"You fools... you've left Cynder all alone. I know where you came from, and that's where your leader is," Ikazuchi stated. His gaze shifted to Canicia. "Oh and by the way, that ice won't last long. Not a very effective shield you've put up. Have you forgotten that he's surrounded in flames? The ice will melt."

True to his statement, the ice melted because of the inferno that engulfed the dragon. Blaze stared at the assassin, a cold glint in his eyes. "You're going to die... there's no escape." Satisfied with the amount of momentum he had built up, the scarlet dragon hurtled towards Ikazuchi.

Ornlu charged out and attacked the lightnight dragon from behind. "Not quite if your here." He answered.

After following the noise toward the battlefield, Drostan managed to find a nice viewpoint that allowed him to see most of the battle. He concealed himself the best he could although he only managed to hide himself from the direct vision of the two dragons. Seeing the fire dragon rise into the air and the flames circling him, his expression changed to awe. Curiosity began to envelop him as he wondered what may happen, hearing bits of the conversation they were having.

During his short time present watching the fight, he wondered why to enemies would be fighting alone in a place meant to serve as the Resistance base. His thoughts, however, were immediately put to rest when he saw the other two dragons seemingly appearing from nowhere. Well, this is interesting he thought, wondering what may happen next in this skirmish. Slowly, he shifted his body and head to look behind him, somewhat expecting something to pop out of shadows. Feeling a chill down his spine, he looked back to the fight, realizing that the climax of the battle had begun.

Canicia didn't respond to Ikazuchi, and merely focused all of his power into bringing up that shield for Blaze. He did however, call for Frost to come help, as Celeste broke off from her pummelling attack and opened her wings, beating hard and breathing swathes of flame over Ikazuchi's back, as Cynder calmly walked out of the relative safety of the spell-glass room and into the chaos of the battle. "My my Ikazuchi. Stubborn to the last you are. All these dragons here attacking you, and you taunt them? You are a silly thing. Blaze is even willnig to give up his life to stop you, though I suspect a teeeny tiny smidgen of that is personal rage, and this is for Frost." Cynder said, bringing her daggered tail up in a stabbing thrust at Ikazuchi's eye. "Though I suppose Blaze FULLY repaid you for trying to violate her. What with the inability to pleasure anyone. Even though from what I've heard, something that small couldn't pleasure ANYONE." The black dragoness continued, stepping forward and slicing with her wings at his other eye, just as a small black hatchling crept out of, then back into, the shadows as his scales started to glow faintly orange as he put up a telekinetic shield around Blaze.

"Stay out of this, all of you! You may get struck instead of he evades," Blaze snapped. His body drew ever closer to the assassin, prepared to strike. Ikazuchi attempted to move away, though his efforts were in vain. Blaze's momentum was too great, he'd never be able to evade in time. "With this... it ends!"

((Sorry, didn't see your reply, since I was in the middle of replying myself.))

Ikazuchi reeled back from the blows that were landed upon him by the resistance members. A howl of pain escaped him as his eye was gouged out from the wickedly curved blade, the flames from Celeste's maw licking at his body. "Even if I fall... our leader will destroy you all." His golden eyes darted to the flame wreathed dragon hurtling towards him. "Those shields won't hold long. If anything, they will shatter upon impact, and then you will take the full brunt of the damage."

"Tell it to someone who cares Ikazuchi," Blaze stated. His attack struck the assassin, a sickening crack sounding out as the fire dragon made his mark. The defenses that were raised up to protect him crumbled, and the force of the impact elicited several more spine-chilling cracks, from Blaze's body this time.

"Blaze!" Frost shouted, the sounds reaching her ears. She flew out to meet the two combatants.

((Ok, fair enough. ^^))

Karnak squealed in pain as Blaze struck, a good proportion of pain, to a hatchling anyway, being transferred into his own body through the shield he raised. He didn't let go though, and bit through the pain, strengthening the shield further even though it let more of Blaze's pain flow into his body. Eventually the pain stopped, and Karnak instantly set about repairing Blaze's body. He quickly flew over to the fire dragon, placed both foreclaws onto his head, wings resting against red scales, and both forelegs touching Blaze's body in some place, since physical contact saved power. Karnak had no idea how he knew this, and some distant part of his mind decided it was either genetic memory or instinct. The shields erected by everyone had saved Blaze's life currently, but if he wasn't healed completely he would die anyway. Karnak through all his power into Blaze's body, working more furiously than he had with Ornlu, not even moving when Celeste came and tried to pull him away. Eventually Blaze was just over into the safety zone, and Karnak collapsed, not quite asleep and some part of his telepathic abilities keeping watch on Blaze's mind and body to to awake Karnak if there were any drastic or life-threatening changes.

"It seems that I will live... nevermore," Ikazuchi weakly stated. His body crumpled lifelessly to the ground, opposite the unconscious form of the fire dragon. The blow had forced his chest and rib cage into his heart, piercing it and effectively ending his threat.

The ice blue dragoness held Blaze's head, her eyes closed. "He's still alive... barely, but still alive. With the force of that impact... I'd say he'll be out for at least three days, if not more."

((Uh... Blaze's saying? That was Ikazuchi who stated it. Ugh... I had that refrain stuck in my head after having to do an analytical research paper on Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven."))

"It wasn't a suicidal maneuver Ornlu. Ikazuchi was too fast. Blaze never would have been able to land a blow unless he used his version of Eis' technique," Frost stated. Her sapphire eyes shifted to Ornlu, frustration in her gaze. "Ikazuchi was foolish. He didn't believe Blaze would follow through with an impact. If he wanted to, he could've fried any one of us, using his speed as an advantage. He wanted to see if Blaze would actually risk his life."

