. They say to keep it on the lowest temp possible. I had trouble with tangles and had only that idea.
Well did not work out too well but it did fix the tangle problem. Do you collect any ponies from Disney. They have several different kinds.
