Re: Great video game music
Nightmare Creatures. Seriously. Just youtube it. Also one of the greatest games of all time imo. (Along with Spyro, of course.)
Edit: Also the Puzzle Bobble games.

Re: Great video game music
Some good game music would be from Unreal Tournament, Final Fantasy, Soul Calibur, and some others........ lost their names.

Re: Great video game music
Most of the songs from Beatmania IIDX, DDR, Pop'n Music and such. But those are music games, so they might not count.
In which case I'd have to go with the original trilogy of Spyro music. I found Copeland's music to be highly inspirational to my -sucky- attempts at making trance and techno music.

Unreal Tournament and Devil May Cry.
Would you mind elaborating on that? What part of it has great music?

Re: Great video game music
The original Animal Crossing soundtracks were fantastic... especially the early morning ones, like 2 AM. 1 PM was awesome, too. Meow.

Re: Great video game music
Aw yeah! I love that game!
It was really difficult the first few days I've played it but now I can just lead a police squad in circles around the golf course.
Anyway... what game music would I favor?
Descent: Freespace. (Freespace for short) My favorite space sim shooter.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

"Chase Intro Scene" from X2, sadly underused in the series, but good for a hectic battle/firefight-

X3- Ambience music from "Kindgom's End", very relaxing-
