Re: Anime thread

Personally, a few of my favorite mangas are:
The Third
Scry-ed
Wolf's Rain
Trigun

epic for them all tongue

And Shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command.
So we shall flow river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine patris, et filli, et spiritus sancti.

Re: Anime thread

It's an interesting, though slightly hard to find, series about a natural disaster cutting off a part of what i think is Japan from the rest of it, becoming known as The Lost Ground. some of the people of The Lost Ground are affected by this natural phenomenon, and gain the ability to manipulate matter around them in a certain way, each one unique, and these powers become known as Alter powers, the people using them known (of course) as Alter Users. The Native Alter Users mostly use their might to subdue the norm. people and rule over them, while a group ban together and form HOLY, dedicated to keeping peace in The Lost Ground. Can't remember names, but there's one real annoying member of HOLY who has the most kick *** alter power ever, and then there's a native Alter who also has a pretty kick *** power as well, and they basically just wail on each other whenever they meet.

It's a fun Series, and it was on Adult Swim for a while, then it got taken off when it finished, though i never saw the ending of it ;-;

Re: Anime thread

English dubs are always a little bit funny, or weird sounding, but it's understandable.

For me, I watch Animes that don't scream mainstream. I actually got *bleep*ed off with Bleach and Naruto because the action is BEYOND slow. It's like sometimes... a single fight online shows the next move. It's stupid. It's like the effect of super slow motion without it actually being realized at all.

I know quite some people who like One Piece. I watched it as the crappy 4Kids dub back then, and I liked it. Odd. But even in the original form, it doesn't quite appeal to me.

So, my childhood anime would be Cardcaptor Sakura! I ain't kidding. I loved the show back then, and when I recently rewatched it.... Oh my Goddess, a nostalgia bomb was dropped on me. I was sure it was dubbed, but it kept the Japanese intro and ending.... or maybe that was sung in English. I'm not sure, since the memories trace back to 2002. I kept the Anime on-hold of watching, but i'll resume it if I feel like it.
________________________________

I just finished off watching Chobits. It's also by Clamp, the ones who did Cardcaptor Sakura. The story is very interesting, and cute too. There's a few elements of Ecchi around, but I could mind it. It's a nice romance story, of how guy young man who moves into the city finds a robotic girl and has no idea of how to operate machinery.

I actually found out of this Anime from a Manga-ish shop. They had several poker cards of different animes, and then I saw this cover that really attracted me and saw that the label was Chobits. So I just went to Google up that and started and finished watching it.

There's probably a ton of more stuff I could write about, but I'm not sure if I should continue. Eh, just ask a question and i'll answer it.

Re: Anime thread

I like two kinds. It's not very original or even that intelligent, but it sure as hell has it's moments.

I prefer manga most times. Tends to be more thought out, less action-based. That's my sort of story.

Re: Anime thread

It may not have originated in Japan, but the Japanies have taken much use of it to put anime comics into those books we now call Manga. <D

2Kinds is a romance between 2 people and they are a different race. It is considered forbidden, but Trace doesnt care. Also trace lost his memories and this big adventrue goes on. Its amazingly cute, funny, and inspirational.
