Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Cartoon Network is the BEST network to watch cartoons and so on. It has Transformers, Ben 10 Alien Force, and even Star Wars!!!
How cool it will be if Spyro would have made it to Cartoon Network

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Unthinkable and I prefer Spyro to be a game character. No turning him into a cartoon unless they can really provide a good story line for his adventures and misadventures.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
my sugestion is to make it Anime form and put on late cartoon network
not like Adult Swim time but like around 9 - 10 pm
ona my freinds said if there is no humans in anime and its only creatures the show may become childish {pokemon has humans and still fails]
i think a Spyro anime show whould be an exeption

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Why don't you guys try worrying about the movie seeing as how if that bombs pretty much anything in the future will be about 100% harder to make...think about that before even considering something else...

Yeah. Spyro fits in the game world! Most of the games that have been turned into TV Series are just really bad.

What about.... Disney Channel
Hahahahaha........no..............you can't begin to imagine the horrors that would follow if Disney Channel got their hands on Spyro.......they would prolly have the entire HSM cast do the voices........and on that day I would hang myself.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Spyro on Cartoon Network?
._.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree bigtime; I can't see Spyro being on the same channel as... *cringe* Spongebob or Powerpuff Girls ><
A TV series of the game might be rather difficult and has a large potential of ruining the series as a whole, unless it shows episodes that happen between the games in a canon fashion. I'd hate to see Spyro imitate The Legend of Zelda's TV age, those cartoons were outright awful. From a design aspect it'd be very difficult to pull off a TV series AND continue the game line without clashes. There's also the fact that some stations will not air something or will try to influence what's shown because of "demographics" or whatever, so there's a chance that Spyro going on air might endanger the series to outside influences that could ultimately ruin his legacy.
I also disagree with this because I wouldn't be able to see it; there's so much...<insert a few expletives here> on cable that my family won't get it, and I personally have no interest in paying for all that trash just for a few channels. If Spyro were to be on Fox or something, maybe ABC, he could reach a wider audience.
Putting the purple dragon on TV might work, but games-to-TV or games-to-movie conversions have a high chance of failure, which is why I'm nervous about the upcoming movie as well. The series or movie will either have to be a true-to-story summarization of what's already happened, or it'll have to present canonical episodes that blend with the games so there's no confusion over something like "the series shows this, where is that in the game?" or vise-versa. For example, the TV series could show what happens (in detail) between DotD and the next game, leaving the next game to give a brief history for those who couldn't see the TV series. Which leads to another issue; some gamers wouldn't see the series (like me if it's on CN), so how would they know what's happening if the TV part is presenting game-canon facts? The "losers weepers" philosophy inherent in that would turn some people away.
Essentially, the only way a Spyro TV series could be effectively pulled off with minimal damage to his legacy is a summary of the Legend series (+later games if they come before the series), without straying from the story or adding in material that could make gamers question the authenticity of either series. A good example would be to start before ANB, with the dragon eggs being taken to the Temple, and then add in pieces like Spyro's childhood and the wars against Malefor's armies, then ANB itself, then what happens between ANB and TEN, progressing to TEN's events, then giving a brief synopsis of the 3 years they disappeared in the crystal, etc. That's really the only way I can see it working without angering fans, unless he imitates the Star Wars mini-episodes that were on for a while which showed tidbits of the storyline. That might be more feasible.
Pessimism at its best here XD it's what I'm good at. I'm not saying Spyro shouldn't go on TV, but I just cannot see him on the same channel as those...*shudder* cartoon abominations >< (sorry but those shows just drive me up the wall, i can't stand them). FOX or ABC more likely, probably far more difficult to achieve but personally I might lose respect for Spyro if he airs on CN and ends up having to "fit in" with the other shows, which is very hard to avoid in a lot of cases.
Bleh, I'm ranting, sorry if I burst anyone's bubble but this is how I see it.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Well I'm pretty sure that we won't see this happen at all....I don't want him to appear on any of these channels....heck I don't even want it going on the big screen.....that's just overkill.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
A movie is a good endeavour and almost inevitable in this day and age, but all the same I'm hesitant as well about Spyro hitting the big screen.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
Odds are very good that it's not going to help. It has never worked out well with video game related movies and I don't really think Spyro will be much of a big screen attraction...especially in this stupid 3-D thing they're trying.....they should have just done a straight to DVD.

Re: Spyro in Cartoonnetwork
i wear real glasses, the 3D glasses are designed to be worn over real glasses
(or at least they're supposed to be)
well...now this has my mind going. True, a 3D movie might be much worse than the games, but if they are successful the 3D aspect would give the presented story a bit more depth. The only thing I can see them doing successfully is giving a theatrical synopsis of the trilogy, in which case seeing the final fight between Spyro/Cynder or SpyroxCynder/Malefor would be really awesome. Other than that though, if it's being done in 3D, they're gonna need to tread very lightly.
Using 3D glasses for Spyro games would be cool too xD
Still, no matter how much thought I give it, a crossover to movie/TV doesn't seem right.
