So much for a nice moderator, Stormy. Any Spyro fan will at least look at the previews for the movie ( if there are any previews that exist). If it is as good as I hope it will be, it might even be better than Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, and that movie ROCKS!

Stormy is honest just like I am. The movie will most likely do nothing but bring down the franchise. But who knows...maybe it will do some good....but I really don't see it happening. Best to leave it as a game and let that be that.

Hmm, I think you misunderstood what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that there is already a split between the old and new Spyro fans, and some of the old Spyro fans will probably resent the fact that there is going to be a TLoS movie. Not trying to be mean. neutral

lol, i'm back.
I personally think the movie is going to be a flop. Only a hanful of movies maker it to the theatures and only a handfulout of that really have the budget to advertise. I dont think either of these things will happen.
Though if the movie is successful, I think the flame war might get a little bigger

I hope the movie's good, but I don't have my hopes up. I've seen only about two good movies/tv series based off video games, and most that I talk to said that they were crap.

Well yeah......that I can definitely picture. The flame war that is. Then again it will prolly flare up if the movie is a flop anyways because the older fans will start rubbing it in the LoS fans faces.

lol, they definetely will at that, but at least we can say to them, "At least our game had a story for a movie, your game had the hero goes out and saves the world story that only works for a generally children's cartoon."

The only thing with that is, it worked better to have that kind of story line, because the game wasn't quite so linear, TLoS's biggest downfall...

The old ones you say are good, but they were made during when technology wasn't that great. Now technology is at an all time high, thats make TLOS games the best.

It takes more than technology to make a good game. Some of the best games are on the old systems. Sure games might look better now, but fact is that the ideas arent there. Games seem to have bcome cheap, if that makes anysense, even if they look more classy.

That was very poorly worded. As already said it takes more then technology to make a good game...in some sense can ruin a game if they let it go to their heads....LoS wasn't even that highly rated in terms of overall technology. The originals were groundbreaking at the time...and it was something that had never been really introduced. It was something that caught the imaginations of that youthful generation and brought us into a fantastic world where you could do anything you wanted.

The originals will always be placed above LoS because of just how inventive it was at the time...and just what it helped usher in in terms of using new technology and ideas that interact with gamers.

Very Well said RedDragon. And This is something many TLOS fans do not get. The Story will almost always be better on a newer console. Even the most advanced storeys back 10 years ago were pretty bad and required many discs to play (Final Fastasy). Spyro actually had some of the best voice acting of the time too.

And Yes the TLOS games are ok games. The main thing I have to applaud Sierra on is How they took an idea that Nobody ever came up with but was sitting on the shelves and used it. If the originals were continued instead of TLOS i'm sure they would be as terrible as Shadow Legacy or they just wouldn't continue so i do realise why they had to reboot the series, even if it made the franchise just a cheap figure instead of something with sole.

The games are fine for what they are...and I enjoy them for what they are...but they will never be as good as the originals. The very reason that many of us got into Spyro to begin with was thanks to the originality and easy going gameplay that was introduced 10 years ago...and to us that IS Spyro....sure my mind is open to just about anything but nothing can ever top the originals.

The people who call tLoS a game with high-graphics know nothing about the present technology. TLoS was very poor in terms of graphics, not to mention the gameplay. Id rather pick a game with an exceptionally good gameplay, a very lasting appeal and bad graphics. One of my friends played Knights of The Old Republic and he said it sucked because it looked old mad

Yeah, and in terms of actuality, outside of the odd game here and there, most games are now 10 hours in length, and not the old 20-25 hour average. Sure the graphics were not what they were, but that left room for story. Games nowadays are all content and very little story, and even if they had an awesome story, they probably butcher it trying to cram all of their artist's pretty bits into the game.

I like the TLoS series AND Sierra. They had a hand with Half-Life, one of the best FPS's out there.

I am sick of these 'Classic > Refreshed' people who think that the old games will never come back.

I am wondering why these people even BUY the newer games if they hate it that way. The old Spyro games are good, but just face it, everyone is starting to push forward with the newer games. I even see many people who use to go around ranting about the new games start to see the newer way.

If you don't like the new games... Don't buy them! Right now, Sierra can just make a 3 hour long game with little story and gameplay and post it on the store shelves. All Spyro fans will swarm and get it, regardless of anything. Even if the title said 'The Legend of Spyro: This Game is Horrible', everyone will buy it. Those people who want the old games back but have all 3 of the TLoS games are weak-willed and naive, for they are going against exactly what they want.

I am a TLoS supporter, I double checked this post and I believe it is very accurate on the attitudes the game has been receiving.

i still preffer the old ones, but i do like the new games too... i only think that those new games need some help, cuz TLOS has great potencial, but it wasnt explored as it could have been... Yeah, maybe the old spyro will never come back, so, if i could help the new games to make spyro back at the top, i would do it...