She shook her head as her gaze turned to Blaze's form. Her eyes pored over every burn the flames had caused before the shields had been placed on his body. The burns on Ikazuchi were far worse, however. "It's ironic, actually. Eis was caught off guard by Ikazuchi and captured, taken to the Cult's leader and had Draco Comet drained from him, effectively killing him. Yet it was Eis' technique, or rather an interpretation of it, that ended Ikazuchi's life."

"Details, details..." Ornlu siad, brushhing aside what Frost was saying, "Though it is kind of ironic. I'll agree with that. HOWEVER, now it comes down to my pay now..." He looked around, "No, I am not greedy, I just need it to survive outside these walls. Unless, of course, you want me to steal, Cynder."

Cynder sighed and waved her wings in a non-commital manner. "Yes yes alright Ornlu. Can't you wait a minute or two until everyone's recovered from the big climactic battle and semi-suicidal maneouver? And anyway, stealing supplies from Cult fortresses wouldn't be a bad idea, although rather pointless since we're going to invade sometime soon. Go back to the cliffside base ((People seem to have forgotten that the Resistance base is a different place to where the meeting was held, which was the collapsed ruins of the Dragon Temple turned on its side)) and take however much you need, although if I hear you've taken rediculous amounts I'll have your head on a spike." Cynder said, looking at Karnak, only just realising he was there and that he had partially healed Blaze.

"Blaze owes him his life..." Frost stated, her attention having also been drawn to Karnak. She sighed in exasperation, and in relief at the same time. "At least Ikazuchi is dead. That statement he made though... about what he'd do if he had killed both you and Blaze, Cynder... it brought back all those terrible memories."

Cynder thought about shouting something after Ornlu, then just shook her head and decided he wasn't enough of a rogue to take fraudulent amounts. Karnak was now sleeping soundly, and Celeste quickly scooped him up and deposited him on her back, between her wings, and flew off towards the Resistance base with Canicia below and behind incase the hatchling rolled or fell off some other way.

Frost hefted the unconscious dragon onto her back, the breath knocked out of her from his weight. "Jeez he's heavy..." With a sprightly bound, she leaped into the air, her wings beating through the air as she began to fly off towards the Resistance base. "He risked his life to protect me, to protect all of us. What's going through his mind?" she thought.

Slowly backing out of his position and hoping to remain unseen, Drostan was content with the outcome of the battle. He had managed to pin some names to the members based on the conversation. He resolved to stay with the Resistance for some time until he gained enough information, but he only desired to gain knowledge on one actual aspect. He saw very few things that ever interested him as much as this, but he felt that he needed some more time before solving certain mysteries to him.

((Can we pretend that I went to the meeting location instead of the base?))

Rainbow made her form 'solid' again and she was flying next to Frost towards the Base.

"You need any help carrying him? Or are you alright for now?" She asked.

"I could use some help, actually," Frost stated. Her deep blue eyes drifted to the ground below. "Those things Blaze said to Ikazuchi... about how he'd never try anything until I felt I was ready... he really cares for me. He... places me above himself."

"You sound surprised that he cares for you so much, you should give him more credit than that." Rainbow said while at the same time moving to fly above Frost. She took hold of Blaze's shoulders and timed her wing-beats with Frost's, taking about half of his weight off of Frost's back. "I honestly have no idea what you've been through. Though to get some things for one Dragon or another I have had to.... Well, lets just say some weren't the most pleasant or good-looking Dragons, but if I didn't I would have been killed. But that's the life I have chosen to lead, so I don't complain about it..... Let me know if you don't want to have this conversation, I doubt this is the best time." Rainbow said with a half-hearted laugh.

"Well, we've been together for about two or three years. I would've thought that... he'd be frustrated by the fact that we never moved any further in all that time," Frost answered. She returned the color-shifting dragoness' laughter, amused. "I don't mind having this conversation. It's nice to have someone to talk to."

Rainbow smiled, usually she didn't have conversations as 'deep' as this. First Ornlu and now Frost, what was she coming to? But, she was enjoying talking to Frost and she had also enjoyed talking to Ornlu earlier. Her life of snooping and stealing was over, now the only time she would do such a thing would be for a cause. Also, it felt good to talk about things like this, she felt more relaxed in Frost's company now, talking about things that were at the back of her memories, that she had hoped to forget. But, talking about things helps you to forget quicker, that much Rainbow knew.

"Well, now that you have talked about it to someone you should try talking to Blaze, to see what he thinks rather than speculating. He knows you better than I probably ever will, and he too will need a good off-loading after all this." Rainbow said while shifting her grip on Blaze slightly. "From what I've heard Ikazuchi has given the pair of you a lot of grief. In order to forget him quicker you should talk about him together, then you can move on...." Rainbow blinked twice. "What is wrong with me? Since when was I the wise old coot?! Geez...."

"Yes... Blaze has finally paid Ikazuchi back in full though. Ikazuchi caused the death of Blaze's father, so Blaze took Ikazuchi's life," Frost answered. Her sapphire eyes glimmered as she thought about what she would say next. She sighed deeply, knowing full well what she would say next.

"When Blaze comes to, I'll talk to him. If anything... when he's fully healed, it'll most likely be a night neither of us will ever forget, if I'm right about him," she slyly commented. Flute-like laughter escaped the dragoness, amused by her remark. Her gaze shifted the dragoness beside her, aiding in the task of carrying the unconscious dragon. "And if it helps, sagacity is a trait to be proud of. And a lot of dragons will be envious of you for it."
