Re: General Discussion - 2

I guesss so. Yeah.

I do know for sure that positive music helps me when I'm feeling
other than happy. I got depressed a lot in my last school year [Soph-10th],
and so I listened to some of the most positive and cleanest [as in soft]
music I had.

Thank God for my useful gift ...  :iPod:
3rd gen light-blue Nano.

I'ma going to take my contacts out and hop in bed. Night all, it's 1:00 AM.

Not quite.

Teenagers, adults, and children need sad music. While they don't need music about crime and sex I agree completely. I do NOT see how people enjoy songs about killing and "being in the hood". Usually that's more of the rap area though and I'm not so familiar with it, so maybe there are stories behind it all that I haven't learned about yet.

Sad/depressing music helps me a lot all of the time. Some of you know that I listen to a fairly wide variety of music; I don't only care about lyrics, but sometimes I don't care what lyrics are, I just want a specific sound that my body really craves to hear. Or maybe a song to sound a certain way. There is a band I like called Cobra Starship and some of their songs are pretty "bad", but I love their unique sound and the way they pull their music together. I'm like that with a lot of bands.

Sometimes sad/depressing songs can tell stories about the writer's life, or someone that they might know. There are inspiring things everywhere, and not everyone ALWAYS wants a happy song. There needs to be songs about depression, sadness, loss, love, hopelessness, etc. or the world will go insane and lose their insanity. I know I would. I feel like half of the songs on my iPod can currently represent how I feel. Lots of them are "depressing" as you might call them...but they help me. I need both happy, sad, depressing, lovey, sick and songs that don't quite make sense to me on my iPod. Sometimes I can turn the original meaning of a song into a whole 'nother that could represent myself in a way or two.

As these last few pages have been about music, shouldn't their be a music topic about what you like?

Oh snap, I worded it wrong. Crap.

Positive music is just what the world needs. Negative music is full of such
crime and sex, that even young children are being poisoned by it. And
because music drives so many teenager's lives, they sure could use a
bunch of positive music. Do you agree?

I meant negative music as in,
"Shake that booty all over my face"
"To the wall, to the wall, to the [bleep] down my [bleep] oh, that [bleep
bleep bleep bleep] oh, that [bleep bleep bleep bleep]
[Whatever the lyrics are...]

[\\-=- -=- -=- -=- -=-\\]

Yes, sound is good. Also, watch out how many times you hear a song. The
lyrics will eventually get stuck in your head...

Just like Alter Bridge. The songwriter's [singer, maybe] family member
died ... I think it was his mother. He made this song:

Look for "In Loving Memory"

Aicebo wrote:

Very true.

Sad music helps me. I admit that I listen to a lot of sad and soothing
music. Much more than rock.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Oops, haha! Well I knew what you meant, don't worry about it wink
Well, a negative song/depressing song inspired my latest bit of art:
http://aicebo.deviantart.com/art/Misery-Hate-116342522
I believe that negative/sad/depressing music is important to life just as much as positive music is.

Edit: Ahhh I wrote this before you edited your post XD I know what you mean by negative music; I have a couple albums like that but it's not like it encourages me or others to do anything bad.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Oh, nice. I love the short poem/quote below, London Town.

To be honest, I like being sad sometimes. It causes me to go into a mind
state that allows me to not talk to anybody. And knowing the teenagers
today how they usually don't try and help a downed person, people will
leave me alone.

Sort of like having some alone time to think and listen to sad music.
[looks at the floor and pauses] Bliss.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Mhm. I don't like being sad all the time. My main favorite band makes me feel better though.
Hmm you like the lyrics? Here is the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K1vwklLo98 It's so beautifully sad. I love it though. I sort of feel like that song right now.
Half the time through my life I feel like crying over what may seem like nothing; my mother tells me to try to be happy when I'm really the only one in the household that tries to be happy. -___- I dance around with a smile on my face while they sit there any complain and the moment I'm sad I'm scolded, so...half the time I just hide myself.

Aicebo, that's horrible. At least you know that you can bring your family
to be happy. Since you are young, you have time to save them.

As of the song, it is pretty depressing. But I like it. Now I get that quote in
the picture. Thanks.

Hahaha.
All of William Control's songs are pretty depressing. It fits the mood sometimes though. When he preforms the venue turns into a freaking madhouse of moshing and dancing, it's so fun<33

Re: General Discussion - 2

Well, at least you know that I listen. It's good to see what other people like.
My sister wants me to clean up the house because my mother might be
coming home from the hospital today. She has been very sick for over a
week, so she asked my dad to put her in the hospital. She threw up every
20 minutes ... I feel real bad for her. So I might get back on after cleaning
up. Or just go and mod Battlefield.

That sucks. My dad's got to have a surgery next week. My dog just had one. I like it when people tell me about their interests too.

He's getting surgery on his arm; it's nothing too big. Nothing like brain damage or anything, which is good.

Okay, that's a relief then. If it was his heart, face, or any other more
important area, it would be a scary surgery. Well, he should be fine. One
thing to start out with is to trust the doctors. Hope they will do a good job.
