Contest Four - Adapt a Movie Spyro Style

Yo. Here's the fourth contest! For this contest, you have to take an existing movie and replace the characters with Spyro characters.

It'd probably be to your benefit if it's a semi to really well known movie. People will be more likely to recognized a Spyro-tized version of "The Wizard of Oz" than "Talento de barrio".

What you need to do is choose a movie, any movie, and either write a summary of your own (or copy and paste a summary from IMDb or Wikipedia ) and 'Spyro-tize' it. That means replacing key elements with Spyro elements and leading characters with Spyro characters.

In addition to the summary, post a short cast list (only the star roles) and explain which Spyro character will fill the role.

The key elements to this are:

1) Choose a recognizable movie.
2) Spyro-tize it enough without losing the gist of the original.
3) A well-worded, cohesive summary.
4) A cast replacement that makes sense. Having let's say Ignatius play the Wicked Witch doesn't make sense. Having him play the great Wizard of Oz does.

Summary:

Life along the Mushroom Forest is full of dangers when you are a tiny dragon. And for Ignitus, a single parent determined to protect his only son Spyro, there are constant fears and anxieties. When, on his first day of school, Spyro defies his father and goes to investigate a grove, he is suddenly scooped up by an ape. Ignitus turns desperate as he frantically flies off in search for his son. As he passes a group of dragons he bumps into Dory, an agreeable blue dragon with severe short-term memory loss, who offers to help. Together this scalian odd couple set out on an impossible mission, finding themselves in troubled times and contending with such hazards as wildebeest pirates, skeleton apes, and a sky of jellyfish. Meanwhile, in a dentist's office overlooking Dante's Freezer, Spyro has landed in a dragon colony that is home to a colorful group of characters who want to initiate him into their gang. When word of Ignitus and Dory's adventures gets back to Spyro, he is so thrilled to learn of his father's search for him that he becomes motivated to move forward with a daring escape plan of his own.

Now, listen closely!

The last three contests have had a lot of rule-breaking I overlooked. In the second contest, people were only supposed to submit two entries and it was supposed to be a single exchange between two characters, yet some people posted several lines worth of discussion or three entries.

This time the contest is more rigid. Anyone who breaks the rules will NOT have their entry(ies) considered. I was willing to let it slide thrice now, but no more. It isn't fair to people who followed the rules.

So, if you don't follow my format exactly (original movie title, short summary, cast list) than you are disqualified!

Finally, Your summary MUST be exactly or less than 200 words. No more!

Two submissions per person only. Put both submissions in one post. (Last time, some people put one submission in one post, one in another - I want them both in the same place).

If anyone submits more than twice, or oversteps the word limit, you will not be considered.

The contest will end on or around April 15th and the rewards for the best entries go as follows:

Summary: Cynder and her parents, while travelling to a new home, stumble across an abandoned town surrounding a volcano. Cynder's parents are cruelly turned into sheep, and grublinches begin to walk the streets as night falls. Cynder is told by a boy named Spyro to get a job from Malefor to stay alive and help her parents. Malefor controls a bathhouse and two of her servants, Cyril the boiler man and Ignitus a serving maid, help her get a job. Cynder gains a magic sandwich when she bathes a paticularily dirty ape, which she uses to heal Spyro when he returns from a dangerous mission. To wake him from his coma, Cynder must return a sigil, which he stole from Malefor's twin brother, Terrador. She is accompanied by Gaul, an ugly ape, and Ember, the fat daughter of Malefor. She returns the sigil, thus releasing the curse, and waking Spyro. They return to the volcano, where Cynder is reunited with her parents before going to their new home.

I'm not sure if Anastasia is "well known" but I love this movie. It's very old, as in VCR old.

