Are Spyro and Cynder made out of marshmallow?

No I don't think their made of Marshmallow cause they have the same problem as they do in the super smash Bros. they jump off of high places as well and they don't get damage, come to think of it they don't even flinch.
And they get send flying into the wall and they don't get extra damage for doing so. I mean come on they get sent flying into the air but when they come down and they don't recover and land on the floor face first you don't see them receiving damage.

What I'm getting at, is not every video game puts damage on a character for falling off high places you shouldn't be suprise if you play a game and that happens.

Yes, it's true that many games incoporate the same mechanics but I'm not talking about other games. My theory is only for the Spyro games.

well, he may not be made of Marshmallows, but in PS3 and Xbox 360, they look like they are made out of plastic....

I swear, in some of the cutscenes, I actually Prefer them from the Wii, than from PS3 and Xbox 360....

I'd try to explain the looks away with sellophame wrapping but as the visuals are different on each console I think that point would be a little irrelevant.

But that just takes the fun out of it. This isn't a question as to why the developers did something, its just some fun to try to explain things in the games that would be conceivably believable in that game's universe. From the developer's point of view they made it so they can't get hurt from falls or running into walls because the game would be harder than it would need be, especially when flying or gliding is a necessary function. But if we take the developers out of the question we can have fun with quirky explanations which is the only reason this topic exists. I want someone to either come up with a more quirky explanation that's just as much backed up with evidence as my theory, or the more likely boring explanation that they have hard scales and other such physiological aspects.

Strong bones would give them extra weight meaning they wouldn't be able to fly. All flying animals are light relative to their size in order to give them lift, hard bones would counter that.

You have an answer for everything don't you? Well thats why dragons wings are so big to compensate for that, you saw ignitus' wings in DOTD, they were almost bigger than him, so it would make him fly.

I'd agree with that if he had wing joints the size of his head to beat the wings powerfully enough but he doesn't. Throughout history man has tried to fly by building wings that were sometimes twice the length of the human. Each time they failed because the man was too heavy. The wing length has nothing to do with it...apart from if it was ridiculously small. And yes, I do seem to have an answer to everything...except one, which I'm working on so I'm praying you don't stumble upon it.

Fresh: A nice way to have good answers for it is to watch 'The Last Dragon', it explains everything.

It may have been you that said you saw it, I'm not sure.

Also, the bones aren't 'light' in avians, they're honeycombed, to provide airpockets to allow extra lift/take away weight/whatever.

True, they are honey combed, which in effect makes them lighter and less dense than typical bones. And no, I've never seen 'The last Dragon' you must be thinking of someone else.

Hmmm... it goes scientifically about how the dragons could have existed, from flight to fire-breath.

We taped it when it first came on, then my mum over-wrote it, then we bought the DVD when it came out.
