Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

I can do some good video editing, but you need a real professional animator to do scenes like in TLoS games.

Do you mean like adding special effects, and stuff. (Excuse me for acting dumb - I'm not very quick with this type of stuff.)

Yeah; editing footage and stuff. I just got a really nice program, too. As a side career I plan on editing videos for bands. I've already asked two bands and they're thinking about it. I'm also seeking advice from other professional video editors.

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

It's still a little too early to talk about cutscenes, a lot of things must be done first. What I don't know yet, is if the cutscenes will be some sort of "movie", or just codes to make everything happening. I'd go for the last, because of extremely little space is required. Film clips takes lots of space, so I prefer to avoid them. I've found some music and sounds, and that alone takes a gigabyte... It's pretty obvious I can't upload all that...

Cool!
This might not happen, especially since I'm not "manager" of this project, but you wouldn't mind if we asked you for help about special effects and such if we wanted some, would you? It's not 100% guaranteed that this would happen, but it's just nice to have someone to go to, if you get what I'm saying..

EDIT: *Sees Hepolite's post* Heh. I guess you're right. I just got a little too excited about this, and I wasn't being entirely serious about the whole "making a new thread" thing. neutral

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

I have some good game making software, but it has a lot of problems lately. Making a scene like in some of the Spyro games will requre someone who does it as a proffesion. I dont believe I would be qualified lol...

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

You need an editor in order for the cutscenes to come out decent. You don't know anything about those kinds of things though, of course.

I was just looking for a cut scene creator on Google, and can't find one.
Bummer.

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

Swaffy, I don't think it works that way... I think you either do the cutscene directly through code or make it in the modeling program. Anim8or (Which I use), can make scenes. But scenes are not supported in the game, so that's a dead end...

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

Yeah, you need to be experienced and have good programs to make good ones...
And she only wants me out of your little group because she's selfish and isn't fond of me. If she's the boss of your group then I'm sorry.

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

Aicebo, if you are not a cut scene creator yourself, and just an editor, this
thread isn't quite for you. Thanks for the help anyways.

They asked about editors so I spoke up. The end.

No, she's not the boss, even though it may sound like that. I'm not going to say against you, Aicebo.
MC, I'm not tossing people out just because of a locked topic or whatever happened. Get over that.

EDIT:
The two post wasn't there when I wrote this...
Aicebo, what can you do if you got a very basic cutscene?

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

Do you realise what you're asking? If it's sprites then that shouldn't be too hard, but in other cases, you need professionals. And I'm guessing you lot won't really pay what a professional animator will demand for more than an hour's work. One of you needs to learn to animate. And for the love of god, DON'T USE FLASH! It's fine for bored teenagers but not for game projects! God. Bloody flash...

Hmm... Found someone who might be able to help you. They're called Onyum and they do 3D animations. The best part? They work for $16 per hour. And if anyone complains that that's too much then you're screwed because they are undercutting the whole market.

But here's their website details. http://www.Onyum.com
And for good measure, a page detailing several companies who might undertake a cutscene project http://www.ifreelance.com/find/provider … ba=2&sc=57

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

I think they are trying in game graphics cut scenes which do not need any specialised animators.

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

Harumph. After all that work... I'm pretty sure there aretwo types of cutscenes, the movie type and the normal type which uses the same graphics.

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

I'm not going to pay for anything. I'm making free games, therefor I don't want to buy anything.

What I believe is needed, is either the animation to run in-game or make a scene in some program and record that as a film. The last is easy, but takes a lot of space...

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

MC, get over it. Aicebo obviously knows more than you, and compared to what other people could have said, she was going easy on you in the locked topic.
Anyway, I know there are some download-able game programs that help you make sprites.

I can always make a sample of something if you'd like; what exactly is the type of game you're making? What kind of colors and feel do you want it to have?

Re: LOOKING FOR GOOD CUTSCENE MAKERS

I'm thinking of puzzle/platform style, but I also want the action element too. A bit exploring too.
Just for testing purpose, you could try to make a meeting between a spider and the main character wink
The colors should match the colors in these screenshots:
