anyway, I personally don't know anyone who hates the originals, but then I only know a couple people to have actually played them.

I don't know anybody within 50 miles of me that has played the originals. Only ones were a couple of buds in New York...

I have a friend that says that the old ones are "gay" (Is that aloud?... oh well) they are too "Babbyish" for him... He didn't play them until after tLoS though and after DotD and all and then new tech. and everything so I don't think he had a chance... If he liked the new ones a little more he might end up on here but he doesn't like the new ones very much and he hates the computer saying that it's boring... o/w... count one...

I love both myself...

Nobody around here plays either...:(

Don't know what they are missing out on I guess

My cousin, a girl who used to live up the street, my friend, another friend and a few more friends lay and have The Original Spyro games. But maybe thats just me.

I dunno, its obvious that people just dont talk about games made 10 years ago unless the series today is what they play too. When I try to introduce some of my friends to the old spyro they are not really interested that much. Some of them get slightly interested in TLOS, soe of my friends think TLOS is better, some of them think the originals are better. None of them really play it anymore.

But Myself I wouldnt consider the originals babyish. I'd consider Kirby and somewhat Mario babyish but not the original 3 spyro games. It was obvious they were made for kids but it isn't all cutesy wutesy like Kirby. think the story for the origials could of been darker but ust because games are darker doesn't mean they are for a bigger target audience

I was surprised how many people actually knew him. When they heard my tale how Spyro sucks now, they were stunned.

The thing that shocked them the most was the VERY bad Spyro translation for DotD ><

I enjoy both game series for what they are...I don't hate LoS and I do find it enjoyable in certain aspects of gaming....but I find the originals to still be superior in several aspects. Doesn't mean I hate LoS at all seeing as how I've argued tooth and nail for it lol....my opinion on both series are pretty high...but the originals always squeeze out on top.

and cornys I am a different person to what I was a year ago, i also now accept TLOS for what it is now but Unlike Reddragon I do not find them particuarly good games

Because once in awhile my opinion swings back and forth. I prefer the new ones right now because they're what's being released at this moment. Like right now I do pick up a LoS game and play it rather then one of the older ones...but seeing as how I haven't played ANY at all in the last three months I do realize certain things. If their had been an equal option I prolly would have chosen it, but all and all the older games did entertain me quite a bit more...just not for years.

My thoughts exactly, Spyro 1 and 3 are in my top 10 games even today, you just cant beat the original trilogy.

P.S Spyro 2 would probably be up there, but I go it after spyro 3 so it didn't add anything at the time.

Just played TLOS:TNB (who I got off my friend who I didn't even know played the darned thing.) today.

The game well... is somewhat cringe-worthy, to say the least. I have this feeling the game takes itself a lil' too seriously. (Maybe it's me though) And frankly, it is as repetitive as all those reviews say.

All in all, it still couldn't compare to the old Spyro. Oh well, back to PSP Spyro 1. wink

I don't find it particularly impressive, but if it is regarded as the best in the series (some people say DOTD is better, yes?) then I kinda dread when I have to play through TEN.

Depends on the kind of gamer you are. LoS is okay for what it is but it has many many flaws....as did the originals....but how you view and take in the game itself is drastically different for all of us.

On a more serious note, yeah, I guess I do enjoy the puzzles the original series had. Might explain why I preferred Ratchet & Clank (which has a similar tone and style to the orginal series) to TLOS.

Not to say the games where bad, but I find combat to be pressing O is rapid sequence hoping those pesky baboons die before I do lol.

I like the Legend of Spyro most.
The originals were like 1 hit on an enemy & it's dead,
but with tLoS you like have to put up a fight...