Original Film: Anastasia

New Title: Cynder

The movie starts in the past, with the royal family receiving a curse from Malefor, leading to an uprising nation and murder of the royal family except the grandmother and Cynder, who are saved by a guard. They try boarding a train to escape, but Cynder falls off and is left behind.
Years later, an orphan, Cyn, who doesn't remember who she is, wants to go to the Dragon Realms to find her family. She joins up with con artists, Spyro and Sparx, who realize that she resembles the princess and would be perfect to fool the grandmother into giving them the reward. They pretend that she is Cynder to make her come.
They teach her about Cynder and go to the Realms to meet with the grandmother. Spyro discovers that Cynder is the princess because she remembers the guard. (actually him) He realizes that he loves Cyn, but resolves to give her back.
Cyn realizes that the two were in for the money, and tries leaving. Spyro forces her to meet with the grandmother, reuniting the family, while Spyro refuses any reward and disappears.
Malefor reappears and tries to kill Cyn, who is saved by Spyro, and they both run off together.

Summary:
After Spyro had defeated Dock-oc (Gaul) and the Green Goblin (Gnasty Gnork), Flame started to hate Spyro, thinking he killed his father. One Day Spyro saves Ember and a reporter Dragon named Malefor comes up to Spyro and says he is immature, but Malefor thinks he told Dragon-Man, not Spyro. Flame wants his revenge, Malefor wants revenge after Spyro ruined his life, and the mysterios Red wants the money. Which will suceed?

Real Movie: Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
New Title: Spyro the Dragon and the Temple Stone

Summary: Spyro is a young dragon living a normal life when one day an extremely feared dragon named Malefor kills both of his parents and attempts to kill Spyro. Somehow, Spyro survives this attack and Malefor disappears, returning the dragon world to peace and leaving Spyro with a large scar on his head.

Ten years later, Spyro arrives at the Dragon Temple after living a hard life with his aunt and uncle, and being kept completely in the dark about what happened to his parents. He quickly discovers that he is famous in the Dragon Temple, and enjoys life in the temple under the tutelage of Ignitus and the other guardians and with his new friends Sparx and Cynder.

The three friends soon discover the existence of the Temple Stone, and the fact that Malefor is existing inside of Cyril, who is one of their teachers. Malefor has a plot to get his hands on the stone and they rush to defeat Cyril and rescue the stone. They successfully defeat Cyril and get their hands on the stone. They take it back to Ignitus who destroys the stone in order to prevent Malefor from using it.

Summary: When a commoner, Spyro, falls in love with the princess, Cynder, he knows it's trouble. What he doesn't know is that he is the key to getting the famous Lantern of Ancient Grove. But Malefor, the king's advisor, realizes this and uses Spyro and his friend, Sparx, to get to it. But when Spyro and the lantern get stuck in the cave and the lantern reveals an ancient dragon named The Chronicler, Spyro realizes that this dragon could help him, since the dragon can grant wishes. He wishes to be a prince and tries to inpress Cynder she doesn't budge. But then a fight happens, The Chronicler leaves and gets caught by Malefor, and Malefor wishes to be king. Then he wishes to be a dragon like him and grant wishes. Through quick thinking, Spyro gets Malefor in the lamp and sets The Chronicler free using his last wish. Then he and Cynder, seeing the real Spyro, fall in love and get married and live in the palace.

Real Movie: Balto

New Movie: Spryo (I hope that it's not a problem that in the Alladin one it's new name is "Spyro" too. DX )

Spyro was a loner. Dragon City hates him. One night Dragon City falls victim to a serious outbreak of diphtheria. A team of dragons are sent to retrieve medicine from the far-away kindom, but they don't come. Spyro and friends Cynder, Sparx, and Cyril and Volteer set out to find the team and bring back the medicine. However after Cynder hurts her paw, Spyro sets out on his own.

Spryo eventually has to fight glory-dragon Malefor and take over position as lead dragon to bring the team home. Malefor tries to sabotage them, but they get past each obstacle. Along the way Spyro learns to accept himself for who he is. Spryo eventually gets the medicine back in time and saves the city.
