Twilight.... it annoys me to no end

I avoid the fans (and the people hating the fans) whenever I can. I'd rather just side-step all the arguments and such than get dragged into them, as I honestly don't care about the books/movie one way or the other.

I believe that Romance should only be used as the gravy of a story rather than the meet and potatoes. If you have a pure romance then it is only those who are addicted to the drug they call love that will like it. (Love: Addictive, makes you happy for no reason, and when the one you love doesn't love you back it makes you feel empty and makes you crazy to get it... I actually call it legal weed.. lol) likewise I think that love is a great story telling tool. Anybody who thinks that love is life had best get out into the world... (I have been able to classify all emotions down into 3 base emotions: Sexual Anticipation, Fear, and Pride. Anything can fall into those 3 catagorys and love happens to fall under Sexual Anticipation and Pride. A mix that makes it special but it is nothing much exactly.) Anyhow this is why I don't think Twilight has any possability to fall under my cup of story writing tea... Sorry obsesors.. oh and where did the Edward is a jumping Spider go to? I loved that post! lol

Off Topic: This is my 100th post!!! Wow! lol.. I come back after like 3 months and fing myself stuck at 98... lol.. I'll try my best to be aroung more often guys. Talk at you later!

Yeah everybody at my school kills my brain by saying stupid stuff like that. Luckily we changed seats so I don't sit next to the Twilight Freakz. hmm And I 100% think it's totally, definetly overrated. But of course that's just my opinion and it doesn't really matter. :l

I'm slightly annoyed, because the most argued about book around at the moment is something I haven't read. Darn.

But regardless, I like a bit of romance in stories. It completely screws up characters, makes the story less predicatable. But from what I've heard, and the fact that no book gets serious opposition unless it's really bad, I can tell it sucks.

But you know what? There is a different series that is even more overrated than Twilight. Harry Potter. I'm sorry, but now that I read it, it's so *bleep* boring!

Yeah I have to say that Harry Potter does annoy me for some reason...and I do like romance in books, just not to the point that it takes over just about every motive and direction in the book itself....but my simple solution is to just not touch a single one of them.

I also think that Harry Potter is overrated... it just feeds some strange kids' fantasies about magic n stuff...

I have read the books though... i dont think they sucked hard but neither do i think that they are the best books in the world.

Twilight and Harry Potter are 2 things I forbid myself to be associated with. Harry Potter made no sence to me I guess. Idk y. too much history without explanation I guess. I saw the first movie with a cousin and we were both confused and I've seen it again with another cousin and the same deal about a year ago. (I was about 9 when I first saw it)

Well, Twilight is definitely proof of that....

I have read the Harry Potter books many times, and I like them, but, like anything else, they can be overrated. I can't really explain what I like about them so much. Maybe just something about the writing style and the creativity that I wish I could do.

But in all honesty, I don't think it makes much sense to compare the Twilight series to Harry Potter. One has characters with personality, an engaging plot, and an author that knows how to write. The other doesn't. They're completely different anyway.

Usually most of the really complex masterpieces are rejected because they are not understood (Ah! The clishé! It burns!). That's why Harry Potter is so popular. It got the balance between simplicity and complexity perfect. Which might be why few people of intelligence support the twilight books.

Well I wasn't really trying to compare them other then the fact that Harry Potter does have a better plot tied together into an effective story. Twilight simply doesn't.

I'm not sure if others were trying to compare them...but yeah just about anything that becomes a huge global success can be seen as overrated.

I'll make my statement short and sweet, concerning Twilight and its sequels. Just from reading half of the first book... I felt a part inside of my heart die and my mind atrophy just a bit. It's a disgrace to prose, period. Why there's such a craze about Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn... I will never know, nor do I want to know. Stephanie (sp?) Meyer doesn't deserve to be considered an author, when there are many authors who are infinitely better than her, just to name two of them: J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling.
