Yes, your egg dies if it doesn't get enough clicks. They need hundreds of clicks to hatch and grow up.

Lol, I clicked all here.
But, just to let you know. Its not just clicks that they need, mine don't often have more than 10 clicks and yet they still grow up. What you need mainly is views and unique views, as whether they hatch or not depends on a ratio of them.
