I'm amazed at how casually you Australians talk about beer. See? Everyone has their weaknesses. I've got a cousin in Australia. He's about 12, and he likes to go to binge parties. Tee hee.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Our country, ontels, our.
The problem with our country is that we are so awesome but we lost it all in the fall of imperialism and now are quite dependent on the Americans, who we secretly resent. This makes us angry and depressed, leading to a state of supressiveness. We feel like we have no power in this world, so we don't strive to use that which we have, so everyone else who is interested in power sits up and tries to grab it. Right before America raises its collosal head and decides they want more oil and that those darn peace treaties can go suck some %$"^*. Then we British get dragged into, because of course we are financially tied to America. They say "Jump", we say "How high?". And this makes us slightly more depressed.
All we can hope for is that America is screwed up by some civil wars or some such, so we can get free of debt and be awesome again.

Yes. We Americans are thankful for our allies.
I think the war is going on too ling. Our president needs to figure out what
to do, but he's just an idiot. He doesn't know what to do, I can tell.

If you want a great example of that just go watch the movie "The Candidate"
That will answer all of this for you if you can't figure it out.

So, what can you do? You make it sound easy. Isn't Obama pulling out troops eventually?

Re: General Discussion - 2
Obama is still leaving 50,000 troops over there. We will still maintain a presence. Although I'm sure sometime in the future they will move to pull everyone out. Then you will find out what sand turns to when it melts.

Re: General Discussion - 2
lol i can guess what you mean by that XD. Although this Afganistan thing is going to fail, throughout history whenever a country has tried to take over it they have all failed. More recently the russians during teh cold war when they were there and they failed. Now American and a few British troops are there, its just going to be an epic fail in my opinion.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Ah yeah compared to the Russian battle there it is a big difference so soz there. But you know its their countries fault the Taliban is as good at is is now. Do you know why? Because the american army trained the Taliban during the cold war to fight the russians and supplied them with weapons and now they are using all those training techniques that they got from them to use against them. Not exactly the best idea to do that, whoever came up with it.

Re: General Discussion - 2
This is not a war or an attempt to take over a country. Trust me if any of this was a war the world would be devastated right now. Trying to pin the ultimate blame on one nation or another is pretty useless....for the events that have taken place there will forever fall upon the shoulders of several different nations. In the end religion has also played a massive part and the combination of all these events has lead to the anarchy that has occurred and will follow in the future.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Im not pinning the blame, im just saying that this is going to wrong like it always has throughout history when ever a country is in Afganistan, either to take over or to take care of extremist groups.

Re: General Discussion - 2
From what I've learned, what Spyro Master said was true. The US did indeed initially gave the Talibans weaponry for another problem they were facing, and now the Talibans are the main problem. That's just fact he's pointing out, no denying that.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Thanks Bmah, thats one of the points i was trying to make. But I guess no-ones to blame for not knowing they would eventually use them against the world.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Well I think you'd have to delve deeper into the history to assess that...I think Talibans were not really ones to be trusted in the first place. Anyways, let's switch subject, heh.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Guys, my computer has a hacker virus on it, and I'm on the family
computer sending this message. The virus keeps restarting my PC over
and over again, so I am doing a full system scan in Safe Mode right now.
Hopefully that will do the job. Let's hope for the best.
